The signature Ramen bowl from this famous 旭川 (Asahi-Gawa) shop in Hokkaido, is the renowned Soy Sauce soup version. Mixed in with Seafood, Pork Bones, Chicken and also Soy Sauce. A bit of everything as long as it is balanced enough! It is classified under the W-Soup hybrid category with multiple flavours especially seafood all at once. The idea behind it, is to become a rather balanced but oxymoron in definition こってりあっさり soup base. It is about achieving a fine balance with good mouth depth initially but not so powerful in the finishing palate. ~ 3.5/5

Call it really Good Luck and a round of applause, this was the best bowl. The soup improved, so did the short curly noodles. The Char siu was ok-decent but not great, a latter visit had worse off pork Char siu though. ~ 4/5

Ordered the same Soy Sauce one again. One of the reasons why I keep coming back is not just for testing, but because I happen to enjoy their balanced broth ! This bowl had slightly more cooked eggs than the other bowls. The Char Siu in this was ok but a bit lean. ~ 3.5/5

This is the Char Siu Soy Sauce version - which has slightly more char siu. Unfortunately the meat this time were a bit broken up and dismantled when picking it up with the chopsticks. The soup was still good, so were the noodles and eggs.

Cold Malt Tea -
A good practice to serve some cold tea or water, when eating Ramens and Curries !

CONCLUSION - Seems like their lean Char Siu made from leg meat needs to be fixed quickly, in order to make this Ramen bowl stand out from the competition!
