Kailash Parbat is one of those restaurants that have a lot of reviews and you just itch to try it out. It is situated upstairs so you will need to take a lift to get to the restaurant. The restaurant is spacious and open and they fully utilised the space to make you feel as comfortable as possible. I quite like the ambience with music not too loud and chairs that are comfortable. Every table has a bottled water that you could open, but you could always just ask for tap and they’ll give you water

But you’ll need to constantly ask for more water as they seem to encourage you to open their bottle water for extra.

Tikki Chaat

I liked it but I didn’t love it. The flavours were amazing. It had that Indian blend of chickpeas and yoghurt which really complements one another. There were quite a few crispy bits to the dish which I thought gave the dish more texture. It was aromatic and delicious but just not my cup of tea. I personally don’t like the yoghurt too much but that is more about my personal preferences rather than their ability to execute a good dish.

Pav bhaji

This was my favourite and I’m not gonna hide it. I like garlic and even when I cook at home I’m really generous with the garlic. This dish is made of vegetables and garlic but at just the right amount. It’s not strong enough to make you ward off vampires, but it was a good amount of herbs and seasoning that made me asking for more. I didn’t like the bread all too much, so I had this with the garlic naan. The bread was well made and fluffy but I would prefer this dish with naan instead

Saag paneer

I had this dish last time I came to Kailash Parbat, and this time around it was wayyyyyy too salty. Did they accidentally drop all the salt into their curry? Maybe. I didn’t have enough naan to neutralise the saltiness that came from this dish. The last time I came, this dish was nicely made with a good balance of spinach and paneer. The paneer could have been better both times around. I hope that the last time I came was the standard and not this overly salty dish.

Garlic naan

I didn’t like it too much. I like the base. As in the naan is good. Get it please to compliment your curries. It’s a must get, I won’t deny that. As a garlic naan, it’s lacking. It didn’t have that aroma that comes with a good garlic naan which is disappointing. You could also barely taste the garlic which is weird since you can clearly see the garlic on the service. Perhaps this was the side effect of eating the Pav Bhaji first, but I was all in all expecting a better garlic naan.

Would I recommend you to come to Kailash Parbat? Sure why not. It’s well recommended and they serve great Indian food. At its price point, it’s worth to come again. It’s a little sad how empty it was when I went given peak Covid times. Please support local restaurants.
