we all had a set the lunch which includes an appetizer and dessert buffet, and a selection of main courses from burgers, paninis, pastas, and of course steaks.first, I remember the buffet being more plentiful and having more variety. the selection offered was nothing great. the cheese was bland. the salami was ok but the ham was chewy. the soup was too watery.I had the tuna panini. after waiting 20 mins, it came with hardly any tuna inside. I had to bring it myself to the kitchen to complain. they brought it back with a bit more tuna, but only on one half of the panini. the other still was almost empty. I just ate it as I was hungry.My wife had the skirt stake which was tough and chewy and just plain inedible.  and this from a steak house?!the desserts were ok. lemon pie was fine, brownie was fudgy. fruits were sweet. all else were bland or terrible. there was a choco chip cookie that was so hard.perhaps the a la carte offering is of better quality and value. but sunday semi-buffet lunch is not! 繼續閱讀

趁著最後一天假期,和親愛的到銅鑼灣去找吃。站在時代廣場樓下,看見了一家餐廳有semi brunch buffet,之前在其他餐廳吃過semi brunch buffet,Si最喜歡吃前菜,沙律、火腿、小吃都喜歡,就算不吃主菜也飽了,所以就決定去這家Manzo試試。一進餐廳,只有小貓三四台,可能時間尚早吧店員給了我們梳化座,但店員的態度麻麻,感覺好像不太好,而枱腳又站不穩,就算店員用紙墊了亦無幫助,最後我們都換枱了。算吧,如果食物好吃就可為它挽回分數。先看看餐牌:選擇都頗多。Si點了panini and buffet,而親愛的就點了ribeye steak brunch and buffet。可惜,這餐是不包飲品的。然後,Si就去buffet枱了。選擇不算多,比Si去過的餐廳少,幸好都有點沙律,有點ham,有點cheese,有點甜品,連同水果麵包,一共大概二十款。首先拿的是Si最喜歡的Parma ham和mozzarella cheese。Salamo和Parma ham都可以,帶點鹹香,配上清甜的蜜瓜。不過mozzarella cheese就麻麻,沒什麼味道。第二碟Si試了些沙律其實Si不想浪費但味道實在有點古怪所以吃不下去(orz對不起)之後我還想再戰Parma ham的時候,店員突然送上主菜。。。我可沒叫上菜噢(無奈)算了吧就先吃主菜好了天啊(嚇)我點的是chicken breast panini,心目中的應該是比較健康輕怡的,怎麼這個像巨型漢堡飽一樣?飽面是脆脆的好像炸了一樣,和我平時吃我panini不一樣!!(哭)而且入面是切條的雞肉,飽亦很熱氣,Si吃了一半又吃不下了。。(原諒我嗚)這是親愛的點的ribeye,Si不吃牛的所以沒試過,但表面看起來好像很小,而且見到初初切的時候好像很乾親愛的說不好吃,像塊布(哭)然後在不滿足的心情下,試一下甜點吧檸檬撻樣子不吸引,不過味道尚可,酸酸的,味道不會太artificial。Tiramisu 沒酒味,很普通。曲奇餅很硬,吃了一口就懷疑它放了多久(疑心太大了對不起)總括而言,這頓飯是不滿足的,服務麻麻,食物麻麻,恐怕不會再來了。 繼續閱讀

這晚,跟D先生&F小姐來到銅鑼灣區吃晚餐,可是大家都沒有特別想要到的餐廳,於是就決定來到時代廣場逛逛看,選一選想要吃什麼菜式,或是看看有沒有較為吸引的餐廳可以試試。到達時代廣場後,時間還未夠18:00,我們直接乘升降機到達13/F,然後一層一層慢慢的往下走,在走到11/F時,D先生就提議到Manzo Italian Steak House吃牛扒,在大家沒異議的情況下,我們就在店員的安排下入座了。晚市時段18:00才剛開始,因此還沒有太多客人,可隨意挑選座位,本來想坐裡面的卡座,可是店員說那是二人卡座,四人坐會非常擠迫,於是唯有選擇這個玻璃間隔旁邊的角落位置。餐廳面積敞大,有大約百多個座位,裝潢以木色為主調,深啡紅色磚牆配木地板、木桌椅,燈光較為昏暗,環境確實不錯;加上採用開放式廚房,凍肉櫃更放滿各種不同的食材,儼如走進意大利的雜貨市場。作為Dining Concept旗下的餐廳之一,Manzo Italian Steak House以牛扒聞名,牛扒有四大種類選擇:35oz的Bone in Steaks ( for two ) USDA、10oz的Wagyu M5 Beef、14oz的Holstein Angus及8/12oz的Select USDA Steaks,價格由$238-988。經過一輪商量後,我們決定放棄不太吸引的前菜,先來點熱湯,然後再選牛扒及羊扒,以及另加點side dish。點好餐後,店員隨即送上麵包,麵包經過輕烤,表面帶點香脆,入口帶微溫,附上蒜蓉牛油,可惜味道不見突出。Lobster Bisque $88吃完麵包就來個熱湯暖胃,龍蝦湯加入忌廉,口感cremy,味道香濃,加上湯面灑上不少香草,更能帶出龍蝦湯的味道。Wagyu M5 Beef Flat Iron 10 oz $398由於F小姐不喜歡吃太生的扒類,所以三份主菜都點了Medium well。老實説,當店員為我們送上牛扒時,我們都被它焦黑的外表嚇了一跳,後來才發覺只是燈光昏暗所做成的錯覺,牛扒的表面經過燒烤而顏色較深而已。切開M5澳洲和牛裡面呈粉紅色,看來較接近Medium,而不是Medium well,由於M5和牛的脂肪分佈平均,因而肉質軟腍,香嫩多汁,只是牛味略為不足。Holstein Angus Ribeye 14oz $338另一份牛扒選了Holstein Angus,由於西冷/肉眼價格相同,所以選了肉質較腍的肉眼部份,同樣是Medium well,切開只中心部份呈粉紅色,入口牛味香濃,肉質富有嚼勁,卻不過韌,口感不錯,味道亦好,跟M5和牛各有特色。Grilled Lamb Chops $258Honey and rosemary marinade with salsa verde跟牛扒相比,我較為喜歡這一客四件的燒羊架,Medium well的生熟程度,肉質香嫩軟腍帶上肉汁,沒有羊肉的羶味,加上香草薄荷醬汁味道更好。Truffled Fries $68除了三份主菜之外,當然少不了side dish,略幼的薯條炸得香脆,而且不覺油膩,面層灑上點點黑松露粒,吃來充滿黑松露獨特的香氣。Parmesan Potato Gratin $68另一款side dish是巴馬臣芝士焗薯,大塊薯仔上面鋪上大量的巴馬臣芝士,經烤焗後帶點微焦,芝士香氣撲鼻,混合洋蔥、煙肉及香草,令每塊焗薯更添美味,咬起來質地粉糯,薯味香濃,非常好吃。 我們對這晚嚐到的食物尚算滿意,龍蝦湯&羊扒的質素、味道皆不錯,兩款牛扒亦不差,其中以side dish味道最為突出,出乎意料的好吃,看來實在有點喧賓奪主了。若以一間Steak House來說,Manzo Italian Steak House所提供的牛扒種類不算多,質素、味道亦有改善進步的空間,作為一間意式牛扒屋,扒類應該要做得更好才對吧! 繼續閱讀

