週末日子,本是與朋友或屋企人相聚的好時間,無奈社會緊張的氣氛,令香港人的生活規律都改變了。想約飯局,還要好好考量飯局地點是否會有衝突時件發生。相比之下,中環區算是受到示威活動衝擊較少的一個區域。十月份的生日飯局選址中環The Murray酒店內的西餐廳The Tai Pan。酒店位於中環與金鐘中間,位置有點尷尬。附近亦沒有任何便利店。入住這裡的客人,大抵以商務為主,旅遊性質應該較少。由於酒店位置較偏,維持入住率要有一定的策略。同一道理,要吸引食客到來酒店餐廳用膳,也一定要有相應的推廣行動才行。為了吸引顧客,食店與多間訂座平台進行合作,提供折扣優惠。開飯網及其他網上飲食訂座平台十月份都有為食店提供晚市時段七折的訂座優惠,折扣率頗為吸引。肯恩比較過不同平台的訂座條款,發覺只有其中一間的七折優惠可以涵蓋晚市的套餐餐牌甚至飲品,不像其他的平台優惠只限於單點菜牌。所以最後肯恩還是選擇了從這間平台訂座 。(不過只限最多六位客人的訂座,其他的訂座平台似乎沒有這個限制)生日飯局,原先也有考慮自攜蛋糕慶生。不過當向酒店查夠後,知道外帶蛋糕需要收取每人六十元正的切餅費(以三佰元切餅費為上限),並且在切餅費

生日飯局,原先也有考慮自攜蛋糕慶生。不過當向酒店查夠後,知道外帶蛋糕需要收取每人六十元正的切餅費(以三佰元切餅費為上限),並且在切餅費上還要加一服務費。收費高昂得令人卻步。

若果想省卻切餅費,可以考慮訂購酒店提供的蛋糕。不過蛋糕只有兩款選擇,一磅的蛋糕售價$420及$450。價錢略為偏高。

由於食店提供的蛋糕賣相亦不太吸引,我們最終決定放棄蛋糕的選擇,留待晚餐後點選甜點作替代方案。

餐廳位於酒店一樓的位置,座位寬廣,隘意舒適,裝潢亦甚具時尚感,切合酒店走時尚路線的風格。

餐牌內菜式分頭盤、湯品、主菜及甜品類別。除了湯品選擇較少之外,其他類別的菜式均有五款以上的選擇。

至於晚市的套餐,沒有另設菜單,而是分為頭盤+主菜的兩道菜餐單,或頭盤+湯品+主菜的三道菜餐單類別,價錢定為$498及$598,食客可以從主餐牌中的頭盤、湯品及主菜類別中挑選心水菜式。若果食客想選擇烤雞全隻及M6澳洲肉眼作主菜,便需要另外加錢,並且需要兩位食客同時點選才能享用這類菜式。

一般進餐客人,若果不是非常細食,大抵都至少會點一份頭盤及一份主菜作為晚餐。作為精明消費者,不難發現若果選取兩道菜或三道菜套餐,已經給了客人大概八至九折的優惠。這間網上飲食平台的七折優惠連套餐也能夠享用, 變相是一個折上折的優惠。

附上的兩款牛油質感與味道也很優質,不過一枱五位客人食店卻只奉上兩碟牛油,客人進餐時少不免要把牛油從桌子上傳來傳去,侍餐細節可以再好一點。

不過最值得詬病的,不是牛油,是照片中空空如也的水杯!由入座至麵包上桌足有十分鐘之久,竟然沒有侍者前來為客人提供最基本的飲用水。之前聽聞酒店的服務水準中規中矩,今天可謂大開眼界.....

