I'm so glad that I made the detour to come and try out this place. I did a search for places which serve vegetarian food, this was one of several in the area but I've been hoping to try some vegetarian momos for a while but it seems like a small meal and every time I've been near a Nepalese joint before I've been very hungry. So today I was lucky that hunger level and momo availability were matched. The shop is a small open front with a a few stalls and high counters. I chose to eat in because it was hot and I was tired so I took the only available counter space. I ordered the vegetable momos and waited hungrily. (The vegetable ones are only available steamed.)They arrived after about 10 minutes I think, I wasn't timing but time goes slower when you're super hungry. As I don't have any prior momo experience against which to judge these I will have to settle for saying that they were very tasty indeed. These momos were a great example of how small chunks of chewy, earthy mushroom can be used to kind of mimic the deep, meaty flavours and tougher texture that is sometimes lacking in vegetarian food.I am afraid that I may have been eating in rather too ravenous a style as unexpected halfway through the meal the friendly young cashier came and gave me a free vegetable skewer. The skewer was delicious! Very simple, just chunks of pepper, onion and sweetcorn grilled with a herby dressing but the simplicity leaves room for the sweetness and flavour of the vegetables to shine. I think this must have been the mixed vegetables that's you can see on the menu.…查看更多
