白麵包外皮挺硬稍難咬開,味道很淡,沾些黑醋欖油較為好味,只試少許便足夠。反而啡麵包略勝一籌,除了散發陣陣麥香,包心又較軟熟,而且內藏粒粒果仁,煙韌有咬口。

巴馬臣芝士烤茄子 (Whole roasted eggplant with Parmesan cheese)
廚師把原隻巨型茄子的中心剖開,再鋪上紅椒和巴馬臣芝士同烤,成品上枱時飄來強烈香氣,腸肌轆轆的我不禁吞吞口水。茄子經過烤焗變得腍軟,完全沒有半點草腥味,覆天蓋地的芝士遇熱溶化,濃厚綿綿、滿載鹹香,亦因如此,更加突顯紅椒的甜美。這道前菜最好happy share,獨食恐會太溜了。

黑橄欖醬海鱸魚 (Sea bass with black ligurian olive sauce)
挺喜歡這碟主菜的擺盤,感覺高雅脫俗。海鱸魚經已起肉煎香,完全無骨,吃起來非常方便,只是魚肉未算嫩滑,而魚皮亦稍欠香脆可口。然而黑橄欖獨特的香氣突出,與主角海鱸魚很是匹配,加上嫩綠的西蘭花,是道健康輕怡的菜式。

紅胡椒和薑煮牛里脊 (Beef tenderloin with pink pepper and ginger)
牛里脊燒得表層深褐,中心則保持暗紅色,廚師將之切成薄片,叉起時已感到柔軟無比。果然,牛肉入口嫩滑無渣,而且仍存肉汁,牛味未算出眾,反而洋溢陣陣炭香。利用紅胡椒調味,令牛肉帶少少辣度,更加惹香,至於薑味很輕很輕,幾乎未能察覺。

龍蝦意大利粉配花生及辣椒 (Spaghetti, with lobster, peanuts and chili)
當這道菜式送到面前時,小妹還以為是一客湯品。不是嗎?橙紅色的湯汁盛得慷慨,意粉究竟躲到哪裏?原來廚師意粉都折成小段,難怪能藏在湯內而不露痕跡。可惜小妹不太欣賞這個安排,因為吃時麵條不停滑下,有點狼狽。龍蝦份量不多,但尚算肉厚甜美。湯底非常濃郁、集合多種海鮮的精華,並散發花生香氣及低調辣度,層次豐富,可是有點過鹹。

百里香意大利奶凍配野莓薄荷醬 (Thyme infused panna cotta with wild berries and mint sauce)
意大利奶凍因加入了百里香,變得與眾不同。雖然百里香清清幽幽,不算霸氣,但已足以把奶香完全掩蓋,似乎「妹仔大過主人婆」。奶凍質感滑溜挺身,沒有太過水汪汪,合我心意。酸酸的野莓除了添色,也可解膩,至於餐牌提及的薄荷醬,淡淡然不著跡。

今晚集中細味幾道菜式,數量不多,但也花上了好幾小時。美食是需要耐心等待的,這個道理小妹早已明白,可是這夜肚子實在餓透,加上天氣寒冷又下著毛毛雨,歸家心切,所以真希望食物能快點端來。或許,我應該要學懂慢活主義,戒掉「心急人上」的壞習慣。

小評:這間精緻的意式餐館環境和食物很不錯,第一次來便留下了良好的印象,很適合朋友間小聚會,如果情侶間有紀念日之類的約會,Va Bene會是個不錯的選擇。

Food is above average, and what I wanted to stress is its decor, having one of the greatest in the trendiest nightlife district in h.k. Service is great, the chef is very friendly and he came out to have some fruitful chats with us. A nice one. Good place for 3-5 friends to dine / have a quality gathering.

The food at this place was down right oily, plain, greasy, and uninspired. We ordered 5 dishes and when it came it was like food from a microwave and then covered with olive oil.Whilst Italian food is known to have liberal amounts of olive oil, the food we got served tasted ONLY of olive oil.In terms ambiance, there was an annoying fly in the restaurant and the decoration is getting old.

