The first starter was this Palak Paneer of spinach and fresh curd dumplings. I really love the watermelon carpaccio at the bottom! The baby tomatoes, fennel and watercress mayo made great toppings! And the huge dumpling itself was absolutely delicious with rich cheesy spinach flavor. Yum!
Stuffed Calamari

The other starter we got was this Stuffed Calamari. We were recommended to have flatbread with the dressing, and it was such a great suggestion! The flatbread itself was very tasty with crunchy pastry top wrapping fluffy bread, and it soaked up the dressing sauce nicely without giving you a greasy feeling. Superb!

The Stuffed Calamari itself was of top notch. It was fresh and nicely cooked so that it wasn’t chewy at all. The smoked pork belly, clams and pistachio were all so enjoyable! We couldn’t stop digging in! And we were really surprised that such a flavored dish wouldn’t leave you thirsty nor greased.
Roasted Lamb Rump

The main of Roasted Lamb Rump was relatively less impressive. The lamb rump was ordinary. But the shank potato skin with brie cheese on the side got my heart! The burnt corn and diced lamb were quite spicy indeed, probably because of the extra cumin/paprika powder.

On the whole, Pondi is a great place for a chillaxing meal on a weekend afternoon. Would love to visit again for other dishes!

整體真的很喜歡!試到平時比較少嘗試的菜之餘 環境仲超舒服 很加分👍🏻

其實睇Menu唔明係一道咩菜,所以就問店員,佢簡單介紹有三款海鮮同味道,我地就叫咗嚟試。有炸軟殻蟹,大蝦同魚,感覺上就係雜錦海鮮,再配有一小杯龍蝦湯加羅勒希臘乳酪醬脆片。雖然用料好新鮮,但仍有加入茴香避除海鮮腥味。龍蝦湯用料十足好濃味,店員話可以就咁飲,或者用嚟蘸蝦食。大蝦先烤過,蝦肉一半拆出用龍蝦汁再煮,蝦嘅香氣濃郁,肉質彈牙!鱈魚扒魚皮有先煎香,肉質保持鮮嫩Juicy。但敗筆係軟殻蟹懷疑係調味粉過多,所以食落好苦,亦唔香脆😕

羊排上碟前已經分開骨同肉,羊皮煎得好香脆,直頭聞到有炭香味,但肉仍然係好嫩。羊排加入黑孜然味道會較重,所以配有清新嘅薄荷醬又用上帶酸甜石榴粒,令羊排味道唔會過於單一😋 既香濃又清新酸甜,又係一道沖擊味蕾體驗嘅菜,必食🤩

雖然寫要兩日前預約,但都係臨時叫就有。Open Dumplings其實係外層一塊皮包著豬腩肉,係皮上開一個窿,就係OPEN咁解。餃子底下係酸南瓜蓉,而面頭係薑味乳酪醬同韭蔥絲。雖然韭蔥鮮甜而酸味開胃,但肉質實在太厚實,食到好飽。呢個菜算係咁多個之中較平實嘅,但實在係之前果啲太出色所以令佢有啲遜色🤣

由於係生日飯,所以叫餐廳準備咗個甜品,上檯前已經插上蠟燭。底部由多種水果粒同餅碎堆成,水果好鮮甜,中間係加入大量冧酒嘅cream,酒味極重,另外都插左啲焦糖脆片。

絕對係好難忘嘅一餐,係到食嘅野係出面從未食過,佢地好識運用各種香料同配料去組合一道菜,而店員都好熱情,各方面都唔會令你失望嘅一間餐廳。推介👍🏻

After this excellent dining experience, I did some research and found that Pondi is a short-term for former French colony Pondicherry in southern India. This French x Indian restaurant was newly opened in February. Happy to have celebrated my birthday here. To start with, I have always loved the neighbourhood and the ambiance of Pondi is superb. Just a half mark off for its close seating arrangement but frankly speaking it's somehow reasonable considering the size of the place with limited room

To start with, I have always loved the neighbourhood and the ambiance of Pondi is superb. Just a half mark off for its close seating arrangement but frankly speaking it's somehow reasonable considering the size of the place with limited room for design (blame the sky-high rental prices in HK).

The staff are very attentive and I can see how organised Pondi performs on its staff's work allocation – one with introducing beverages and the rest are readily responsive to answer us.

We had hung yogurt croquettes as appetiser – colourful dish that's dressed up with beets, onions and broccolini!
Hung yogurt simply means thick creamy yogurt, which makes the croquettes taste divine – crunchy on the outside and soft and moist on the inside, totally different from the traditional croquettes that I normally won't order.

The braised lamb loin served in cut thick is meltingly tender, and the sauce doubles up as a sweet glaze when it is coupled with the sweet bursts of pomegranate! Best if you pair it with wine (my friend did

Size of the baby calamari isn't as small as it's named. I'd give it a 5-out-of-5 rate because they also stuffed it with pancetta which is not salty at all and the portion is massive!
Love the sauce, the portion and the presentation overall, but when you compare to the other dishes, it may not stand out among them, probably because it's something that I'd order usually and the food served in Pondi keeps surprising me. I'd recommend you when coming to Pondi to pick something different from what you always take! All the three dishes we ordered are gluten-free and Pondi is vegan-friendly too.

From my past experiences, newly opened restaurants always serve the amazing food with best ingredients and excellent services. I hope Pondi can keep their quality up as I will definitely return because of such good experience I had with them.