我們一枱五人最後都選取了三道菜的晚市套餐。

頭盤尚未到達之前,侍者先送來餐前小吃。

小吃一共有兩款,分别是蕃茄撻及炸蠔。小吃以一大盤子奉上,賣相不錯。

蕃茄撻除了使用蕃茄作餡,亦混了不少生果碎粒,爽甜多汁,一口嚥下開胃清新,打頭陣很是不錯。

單看外表會以為炸蠔既乾且硬,但咬下去後發覺炸蠔外層炸漿並不如想象中厚實,裏面的生蠔温熱且富嚼感,味道口感都有點喜出望外,絕不失禮。

餐牌上頭盤類别一共有六款菜式,大顆兒從中點選了三款菜式作是夜頭盤。

龍蝦沙律是食店的Signature dish。以凱撒沙律為主軸,配搭新鮮龍蝦肉。

羅馬生菜是新鮮貨色,口感爽脆,伴上整份彈牙龍蝦肉,鮮味十足,再配搭可口的巴馬臣芝士、煙肉及麵包粒,口感與味道都很豐富,這種份量的頭盤,二人一同分享份量也很足夠。

侍者慢慢把湯倒至湯碗之內,到了三份一滿時仍然沒有停手的意圖,最後足讓湯碗倒至半滿,份量很是豐足。

餐湯不是濃湯類型,湯中的龍蝦海鮮味道沒有想像中濃郁,但卻有着濃厚的粟米香氣。由於湯頭很夠温熱,喝進肚子暖感十足,以麵包沾上餐湯同吃最好不過。

主菜中以兩道魚類菜式價錢最高,一是海鱸魚,我們點來的是較為少見的南極魚。

南極魚生長在較冷的海水區域,每年產量不多,口感爽滑,肉味接近銀鱈魚,但油份沒有像銀鱈魚般那樣重,魚肉的鮮味更為突出。加上魚身不錯的厚度,吃下去啖啖肉的口感令人回味不已。

二人份量的原隻燒雞,伴上B B蘿蔔。侍者先讓燒雞原隻上桌給客人驗收,之後再在客人旁邊折骨切肉。

一般西式煮法煮出來的雞肉,通常都會偏嚡,但這次吃到的雞肉,卻是出奇的嫩滑,雞肉肉味細緻,極具水準,是全晚最有驚喜的菜式。

選用的是澳洲和牛中最頂級的Mayura類別,Mayura和牛亦叫朱古力和牛,飼料中加入朱古力為食糧,身嬌肉貴。

和牛是 Medium rare 熟度,外層燒得焦脆,內裡牛肉肉香十足,肉汁豐盛,甚具嚼感,好牛者定必大為滿足。


晚餐套餐並不包括甜品,需要另外點選。我們一日前早已經着食店為生日壽星準備生日牌,可以放在甜品上。

我們分別選來了三款甜品,每道甜品賣相都甚為吸引。

肯恩選來的是柚子檸檬撻,伴上士多啤梨雪葩。

由於每款食材酸度都甚高,肯恩吃下甜品時只感到連中的酸澀味在口腔內爆發。這款甜品的組合不太合肯恩心水。其他兩款甜品應該會比較對調。

晚餐整體水準不錯,食物無論份量、賣相與味道都很令人滿意。若果酒店跟食店方面能夠把服務水平提高一點,應該可以得到更好的口碑。

踏入十月份之後,地鐵每逢星期六日晚上十點便要提早停止服務。是夜港島區的飯局,結束後已經過了十點,之後肯恩便要費索思量尋找返回九龍區的方法。地鐵的安排大大影响市民到居住地區以外的地方用膳的意欲,對飲食業可謂雪上加霜。

天氣尚未轉涼,但飲食業的寒冬早就在今個盛夏無聲無息步至。最近某電視名人開的高級中菜餐館開業一年便宣告結業。若然那些大業主仍然不肯減租與大家共渡時艱,恐怕倒閉潮將會接二連三繼續出現.....

Tried this restaurant earlier this week for the first time for lunch and I was in the mood of eating some seafood, the staff by the name of Vishal recommended I try the fresh oysters and the lobster Caesar salad as he said it was his favorite, he also made me taste a nice white wine from Australia and suggested I enjoy it since I was dinning by myself. He provided excellent service and attention and kept checking on me throughout my meal. I will definitely go back with my clients again and look

I have been back for dinner twice in one month. The restaurant is not busy but it should be given the quality and value. Guest can choose any of the dishes in the a la carte menu and make them a 2 or 3-course meal (served in their original portions still), plus amuse bouche. In my view, the chefs marry what Asian taste buds like to Western cooking - the use of sauces that have complex/distinctive tastes. The menus were different each time I was there and they were (are still) featuring a hairy crab special menu lately. The seaweed salted butter for the bread basket was addictive.


Most memorable dishes: lobster & carrot soup which the sweetness of the carrot created a delightful surprise to the predictable roasted shell taste of a lobster soup. The signature miso toothfish came with a fluffy dollop of creamy Japanese white miso. The dollop deflated when you poked through it. The fish was oily like a cod. This dish was slightly sweeter than I preferred but still good because the miso was very prominent. The ginger & honey pork chop was grilled to “pink” yet still fully cooked (good job, chef). It reminds me of “char siu” Chinese BBQ pork. It was juicy and tender with the right amount of fat. The steak and the duck were excellent! Not recommending the mahi mahi with curry foam though because it was slightly bland and over cooked.


