Anyway, 呢間餐廳嘅格調非常好。好似去咗法國當地嘅百年老餐廳一樣。上座後、又即刻有好幾個人去serve我哋及介紹menu、令我們覺得好warm… 這種服務水準係值得加許的。

食物又如可呢?都可算係十分滿意。

首先係頭盆:白汁青口。醬汁很濃、帶了一點白酒令青口嘅海鮮味揮發出來。口感一流 (4.5/5分)

Cream of Mushroom: 呢個西湯同個頭盆一樣…十分出式。一個好嘅忌廉湯最重要係夠creamy、濃郁… 呢個湯兩樣都做到。此外、呢個湯加咗碎粒蘑菇、飲起上來更有口感。(4.7/5分)

羊扒:煮好嘅羊扒最重要嘅祕訣就係要令到羊扒嘅肉質硬軟適中、香味要帶出。這塊羊扒就正做到這兩點。羊扒到嘅時候、可以聞到在羊扒嘅香草味。當羊扒放進口內咀嚼、這塊羊扒絕對唔會令你覺太硬或太軟… 加上Mint jelly呢個配搭、羊扒質感啱啱好!(4.7/5分)

Crème brûlée: 呢個甜品可算係4個菜之中、做得比較失敗嘅一個。要Crème brûlée好食嘅秘訣就係要面頭上個塊糖薄同埋蛋唔可以水汪汪軟軟的。最失敗就係餐廳正做唔到這兩點!!(2.5/5分)
** Update:我食完之後、我同個manager講咗呢兩點、而個manager同意我嘅意見、話下次會改進…一個星期後、同我一齊去食呢個晚餐嘅朋友又去多一次本餐廳、點了這個點品、亦同我講話有很大的進步。所以可以加分 (Update: 4/5分)

總括黎講、Le Fauchon可算是soho區嘅一間數一數二法國餐廳… 用呢個價錢有這樣嘅環境、服務、及食物都可以話「值」啦!

其實係早2個月既事喇, 當時同男朋友既屋企人去慶祝爸爸節。我同男朋友之前都有去話, 不過就係另一條街既分店。今次叫左2個388既餐, 包2碟鵝肝。我係一個唔鐘意食任何肝臟既人, 所以我本來就唔打算食呢樣野, 不過男朋友同佢家姐都話好好食, 所以我都試左少少。我唔識形容, 不過個味道係好味, 個面係香脆既感覺, 但入面係好滑, 入口即融, 而個汁好好味, 一D都唔似肝臟, 好甘香。可惜我賤骨頭, 食唔慣貴野, 最後都係食左2啖就俾男朋友瓜分左。點知食食下成座大廈停電......結果餐廳請我地食左個鵝肝.....我地就去左第2度食--勁唔好食又貴既地方 。食完之後呢間餐廳既經理就打黎話已經整返好, 叫我地去食個甜品, 有折。我地就返去食左個好好味既心太軟, 同cheese cake....個心太軟真係好香好好味。我地由Le Fauchon開始, 又o係Le Fauchon結束一次咁特別既爸爸節。

食完之後呢間餐廳既經理就打黎話已經整返好, 叫我地去食個甜品, 有折。我地就返去食左個好好味既心太軟, 同cheese cake....個心太軟真係好香好好味。
我地由Le Fauchon開始, 又o係Le Fauchon結束一次咁特別既爸爸節。

I came across recent reviews on Le Fauchon and can't help thinking if this is the same Le Fauchon in 2000 or 2001. It was hailed one of the best French restaurants in town then and they charged 5-star hotel prices for dining a shabby little box. I'm not sure if they still have tables upstairs, but say no if you're offered one -- the 7-ft headroom kinda amplifies the noise a lot and the canteen-like table arrangements are major deal-breakers (for that price). Besides, the only washroom is upstair

Besides, the only washroom is upstairs. The bright flourescent light from the washroom literally light up the whole place whenever someone opens the washroom door so that throughout a dinner, you experience day and night, night and day for at least 10 times.

Talking about over-the-top attentive service, I was waiting for my girlfriend for 30 minutes. Different waiters came and asked if i'm ready to order for at least 5 times during that 30 minutes. This should never happen in any classy restaurant as there should only be one waiter assigned to serve a table.

As far as food is concerned, I remember the foie gras was excellent (but it was steeply priced at HK$350 for 2 slices in 2000); I also had a seafood pasta dish which was so-so (but still steeply priced at around HK$300). Waiters did not push us to order wine, but mineral water came in 1.5-liter bottle and was around HK$80 per bottle. They don't provide tap water unless you do it yourself in the washroom.

