I’m a regular at NOC for casual lunches and appreciate their membership program, but a recent birthday-month visit highlighted some inconsistencies that left me frustrated. The birthday perk offers a $50 voucher to spend during your birth month—provided you’ve spent a minimum of $500 beforehand ($1 = 1 point). The terms require careful reading, as the voucher is issued after hitting the threshold. When I asked a staff member how to redeem it, he explained I needed to spend $500 in a single transaction first, then the $50 would be credited for future use. Fair enough, but when I asked how many points I still needed to reach $500, he claimed he didn’t know—despite having my profile open on his screen. A second staff member later contradicted him, saying I’d already met the requirement and could use the coupon on my next visit, regardless of spend. The conflicting information was confusing and avoidable. Better staff training on membership policies would go a long way.Seating is another weak point. Tables are packed tightly, leaving little personal space, and the mix of low and high tables feels inconsistent—neither option is particularly comfortable for a relaxed meal. On the plus side, NOC is pet-friendly, which is a nice touch for dog owners.Food-wise, it’s solidly average but healthy. I’ve heard complaints about the coffee, but I find it drinkable. My go-to beef salad bowl was decent this time, though I had ordered medium and it arrived well done—a small but noticeable miss. Portion and balance were fine, and I appreciate that they allow avocado swaps for cherry tomatoes in the salad (a lifesaver since I don’t eat avocado). However, this option isn’t available for other dishes. My partner ordered the all-day breakfast and couldn’t make the same substitution, which felt inconsistent.Verdict: NOC is convenient and decent for a quick bite, but unclear policies, cramped seating, and minor service hiccups hold it back. With sharper staff training and a few operational tweaks, it could be a much smoother experience. Oh and there are flies sometimes. …查看更多