今日系星期六,見做完功課,考試測驗有完左,覺得悶悶地,所以就約個friend過海行下,因為我地兩個都系住起觀塘,對呢到唔系好熟。所以就上來openrice,體下有咩好食。我地起中環行下行下,就行到來蘭桂坊,見到呢間餐廳好浪漫,就人去啦,雖然系幾貴,但系考完試輕鬆一下就無所謂啦。我唔知點解D人話呢間野錦差。入到去,就有一個侍應問我地幾個人。一坐低,無幾內就bei水我地,而且點完菜後好快就來到。(由於系午市ge關係,所以店內唔系錦多人。)午餐價錢一律198蚊,lunch set 有3樣野+一杯野飲。包括前菜,主菜,甜品同埋野飲。可惜我唔記得影相同埋餐牌。D野食鹹甜適中,無乜味精,而野飲我就叫左咖啡,個friend就叫左檸檬茶。D野錦好食,下次有機會一定會再來,不過系食晚餐。如果距有分店起附近就好好啦

之前試過食pizza 同risotto 都好好味. 所以今次同朋友再試New Year’s eve dinner with 4 courses special menu.Sea Bass Carpaccio with Caviar and Whipped cream - 超fresh嘅sea bass,好味, 無諗住whipped cream同raw sea bass 會咁夾. Next, Lobster Risotto - 大大隻lobster鉗, Risotto 都變成橙黃色, 每一啖雖然唔係啖啖有lobster, 但啖啖都食到lobster味, yummy yummy!
If I have to complain, that must be the portion of the risotto is too large which already fill up everyone before we more on to the next course.

Still chose Block Cod as my 3rd course....well seafood, never too much
. Others chose Beef with Artichoke Cake for their 3rd course.

Block Cod with garlic cream (if I’m correct) - The perfectly cooked Black Cod (nice and moist white fillet with crispy skin), the sauce is amazing, 唔係普通cream sauce, 一D 都唔creamy, 重有少少sour, 不過就係咁先好match and makes me forgot how full am I after the lobster risotto.


Thank you for the remarkable night and it’s good to have a wonderful dinner with friends together as a good start of the year of 2013.

靚仔請食飯,當然一囗答應,到了蘭桂芳,被一間意大利餐廳的裝修環境吸引,走了入囗侍應招呼我們坐下,只見場內只有三四枱外籍客,已經覺得奇怪,星期六晚上蘭桂芳人頭湧湧,但間餐廳職員仲多過客,問部長有甚麼美食推介,部長很有耐性推介各種食品,靚仔揀了個牛柳,我就揀了個龍蝦仔番茄忌廉意粉加杯凍檸茶,之後侍應奉上一大籃麵包,外相很吸引,但一擺入囗又乾又凍又硬,好似d隔夜麵包甘,d蕃茄粒又無味.為了留個胃食主菜,所以無再食d麵包..主菜上後,意粉及牛柳賣相非常吸引,但一食落囗.救命!從來未起中環區食過甘難食既嘢,之前去soho間東歐餐廳已經中過一次招..呢間仲恐佈.D意粉咬落去係硬到未熟既,個汁及格但d龍蝦全完是梅到爛的,味到只有一大陣腥味+雪味,好似擺咗起雪櫃千年既肉咁,食咗2啖已經無胃囗,靚仔個牛柳仲大件事,我試了一囗,以為自己食緊牛肝,梅到不得了,薯茸及格.唉.靚裝修氣氛甘好招呼甘好賣相甘好都無用,好睇唔好食..原來男人女人一樣,都容易被美麗既外表欺騙.>.<靚仔話唔想浪費勉強食晒件梅到飛起既牛柳,我就只吃了2啖意粉..之後部長嚟收碟,問我地d嘢啱唔啱食,我好老實甘話佢知我從來未食過d甘難食既嘢

Tried this many yrs ago when it still got Michelin ranking. Now, it's quite "lonely" with only 4 tables guess on wkday lunch (don't know how this restaurant sustained with such low customer flow). Lunch set 198 three courses with drinks. So, when we arrived at the restaurant, we were immediately greeted very warmly - friendly and attentive. Once the host realized that my associate was visiting, and was Sicilian, the Italian was flying


As we were reviewing the menu, the manager came over and introduced himself. After a bit of small talk, he asked us if we would allow them to plan our menu for us for evening. Then the chef also came to our table to discuss the details of our preferences, and any requests...we were getting lots of attention!