This place is know for desserts also. The mango and hazelnut mille-feuille is their signature.

朋友介紹呢間個weekend brunch幾抵, 係附近返工咁耐都未試過, 所以約埋同事一齊黎試個lunch。個龍蝦Caesar Salad 好有驚喜, 個salad dressing好香濃龍蝦味, 龍蝦肉都份量十分generous, 女仔食個salad都好夠! 甜品ok精緻, 環境就確係幾舒服, 望到出面花園, 中環黎講算好chill。下次可試dinner。走個時見到有個露天地方有人帶狗狗食tea, 問下員工先知原來呢間酒店係pet-friendly。我自己都係狗主, 香港實在無咩地方可以帶埋狗仔出黎玩, 仲要係酒店! 不過都係等秋天涼少少先帶狗仔黎玩, 仲可以影下靚相。

For a small celebration, I booked this restaurant that my friend always waited to go. It’s 3rd visit and everything remains as good.We ordered a set of oysters from France. Fresh and crisp.Then we order the signature lobster salad, I liked the way the veg was cut, yet the very essence remains in the sauce that every mouthful you taste the oceans and lobster. Then we both ordered the sweet miso toothfish. Being a Hugh fans of saikyo yaki I don’t see why I don’t order this western creative twist, and it turned out that it outperformed my expectation. The fish is so juicy and well cooked, the potion is good for me and my male friend. The side dishes are meticulously done. We left very full for our desserts.

I’ve order for myself lychee juice fruit bowl; quite indulgent to have mouthful of fresh lychee juice in this season. The financier went a bit soggy at the end which is a miss.

I had the Tai Pai Tasting Menu. Starting with a watermelon tomato bistro with crab meat. I had Lobster Cesar for appetisers, Toothfish for main course, and their signature Hazelnut Mille feuille for dessert. Only $398 +10%!!! That’s an unbelievable price!!! Soooooo cheap. The environment and service are so good. 我覺得餐飯起碼值$800! 真係難以置信係$398 加一。材料好,細心既烹調,個甜品既質素極之細利。個menu 食到26號only,我好想食多次!

Best fd 生日撞啱銀行信用卡做Restaurant week 嘅promotion, 咁就book 咗佢個The Tai Pan Dinner Set 試下,我地揀咗平曰夜晚食,其實都幾易去,穿過長江中心就是,加埋一每人平均每人唔使$500,唔包飲品,但係以食物質素,加上靚靚環境,絕對超值,最欣賞佢個Lobster salad,好多龍蝦肉,好好味,其他main course同甜品都好出色,呢間真唔錯👍🏼Lobster Salad主菜條魚煎得外脆內滑另外加錢有oyster食甜品又靚又好食,raspberry Sorbet每枱都有一杯free嘅茜芹汁朋友叫嘅素main course,茄子連枝Sparkling water都咁靚

朋友話某銀行做緊Restaurant week 見The Tai Pan價錢OK,就去試吓。餐廳環境唔錯,可能平日去所以人唔太多所以好安靜HK$398/位+10% Service Charge - 3 Course點完食物之後,先送麵包同cold soup,湯味道幾清新。我哋另外order oyster $178.00有6隻,賣相唔錯,而且好新鮮,中間喺檸檬,有心思同方便。appetizer 點咗Signature Lobster Caesar Salad,賣相好,份量大,有濃味嘅龍蝦汁,龍蝦肉都好爽口。Main Course 分別點咗White Miso Glazed Patagonian Toothfish ,魚肉鮮嫩。Eggplant Caponata Stuffed Rigatoni 食落似長通粉再釀肉醬一樣,有濃味芝士同蕃茄碎舖面。Dessert 分別叫咗 Hazelnut Mille-Feuille賣相唔錯,生果尚算新鮮。New York Style Creamy Cheese Cake普通不太突出