I never ever dined in this place after that because for HK$850 per head, I expect not just good food, but also a whole dining experience which Le Fauchon failed to deliver.

By looking at the recent reviews, I guess Le Fauchon has compromised food quality in major ways. And, honestly, you can't expect much from a set dinner at HK$400 in Soho area. But still, if you're celebrating a special occasion, pick somewhere less crowded, and more quiet. It's not one of the place that you'd remember fondly of 10 years later.

一年一度與幾位舊朋友飯聚,我提議去老富昌,打電話去訂位時原來裝修,店員就介紹下一條街的姊妹店Le Fauchon。晚餐是四道菜的選擇,而主要是餐牌裡散叫的選擇,所以叫晚餐較為化算。未食頭盤前先有個welcome food是芝士酥條,但不夠酥香。餐包是明顯是來貨的法飽,由於烘到又熱又脆的關係,所以幾好食,朋友要求再添加。我們一行四人,所叫的每道菜也不同,可以嘗試多款口味。頭盤燒鵪鶉、煎鵝肝、海鮮併盤及燒虎蝦配芒果西柚Salsa。燒鵪鶉-只得細細的半隻,仍可嚼得肉嫩可口;煎鵝肝-我第一次食到全熟的鵝肝,意思是並沒有入口溶化,要經過咀嚼才可以送到胃裡。海鮮併盤-有蠔、蝦、螺等,新鮮度程一般,而螺洗得不夠徹底,細沙多得很。 湯是蘑菇忌廉湯、咖哩蟹肉湯及意大利青瓜忌廉湯。我是蘑菇湯味道非常之濃郁,還有粒粒蘑菇碎,增加口感,飲了半碗已半飽了。我還試了咖哩蟹肉湯,味道似咖哩魚蛋汁。中途有青檸雪芭來過冷河,味道不太酸不太甜,而質地較一般的雪芭重身,入口似gelato的感覺。主菜揀了燒鴨腿、燒羊扒、鮟康魚帶子串燒及燴牛仔肉。大家都認為燒鴨腿最精彩,燒得皮脆肉嫩,皮與內中間保留了少少脂肪,不會過份油膩,

湯是蘑菇忌廉湯、咖哩蟹肉湯及意大利青瓜忌廉湯。我是蘑菇湯味道非常之濃郁,還有粒粒蘑菇碎,增加口感,飲了半碗已半飽了。我還試了咖哩蟹肉湯,味道似咖哩魚蛋汁。

中途有青檸雪芭來過冷河,味道不太酸不太甜,而質地較一般的雪芭重身,入口似gelato的感覺。

主菜揀了燒鴨腿、燒羊扒、鮟康魚帶子串燒及燴牛仔肉。大家都認為燒鴨腿最精彩,燒得皮脆肉嫩,皮與內中間保留了少少脂肪,不會過份油膩,增加潤滑感。

燴牛仔肉-味道太過似中式炆牛腩,而且肉質好粗糙,差點消化不來。

甜品是橙味creme brulee、Tiramisu及蘋果卷。creme brulee味道太甜,而且可能焗時不夠時間,有點水旺旺狀態。Tiramisu味道很香很濃,mascarpone很滑溜香甜;蘋果卷是暖暖的,幸而肉桂味不重,不過外層的酥皮帶點韌,不鬆化。

招呼頗親切,就算我們不要餐酒或飲品,也沒有面色給我們。只得食物味道平平,加一後每人$440,有點不值。

I have been there more than 5 times in the last 2 years with my boyfriend.We order the set lunch everytime as the price is reasonable.The GOOSE LIVER is excellent and the size is relative big compares to other western restaurant.The soup of the day is delicious everytime when we order it.Long story short, I will go back again for dinner because I have joined their VIP discount today.P.S. Sometimes you will find some people who believe they are amazing in the restaurant.

我們由一間差得很的餐廳轉到此間高水準的餐廳慶祝2年紀念日.大貓的笑容再現.我當然都開心.今次是第二次來到此間機構的餐廳食飯..我是去了另一間同在半山的老富昌食飯.服務好, 食品水準高,我們叫了一set 2人海鮮餐.好好味,我們大家都食到好滿足及開心盡慶而走.大貓提我必定要上來給此間餐廳評語.好好好!!

5 of us went for dinner at Soho, this is actually my second visit. Service was excellent. We all chose the set dinner HK$208, 4-course set, there are at least 8 choices for each course, +$80 for the choice of foie gras as appetizer.

1. Appetizer - Foie gras or other choices
2. Soup - onion soup or lobster soup
3. Main course - lamb chop or duck or beef
4. Dessert

The foie gras (煎鵝肝) was delicious, and the size is big! I tried the same course at another Japanese restaurant with the same price, but the foie gras was way smaller.

