Went there for our Anniversary and was waiting at the door for few mins to be seated as they need to put in our number in the system, the system wasn’t working and we ask if we can be seated first as we have a little boy with us, the host said ok but the owner came and tell us in not nice attitude saying is government restriction, we would have understand when he speak nicely to us! And my husband had a few words with the owner and he said if we don’t like it we can leave the restaurant. This is Ridiculous! Open a restaurant and this is how they treat customers! 繼續閱讀

Came here for dinner with two friends. Ordered the tater tots, cornbread, cauliflower and a mixed meat platter. Tater tots were good but i dont think worth the price (basically tater tots with bonito on top). Cornbread nothing to rave about (we ate a bit and thought it wasnt that great so left the rest unfinished). Cauliflower was quite good with smoky flavour. Meat was not good.... ribs were average but the brisket was super super dry, as if it was made a week ago. The interior decoration is quite nice with open kitchen but if you are coming for american bbq, i would suggest waiting for another place to open up. Overpriced as well for the food. 繼續閱讀

Kinship二人組在中環的新攪作, 是主打美式煙燻和燒烤的Smoke & Barrel, 未入到餐廳在它樓下也能嗅到濃烈的煙燻香味. 和Kinship一樣定價親民, 份量龐大以及氣氛熱鬧. 來這裡吃午餐, 自然會點其煙燻肉類精選, 分別有腩肉, 手撕豬肉以及Ribs. 先說它的煙燻, 用上桃木出來的味道接近以前我在Texas吃過的味道, 很傳統. 手撕豬肉的醬汁除了辣味之外, 用上特製的香醋汁, 也令其有種先聲奪人的酸勁. 腩肉外面焦脆, 中間有層薄薄的脂肪, 內裡粉嫩的肉就是品嚐其原味, 以及煙燻的香味, 沒有其他. Ribs則加了蘋果酒, 除了令其帶有果香和酒香, 也令其肉質更嫩滑. 對於我這隻食肉獸來説, 這會是我的天堂, 但對女孩子來說吃得就甚為吃力了. 繼續閱讀

People who grew up in the States could not wait for this restaurant to open. We finally went for dinner during the soft opening. We ordered a mixture of various plates, cos we were keen to try everything. To me, it didn’t matter what they ordered, cos they all tasted the same - masses of cold/lukewarm spicy meats. Even the cauliflower and cornbread was spicy. Particularly noteworthy was the Mac and cheese, which was only lukewarm. The melted cheese had already hardened. People each took a spoonful and didn’t take more. Standards seemed to be much lower as compared to Kinship (which apparently is in the same group). 繼續閱讀

Netflix sure does a good job to market American barbecue - where smokehouses have popped up recently in the 852.Decided to pay this place a visit after learning that they offered a nice Thanksgiving lunch.  Booked for a 1:45pm lunch and wasn't seated till 2:15pm caused a bit of a let down, we weren't really offered to start drinking at the bar, just really stand around and wait as they struggled to usher their diners out of their (or soon to be ours) table.Our seating were at the back of the house so flagging down wait staff proved a bit difficult - although to be fair they seemed rather busy.   If you expected a nice southern-Texas/American welcome then this place surely won't be giving you that - but is on par with the average Hong Kong hospitality standards. The menu comprised of 3 small starters which were a bit difficult to share but nonetheless quite tasty: a fresh mozzarella salad,  smoked meats/sourdough and slow cooked beans.    The main we chose were the barbecue meat platter - which was rather underwhelming with similar texture/flavours across the 3 different 'meats' which felt very similar.   However the mac & cheese was definitely a big hit and the smokey bbq sauce really hit the spot as well.    The deserts were surprisingly the winner, apple crumble/soft serve and beignets was something that everyone agreed was the real MVP in the meal. But I would say this place replicated the visual Netflix experience of juicy smoked meats.  Overall the experience was slightly above average from a food perspective, but I did have a high expectation - which it clearly did not deliver to.   繼續閱讀