We started with artichokes sautéed in extra virgin olive oil and garlic and fresh ricotta on toast - delicious! The artichokes were full of flavour, and not greasy at all, despite being fried. And the fresh ricotta was lovely (I was told by my associate that it was ok, but he noted that it would be impossible for anyone to bring in fresh ricotta from Italy).

Our main pasta, was a request from my associate, which was spaghetti with roasted eggplants, ricotta, and tomatoes sauce with garlic. It was very flavourful - rich tomatoe sauce, full of depth and sweetness from the tomatoes, and wonderful balance with the smokiness from the roasted eggplants. The tomatoe sauce may the best that I've had in Hong Kong...
One of the better pasta meals I've had in Hong Kong.

Overall, the food and staff were really excellent - I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone

Fri Night group 揾飯食, 嚟呢間話自己係全香港最trendy嘅trattori試吓. 餐廳雖然位在正正蘭桂坊的中心, 但餐廳內尚算優靜, 地方環境, 設計相當時尚. 去過幾間Gaia集團祺下嘅餐廳都有不錯的水準, 對Va Bene亦有相當期望. 我哋一行六人, 有叫set同a la carte. 我地點咗:頭盤: 風乾牛肉 + rocket 菜, 鰻魚沙律, Mozzarella + Tomatoes主菜: Ravioli with 南瓜餡, Veal shank 配mashed potato, 忌廉汁銀雪魚, 蜆意大利粉 甜品: 雪糕蘋果批, Tiramisu樣樣碟頭賣相吾錯, 不過一食落去就有被欺騙的感覺, 水牛芝士嘅蕃茄又冧又冇味, 街市買嘅蕃茄重好味. 銀雪魚就簡直就是一個笑話, 肉質淡而無味, 食落似o趙海棉, 舊魚吾知出入咗冰格幾多次. 魚雖然好難整, 但吾係整成咁嗎?!!! 最近試過嘅Aroma就吾係整得吾錯囉. 樣樣碟頭賣相吾錯, 不過一食落去就有被欺騙的感覺, 水牛芝士嘅蕃茄又冧又冇味, 街市買嘅蕃茄重好味. 銀雪魚就簡直就是一個笑話, 肉質淡而無味, 食落似o趙海棉, 舊魚吾知出入咗冰格幾多次. 魚雖然好難整, 但吾係整成咁嗎?!!! 最近試過嘅Aroma就吾係整得吾錯囉. Veal shank 也是一樣, 全無肉味,舊肉好似煲完湯D湯渣咁, 夾硬用D調味品嚟上D味, 好難頂! 意大利粉屋企工人整得重好. 蘋果批重離譜, 好似係將D蘋果切粒放入個麵包仔裡面, 吾脆, 吾熱, 吾甜. 點可以攞出嚟見人架? 五, 六百呅食餐甘嘅野真係有D過份. 番嚟香港食嘅意大利菜, 呢間都可以話係最差喇. 咁好嘅地點, 咁差嘅食物. What a waste!

PS 尋晚屋企重要食個公仔麵!!!

這個三道菜的regional cuisine menu的三部份皆有選擇,前菜及主菜都是三選一,甜品則是二選一。很快便選好,先吃麵包。三個選擇之中,以香草包最得我心,法包脆片俱一般。反而另上的沾醬卻好吃,用來配麵包就最好了。

前菜上場,我們在三個選擇中,放棄了湯,要了炸田雞腿及薄牛肉沙律。炸田雞腿香味撲鼻,是好吃的。另味前菜是將一片片薄牛肉塗上吞拿魚醬而做成的薄牛肉沙律,橄欖油是下得不夠,可以更好;

