I'm vegetarian. Some of my acquaintances believe that vegetarians only eat falafel, (well, falafel, lettuce and beans with strange names), so naturally I conformed to type and ordered the falafel roll. (It is a great dish.)Sadly this time my go-to choice failed me, or rather Tava's falafel failed me. One of the reasons why myself and so many other vegetarians like this dish is that falafel provide us with that crunch. The crispness of the fried outer shell is something that's hard to come by in the vegetable world. Sadly Tava seemed to have missed the memo re the importance of crunchiness and served up a soggy stodge of chickpea (both falafel and hummous), the like of which I haven't experienced since my university days spent experimenting with different falafel recipes (I was trying to impress a Turkish housemate). The portion size was generous and filling. The salad inside the wrap, the bread and the sauce were all acceptable. But the whole thing was let down by the poor, mushy mass of chickpea. As the food wasn't up to standard this seems like a side issue but the price was reasons and the staff prompt but curt. I think the only words spoken were the price I needed to pay. There did seem to be only one woman. Perhaps she was just bored to death. 繼續閱讀

Tava is Turkish and Mediterranean food. I have previously eaten at Tava in Quarry Bay and notice their rapid expansion of the brand to Wanchai (convention centre) and Central (lkf). It’s halal food, making it kosher to most people aside from vegetarians. The QB location is too far off to radar to make regular visits but their new locations make it convenient. You are what you eat so the best types of food usually dictate the best looking people. Que Mediterranean diets. This is perfect hangover prevention food. It’s also good for lining the stomach prior to a heavy night of drinking at LKF. Tava Quick is occupies the location of the previous Flying Winemaker (the tranquil oasis inside LKF but away from the hustle and bustle). Flying Winemaker’s old location was in the heart of LKF, one must wonder how they were able to afford the rents without catering to the LKF hordes.I have had lunch here on 2 occasions already. This is the mix donair salad (chicken and beef) for $62. It has lettuce, onions, tomatoes, carrots and pickled cabbage. One thing I like about the open kitchen format is the ability to watch the kitchen prepare the order. I would hate to see them reheat food and use ingredients that have been sitting under a heat lamp. Tava makes the food as soon as you order it, fresh. They also have 3 sauces for you to drizzle onto the food – spicy, mint and garlic. I mix the garlic and mint sauce together to dip the fries.A better view of the food. It’s good value. You will not find anything cheaper in the area nor better at ground level. No carbs, lots of vegetables and protein. Tava’s food would be great to line the stomach for a night out on town or post dancing nourishment. It’s sad they don’t serve alcohol. This is a quick meal. Everything is under $100 and it beats most of the competition at the price point. 繼續閱讀

I have been there for a couple of times as I like generaly the Mediteranean and especially the Turkish cuisine in matters of street food. + Quite convenient 'cause it's located nearby my office.+ You could call it al-fresco. Quite nice view and can't say that gives you a claustrophobic feeling like some casual basement or second floor located hide-outs.+ Another option instead of having a cheap burger that just acts like a feedbag or an adjacent expensive one made for white collars that will make your wallet bleed.+ Option of real sweet deserts with typical Turkish taste, instead of gas infused wanbe-pastries....+ Staff was politeBUT in order to survive than having the same destiny like other nearby ones on the same floor, please consider the above listed:- small portion of meat makes sense. We came there for the meat and for the grass.- rice for a Turkish-style must be in a Turkish way cooked (buttered & with a nice smell) and not just a steamed overcooked one.- salad that's said as Turkish and has Feta cheese, must have real Feta cheese instead of White Cow Cheese and of course in a quantity that you may say it will be enough to feel it's taste. 繼續閱讀