公司的後花園——走兩步已到達The Murray。中秋節team lunch, 預先book好3 course set。麵包籃有迷你法包、合桃提子麥包等,外脆內軟,是個不錯的開始。第一道菜是泰式柚子大蝦沙律,酸辣比例完美,份量有如半份主菜,可惜缺了鮮蝦的鮮味,味美只停留於醋汁。主菜的份量及擺盤回歸五星酒店級的精緻。比起barramundi 我還是喜歡牛肉。沒得選生熟度,但四面煎封,內裡透紅,對我來說是剛好。牛味濃郁,燒汁也不會過鹹,反而是那菠菜purée有點苦,可有可無。甜品是傳統檸檬tart。要強調是傳統tart,即tart有tart型,不太喜歡modern deconstructed,一堆crumbles。最後,大家各自點了不同的茶,除了一般的早餐茶、玫瑰花茶之外,還有1900普洱(🤣),以小型品茗會作結。

Thanks to The Dining City, I got to try out The Tai Pan during restaurant week without breaking my bank!This delicious little Fig & Dates bread was actually the most impressive item in the whole meal. It’s so fluffy, the fig & dates flavored it with a bit of sweetness. There were two types of butter for you to eat it with - ordinary and seaweed butter. The seaweed butter was so so good! I chose this Signature Lobster Caesar Salad as appetizer. The portion of lobster was generous. The lobster was  fresh and delicious. I adored the white anchovy fillets so much too! Great seafood! The aged parmesan, pancetta chips and sourdough croutons were equally amazing!

We opted for wine paring too. I am not a wine person, but the white wine from Portugal (2016 Alvarihhe-Loureiro) went well with this seafood salad.

Main was Grilled Spiced Wagyu Beef Flank Steak. A bit ordinary. But the sides were delightful - green asparagus, shimeji mushroom, and black garlic whipped potatoes (my personal favourite). The red wine paired was from Itarly (2014 Amarone della Valpolicella).

We ordered one Hazelnut Mille-Feuille and one Citrus Tartelette to share, so that we got to try both. I love my Hazelnut Mille-Feuille so much! The hazelnut cream was so flavored and smooth! And the mille-fueille was so crispy and delicious! The raspberry sorbet was just so so.

As for my friend’s Citrus Tartelette, I didn’t like it as much, as the grapefruit sorbet tasted a bit funny. The tartelette itself was good though.

We loved the dessert wine so much! But it got a bit too sweet after we finished our desserts…

Both me and my wife descided to try this restaurant as we were celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary, the restaurant is luxurious not surprisingly as it is inside this beautiful hotel, the food was good but I must highlight the energy of the managers who took care of us was great. One of them got us a lovely pastry with a beautiful wedding message and surprised us with a complimentary glass of bubbly.This was very special and the highlight of our evening.

we dined here our first time in this lovely hotel and elegant restaurant, the food we tried was from the restaurant week menu, quite honestly the taste and portions were average, the restaurant was very full, the wine pairing was good the staff make us taste the wine first and we like and ordered the oysters was nice, the Service in this restaurant by Managers and staff is excellent.

今次試一試新酒店,雖然交通不算很方便,但在山頂車站旁,人流也不少到達餐廳,我的訂座是有拆扣優惠的,可是侍應生沒有主動介紹那些範圍不能使用LUNCH 只有SET LUNCH可選(或許有A LA CARTE?但我只有一本SET LUNCH MENU)MENU 內可有四個COURSE可選,有1)前菜 2)湯類 3)主菜) 4)甜品可是MENU價錢就只有2 COURSE 和 3 COURSE 的選擇朋友未吃甜品前已經點了3個COURSE,最後還點了甜品作總結結果帳單就將3 COURSE 再另加一個甜品的價錢收費而LUNCH SET內又沒有包含飲料費用,當服務員詢問我們時,我還「大安旨意」以為SET內會包最後帳單也顯示了我們幾杯飲料價錢,當然也不會爭嗌,實在餐牌也沒有指明會包只是如果可以明碼實價,給一個飲品MENU 我們選擇,感覺會來得好好多

第一次試呢間餐廳非常好,好好食。我太太經dinning city 去book呢間餐廳,we try the three course ,it is good. The restaurant is good and nice .我哋開第一次佢嘅restaurant week.The manager Vishal who take care of us everything was Great, we will come back to try the Sunday brunch has he recommended it with my son. I want to go back with my friends again as I liked Vishal care and hospitality

見 restaurant week $398/head + 10%, three-course dinner 幾唔錯,就去試下。7點去都3成滿,之後 full house 有少少噪。不過待應話平時無咁多人,通常得一半滿。講返食物先,坐底有一籃六個麵包加兩款牛油,再送一杯 cold soup。我哋加咗半打oyster,新鮮。appetizer 個龍蝦 Caesar Salad 相當唔錯。main course 都好味。dessert 相當出色。nice dining experience. will visit again