My husband and I dined at Manzo about 2 years ago.  The food was very good then and we were impressed with the service.  This time we took our couple friends to join us.  It was a mistake.  The first sign was this was Sat. yet there were only 3 tables filled.  We ordered drinks and we had bread (6 thin pieces).  Since we were still waiting for our foods, we had to ask for more bread.  (Shouldn't they ask us?)  Then, the waiter gave us a look that we wanted more bread.  We ordered steaks and pasta as well as salad and side dishes.  The food was just ok and kind out being small portions.  Then we had desserts.  I ordered strawberry cream cheese.  It came in a very small piece (with the hight of less than an inch) and I did not see strawberies so I asked.  They said strawberries are inside, so I responded ok.  I never heard of strawberry cheese cake with strawberry inside.  This would be interesting.  So, I cut it in the middle to see strawberries, but there is none.  So I called the waiter to inform.  He said it's inside! it's mixing with the creamcheese.  So I said really?  nver heard of this.  So, he asked if I wanted to change. So I said thank you.  I would like Tiramitsu.  It came back with Tiramitsu a thin long piece (1"x 1"x3.5")   The dessert was $68 hkd.  Are you kidding?  It is a sad looking Tiramitsu.  It did not even taste good.  Overall experience was emaciated at best.   Not at all worth it.  The only good part is I got to see my friends.   繼續閱讀

We arrived before 7 pm and were the first ones there. The decor was casual, with wood furniture and white walls. I had never eaten at Manzo before, so I did a quick search online and found that it is part of the Dining Concepts group (of Bistecca, Lupa, Bombay Dreams and the anticipated Bread Street by Gordon Ramsey).Cold Cut Platter ($198 for 3 kinds): We picked (L-R) Bresaola Air Cured Beef, Speck Smoked Proscuitto and Finocchiona Fennel Salami. My favourite was the salami, which had the perfect balance between fat and meat, and a delightful hint of fennel. The bresaola was a bit on the chewy side and the prosciutto lacked in pork flavour. The portion size was reasonable.Grilled Thick Cut Bacon with Salsa Verde ($108): The bacon was sizzling hot when it arrived. The salsa verde (green sauce which includes parsley, garlic, vinegar, olive oil) was tangy and refreshing, which was nice against the fatty caramelised bacon. Interesting combination overall.Spaghetti with Sauteed Shrimps and Green Peas ($188): I liked how the pasta was served in a cute pan. It made it easy to share the dish. The spaghetti was al dente and tossed in a lemon-garlic-butter sauce. The shrimps were sweet and the frisee kept the dish light and fresh with its bitter notes. We all enjoyed this dish.Bucatini with Crab Meat, Spicy Tomato sauce and Basil ($198): This was not as good as the previous pasta. There was too much pasta and not enough sauce, therefore the dish was under-seasoned. The tomato sauce wasn't spicy, nor did I taste the crab meat. However, I liked how the basil brightened up the dish."Guanciale" Braised Beef Cheek in Red Wine with Stewed Vegetables ($228): I should've taken a better photo of the beef! It was so tender that you could eat it even if you had no teeth. The beef soaked up all the robust flavours of the red wine and vegetables. There were hints of rosemary and black peppercorn. The vegetables were soft and added sweetness to the dish.Tiramisu Cake with Almond Gelato ($68): Hong Kong style tiramisu made without the strong coffee liquor (or maybe there was liquor but I didn't taste any) paired with almond gelato. The cake was alright, but could've been more moist. The gelato was creamy and rich, but I didn’t think it paired well with the tiramisu. Lemon Meringue with Honey Gelato ($68): Yum! This was delicious. The pie had just the right balance of sweetness and tartness. The lemon curd was silky smooth and the crust was buttery. It could've been more crisp though. I liked the generous helping of meringue on top and the sweet honey drizzle. The honey gelato went well with the lemon, but in my opinion the pie was fine on its own.Verdict: Decent and hearty dishes. The meat dishes were definitely better than the pasta dishes. In hindsight, I should've tried their steak given that it was a "steak house".  繼續閱讀
