Situated just opposite the Chinese Recreations Club in Tai Hang, that's where the action and good food lies. Stone's is a hidden jewel amongst the Tai Hang hub, just a stone-throw away from the Tai Hang MTR and a few minutes down the road from the Metropark Hotel.

Stone's actually took up two adjacent plots, which used to be mechanics' shops. That said, it is right in the middle of all action around the Tai Hang neighbourhood.

On the right hand side of the premises, there's a cozy bar, which offers live-showings of sports matches, whilst serving a wide selection of beers, cocktails and wines. Trust me that the beers they serve are not the run-of-the-mill boring selection, featuring in the usual suspecting bars. Their organic ciders are also splendid.

On the left hand side of the premises, there's a bistro, which offers more comfortable privy seating, whereupon friends and family could gather to enjoy long and relaxing brunches and dinners alike. Unlike the usual bistros where seatings are packed and cramped, Stone's offer great space for its clientelle from every perspective!

People who frequent this joint are usually people who live near by and friends who got inrtoduced through them and ended up loving this joint. With a friendly and laid-back atmosphere, Stone's is an amazingly cozy place to hang out and let one's hair down.

Despite the understated set-up, Stone's actually features various prints and oil on canvasses from Xanti Schawinsky and Andy Warhol. These are all collections from Stone's prprietor, who kindly offered to display them in Hong Kong.

Today, a few of us girls went to Stone's for brunch (as usual) and is welcomed with the usual cordiality by Joel, its owner. As starters, we had the Chicken Salad (app. HK$70) and the Buffalo Wings (app. HK$80). The Chicken Salad is perfect and constitute of Terrayaki chicken, bacon bits, shaved parmesan, lettuce, with a nice finishing of ranch sauce. The Buffalo Wings are something to die for. A tad on the hot tabasco side, but very very tasty!

For mains, we had Eggs Benedict (app. HK$70) and Chicken Sandwich (app. HK$70). The Eggs Benedict is simply unique, for it is not the run-of-the mill type, as the whole Benedict was covered with a kind of a puff pastry before it is oven baked. It looks a bit like th local HK "pine-apple bun" and it simply tastes gorgeous. It also comes with 2 hash browms, which my daughter simply adores. The Chicken Sandwich is delicious and a great bargain! Perfectly cooked, the grilled chicken is smothered with a layer of avocado and topped with lettuce and tomatoes before being garnished within 2 pieces of well toasted brown bread.

After finishing the above, Joel gave us a treat by offering us a piece of their renowned cheese cake (app. HK$50) on the house. That piece of cheese cake is light in texture but the best we have tasted in town.

Overall, Stome's is a great and unique place to dine at or have a drink with friends and family. Do give it a whilrl and you would probably become a fan!
