I was so super hungry on my way to TST and I guess it is finally time for me to try this fish and chips shop at the Pier 7 in Central. The small shop has 2 tables for customers to dine in and alcoholic drinks can also be found which is pretty surprising!The price is good and I can even found the very traditional British side dish mashy peas for just $10!We are here for a feast so why not try a couple of items in a smaller portion? The price is good and I can even found the very traditional British side dish mashy peas for just $10!
We are here for a feast so why not try a couple of items in a smaller portion? They do have some full fish and chips set but we wanted to try more so we have just ordered each separately.
Pipeline porterIt says it uses Hawaiian coffee to make this porter, it has a light coffee aroma and the bitterness is light, a lot lighter than most of other porters that have a strong coffee / chocolate taste.
2 fish bites $10The fish bites are about bite sizes pieces in light batter. It is just lightly salted and you can definitely request the saltiness on ur preference. It's crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside. The fish is flaky with no fishy taste. I liked to squeeze some fresh lemon juice on it to promote better taste.
3 mushroom popcorn $10
These are even cuter because they use mini butter mushroom in a darker colour batter. It's equally crispy and it's even juicier on the inside. It's pretty light from the mushroom itself so I liked to enjoy it with a light dip in the hot sauce that I have ordered extra. The hot sauce should be some kind of sriracha mixture .
Corn dog $25I have wanted to eat corn dog for a very very long time as this is seriously not common to find in Hong Kong. This US street food is done perfectly in my opinion because it's perfectly cooked with a crispy golden surface. The corn bread it very soft and fluffy, then it comes to a very basic boiled sausage on the inside, creating a magical contrast between the salty sausage and the sweet corn taste. I wish I can have mustard to go with it though.
Garlic prawn boat $42There are 5 pieces of big prawns in this boat. The batter is same as the fish one which is deep fried until perfectly golden and crunchy. The prawn has already been pre-seasoned and you can taste the pepper flavour straight away. We were recommended to have this with the Thai sweet chilli sauce which I agree is a good match.
Mashy peas $10This is probably one of the few times I have mashy peas in Hong Kong. It's not runny and rather dense with pieces of peas found. It is light because no salt has been added to it. It is a great change in taste especially when you are having a heavy deep fried meal. I would recommend you to give it a go if you have never tried it before but the UK ones are completely different.