主菜也是三揀二,選了火腿意大利飯及燴牛面肉。火腿意大利飯不錯,濃稠可口,芝士味道足夠又不過鹹,整體而言,表現不錯;燴牛面肉也好吃,轉眼也吃得一點不剩;

甜品鮮果Mascarpone芝士慕絲云呢拿雪糕配pound cake。二者皆不錯,雖然是十成飽,也值得將其吃清。

侍應的服務很好,招呼好亦有禮貌,值得一讚。

連有氣水一支,埋單900。這裡開得夜,跟朋友談東談西,轉眼已過午夜。在這個令人氣餒又疲憊的一周,吃一頓令自己滿意的晚餐,很重要。穿起外衣,走出人來人往的蘭桂坊,再去那裡喝好呢?

We were looking forward to some good Italian, but were sadly disappointed by Va Bene. The bread basket was the first disappointment...usually bread baskets should be good in any decent Italian restaurant, but not here. Greasy lavash tasted like nothing, other breads were slices from large loaves...no yummy little bread rolls. No butter either... instead we got two dips, a tasteless tomato salsa that lacked garlic or salt, and what looked like a hummus (minus the flavour). It might have been baby

The menu was uninspiring, but we settled on the fried artichokes and octopus salad as starters. Both were drenched in what tasted like pretty cheap olive oil. The artichokes were crispy on the edges, but any flavour was drowned out by the oil. The octopus salad was like cafeteria food...just mixed leaves, chopped up octopus and a squeeze of lemon. And LOTS of olive oil. Bleah.

Mains were spaghetti vongole, and monkfish. The spaghetti was ok, but very dull. And a small serving too. The monkfish was fibrous and spongy, not the fat firm medallions we expected.

Dessert: chocolate bomb cake (described as a chocolate torte?) was like every other chocolate bomb cake, but drier on the outside, and accompanied by a sickeningly sweet vanilla sauce. Dessert 2 was a coffee caramel creme brulee...quite nice, but nothing special.

This food would have been disappointing in a mid-priced restaurant. At HK$600 a head it is a joke. The entire place feels like it is run with the goal of churning out production line food with as high a mark-up as possible, with no ambition to actually provide tasty or interesting choices. Avoid.

had a late dinner with my boyfriend here, surprisingly, they still serve food at 11ish, and with amazing quality!we had the beef carpaccio as starter. knowing that we were gonna share the food, they were so considerate as to divide it into two portions and bring it to us in two separate dishes. the beef is really tender, good pick of cheese and olive oil, the whole thing is just so perfect!i had the risotto as the main dish. it was pretty good. my boyfriend ordered the clam linguine. i have to s

i had the risotto as the main dish. it was pretty good. my boyfriend ordered the clam linguine. i have to say this is an excellent dish. very fresh and tasty clams, and the linguine is al dente, just like how the italians would make it (i have had real italian dishes from an italian friend many many times), something you can't miss!

i think this is a restaurant which values customer experience and food quality a lot, will definitely come back to try other dishes.

p.s. the chef is really handsome, he got reported in u magazine a couple of weeks ago ;)

點解你要迫我....你間姊妹餐廳係IFC都不錯,你咁唔生性!!話晒係意大利高級餐廳, 又唔忙, 我攞住啲嘢, 俾啲風度同基本禮儀呀唔該, 拉拉張凳please!网上面睇好似幾靚,實境一般,枱&凳有啲細.傾密計都ok,不過枱同枱有啲近,有壓迫感. 頭盤同main dish都唔得, 等於姊妹餐廳6成功力. 甜品可以.呢個價錢我會去(1)四季Caprice食mix appetiser(人哋連手袋都有張法國凳仔坐, 服務好到嚇一跳); (2)盛智文(蘭桂芳之父)旗下餐廳, 又平啲, 好味得多囉!!

食過兩次,毎次都係公司Lunch。如果唔係公司請,自己一定唔會去。食物好咸,咸到不可原諒。毎個人都有食浄,可想而知。Service也真係麻麻。落單時記客人位置是基本工夫,但送上食物時仍是一片混亂。
