I had been trying to find a place to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday, a friend of my mine told me there was a “hidden gem” of a restaurant hiding in knutsford terrace. He said the quality of the food was of the same standards of some of the best hotel Italian restaurants but at a reasonable price. I had been trying to find a place to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday, a friend of my mine told me there was a “hidden gem” of a restaurant hiding in knutsford terrace. He said the quality of the food was of the same standards of some of the best hotel Italian restaurants but at a reasonable price. I made a booking 2 days in advanced and arrived on time at 7:30pm at first sight was a little cozy restaurant with dimed lights and there was a live band a lady singer & guitarist. The menu was simple we had 2 choice’s either A la carte or there special 5 course tasting menu. We both choose the set menu as all the items in the A la carte you could choose to make your own set menu. We were lucky enough to come at the right time as they were doing a promotion of white truffle’s I tried the white truffle egg custard & scramble egg on toast as the server recommend saying white truffles are a good match with butter & eggs, the server also shaved the white truffles in front of us it smelled so good & tasted great, my girlfriend picked her own starter from there antipasto table which had parma ham & melon, smoked salmon and other cold items. Second course was the soups, they were a small portion but we still had 3 more course to come so I guess it was about the right size. For the Pastas we had a Homemade “tonnarelli” which was a small thin & soft pasta with a cream sauce yummy! the best dish was the night was the Linguine with the red prawns and tomato sauce the pasta was Al dente with a rich and strong flavor of the red prawn with the juices mixed together with the tomato’s and the prawn was sweet! Main course’s was the T-bone of Lamb nicely cooked not over done and nice presentation, the other was the whole Dover sole which was “de boned” in front of us and again very tasty! the staff were very professional and the wine’s that I saw from there list were a reasonable price compared to some of the other restaurants I’ve been to. As our desserts came the staff brought out the cake with the live band with a candle on it as I had told them it was my girlfriends birthday when I made the booking. She was really happy, I was a lovely night to remember, We will be back soon.
