Dinner with VeggieGal, celebrating final demise of looooong project. Around 10 counter seats overlooking Japanese Chef Kinjo working over an electric grill. Various other tables lining a long and narrow space. Seemed counter seating was more comfy and roomy.Since we made a reservation, server reminded us of the minimum $400 spending per head. No problem at all, with all the alcohol 🍺🍶 that we were gonna order.Comprehensive menu with specialties from Okinawa.Here’s what we had.EdamameJumbo Japanese OysterCold Shima Tofu from Okinawa, known for its firmer texture.Sliced raw yam from Aomori. Its viscous texture went well with the wasabi and seaweed.Raw prawns with the heads grilled separately.Japanese free range chicken wing and thigh.Grilled yam with soy sauceAnother Okinawa specialty- fried wheat gluten (fu) with corned beef bits and assorted vegetables like bitter melon, carrot etc.. Prominent taste of pepper and spongy dough.Grilled Okra, Mushroom and green pepper skewers.Grilled Rice Ball with Butter. My favorite dish of the night- perfect doneness.Nattou (fermented soybeans) and Kimchi wrapped in Grilled Tofu Skin. Not generally a fan of nattou (normally this slimy, sticky, and stringy breakfast dish is served with rice/raw egg in the onsens)- first time taking it in this fashion. Pleasantly surprised: the kimchi muted the pungent flavours of the natto; leaving a trail of umami.Wanted to order the grilled scallop which was sold out. Friendly server recommended against the grilled fish, noting it was too much for us.Had in mind a green tea IceCream to finish off, but was informed that they didn’t serve any dessert; thereby ending our nite in a lame limbo.In summary: authentic cozy eatery. The Grilled Rice Ball alone was sufficient to lure me back for a revisit.

Went to this Izakaya with my friend and sis as my friend was very generous to offer a meal to us🫶. .We started by ordering Kumamoto Wagyu Beef Tataki and Assorted Daily Sashimi. The Beef Tataki was thinly sliced. With a crispy exterior, it managed to keep its interior raw and tasty. It kinda melted in your mouth as well. The sashimi included Maguro, Otoro, Shrimp, Yellowtail and Mackerel. They were all fresh and meaty. The Otoro was buttery with soft texture, while the mackerel was rich and creamy. Next, we got Hokkaido Grilled Scallop, Grilled Ox Tongue, Deep-Fried Octopus, Deep-Fried Shima Tofu and Aomori Raw Yam and Okra Salad. The scallop was succulent with a slightly briny and sweet flavour. The octopus was chewy, whereas the tofu was firm. For the salad, both the yam and okra had a slimy and slippery texture. The yam was earthy and mildly sweet. It was refreshing to have during the hot weather. We then got chicken skewers, including Tsukune, Negima, Kidney, Liver, Cartilage and Heart. The Tsukune was juicy, esp after dipping it with the egg yolk. The Negima was actually chicken & leek skewer. The saltiness of the chicken and the sweetness of the leek combined nicely. At last, we had Grilled Rice Ball topped with Sea Urchin. Hotly-served, the rice ball had a crunchy surface. The sea urchin enhanced its savoury. .The Izakaya was small so it didn't have lots of seats. It included mainly Okinawan cuisine, and the chef was a Japanese, which offered us authentic Japanese cuisine experience.

哎呀,食完今晚嘅沖繩料理,真係覺得好過癮啊!首先來一杯Orion啤酒,凍吱吱嘅,一飲落去簡直清涼透心😌。跟住,就係呢家店嘅壓軸發辦,每款生魚片滑溜溜、味道清新,食落心情都好啲。最正嘅係,條鯵魚同鰤魚,你包埋紫蘇葉一夾,咸香混合咗海洋嘅鮮味,好正宗!跟手,炸八爪魚嚟咗,脆口得嚟又唔會油膩,擺喺面前真係少少抵食,不過就算啦。海參腸酒盜芝士啊,厚道綿密嘅口感,霸道嘅海味咁上咁至夾,特別滋味!至於心心念念嘅スク豆腐,我喺呢度又食到咗,鹹香中帶點野性,雖然要小心小魚骨,但都係好過癮!🤤嗰啲沖繩香腸,味道夠曬本味,食落係完美嘅伴酒菜啊。雞肉串則係一絕,配上蛋黃醬,喺口中綻放滋味,太正!苦瓜豆腐炒蛋彷彿讓人吃到了沖繩嘅陽光同海風——軟滑、健康又美味。沖繩豬軟骨麵簡直絕了,啖啖肉感,湯頭醇香,一啖落肚,全世界嘅煩惱似乎都消失咗。今晚食完呢頓,真係覺得自己食盡咗沖繩嘅精髓,由頭飲到尾,每一樣都係那麼嘅滿意🥰!哎喲,我個胃口啊——幸福到爆炸!

半山食晏一直都係一分錢一分貨但係物超所值嘅確實唔多金城絕對係其中之一餐廳唔大位唔多老闆日本人可以同佢講日文亦有都經常有日本人去加埋我地尼D返工搵食人遲左真係未必有得食剛巧今日老闆朋友未到比左最後兩個留住嘅吧檯好位我地開餐多謝老闆老闆煮野絕對係有心嘢食包保新鮮除左固定嘅午餐定食之外每日都有新鮮嘅是日定食一坐低就老闆就同我地介紹是日刺身飯:油甘魚呑拿魚白飯魚三色刺身是日定食:味噌豬柳坐吧檯最好就係睇到食材同點煮睇見老闆展示佢醃製嘅新鮮豬柳即刻唔使諗,就係佢了點好餐食住前菜沙律,飲住味噌湯睇住老闆煮好份餐味噌湯有蘿蔔同肉片上面的大蔥為個湯加添層次唯一係今日可能落重左手有少少偏咸見到老闆將件肉放落炭火爐到燒好切開上菜果然無揀錯肉質有咬口軟滑得尼帶點爽脆表面香入面有肉汁,唔會好乾絕對係燒得剛剛好肉嘅表面睇到老闆嘅心思醃肉嘅時候已經響肉表面鎅開幾刀唔怪得夠入味配埋日本米嘅白飯出尼係一加一超過二嘅超水準全份餐$108加一尼個價錢食到咁高質嘅日式定食簡直物超所值係我好好食午餐嘅最正選擇之一

有點事情在附近要處理,但是還未到時間,於是在街上轉悠。11點多,有些餐廳未開門,這一家開了,裡面好像已經有顧客。我忽然覺得很餓,早點吃午餐吧,不然再過半個小時,就找個位都難了。「有訂座嗎?」「沒有。一位」「可以在1245交檯嗎?」「冇問題」午餐定食都是蓋飯,其實我不是很想吃太多澱粉,不過還是點了個牛肉飯。定食還包括沙拉、麵䜴湯。先上沙拉,新鮮。味增湯,夠熱。期待著牛肉飯。米飯好吃!我做了不該做的事情,把米飯差不多全幹掉!不斷有人進來,很快小店很快爆滿!我趕快結帳,理解的。