Onion soup is good, at Paris level (given that I travelled to Paris from time to time). My friends had lobster soup, they said it tastes good, but I didn't taste so won't leave a comment here.

For main course, I had duck, honestly not very appealing but the side dish is well prepared. Dessert was perfect! Mine was chocolate cake with creamy chocolate sause inside, sided with Vanilla ice-cream. Since vanilla ice-cream is not my favorite, the manager nicely changed lime sorbet for me, which adds as an important credit.

Bill was $1700 for 5 people including tips. If you aren't used to pay this amount for dinner, no matter how good the food is, you won't find it worthwhile.

The most important element of a good French restaurant is how details are served:
- each course came the same time for people on the entire table
- flexibility to adjust side dish
- set dinner with abundant choice of dishes
- **good food of course

**I start realizing how Hong Kong people rate "good food". Something they find NEW and never tried before. I'm 27 years old now, not an "old cake" yet, but I think youngsters here should learn how to appreciate old TRADITIONAL food. What's called "fusion" now won't last, only the traditionals sustain.

I believe Le Fauchon has achieved its goal to provide good traditional food.

其實10年前跟男朋友拍拖時亦曾在此晚饍, 當時覺得非常普通. 最近開始在附近一帶試lunch set, 本來是要去隔壁的pacific grill, 因為之前吃過非常好, 但又忍不住想試一下其他地方, 最後便選了這家餐廳.我與老公分別點了roasted duck breast salad, pork tenderloin, 燒春雞及lentil soup, 甜品是marble chocolate cake.Duck breast salad的鴨及dressing都毫無特別, pork tenderloin燒得還可以. lentil soup其實是broth加了lentils, 也是非常普通. 即使我再到此餐廳都一定不會再吃. 春雞就其差無比, 明顯是一早燒好了再返熱, 所以又乾又鞋. 當我們向侍應反映, 他竟然說燒的雞都是這樣了, 否則又恐怕燒不熟, 不如多給我們一點燒汁! 大佬, 他是否以為我們未吃過春雞? 至於配菜的薯仔及蔬菜, 也是一般. 甜品也是叫人慘不忍睹, 那個蛋糕的口感, 比我到超市買一盒betty crocker的蛋糕粉做還不如, 又粗又鞋又太甜, 蛋糕上

如果你已行到此餐廳, 那一定要走到隔壁的pacific grill, 食物的水準真的令人感到那份誠意, 價錢也差不多.

同老闆去左soho區亂打亂撞去左間類似法國餐廳內進食...其實個名已經令我覺得似曾相識好似係德福內某間集團式既餐廳, 但係明明係德福食好平架...點解係soho就貴左咁多呢???唔理啦都坐底左唔通唔食咩...2舍人叫左一個set dinner及一客意粉...set dinner由前菜至甜品都有好多選擇...頭盤我地叫左個seafood platter...個酥皮小盒係送既不過絕不"媽虎"味道一流..只係個頭盤既凍蝦認真唔新鮮..其他如蠔, 螺都十分美味十分感激係佢地既服務, 由於我地叫一個set dinner所以要同老闆share食..點知就連餐湯onion soup都同我地分上仲要每人面頭都有麵包同芝士個份量係一半既...真係多謝曬你地既細心..中場送止青檸sobert俾你清一清之前既味道才上主菜主菜要左羊扒連埋散叫既大蝦意粉一同上又一次既細心; 羊扒十分可口老闆讚不絕口; 我就比較喜歡個意粉d蝦好正意粉又彈口唔會一pat pat...最後甜品我選左我至愛tiramisu老闆只係飲餐飲-檸茶...個甜品真係好正好滑...十分開心一餐咁豐富既晚餐係每人$300左右都唔算費啦.服務及食物

十分感激係佢地既服務, 由於我地叫一個set dinner所以要同老闆share食..點知就連餐湯onion soup都同我地分上仲要每人面頭都有麵包同芝士個份量係一半既...真係多謝曬你地既細心..中場送止青檸sobert俾你清一清之前既味道才上主菜
主菜要左羊扒連埋散叫既大蝦意粉一同上又一次既細心; 羊扒十分可口老闆讚不絕口; 我就比較喜歡個意粉d蝦好正意粉又彈口唔會一pat pat...
最後甜品我選左我至愛tiramisu老闆只係飲餐飲-檸茶...個甜品真係好正好滑...十分開心一餐咁豐富既晚餐係每人$300左右都唔算費啦.服務及食物都中上

p.s...我係佢地既濕紙巾上証明左佢地係有分店在德福, 沙田..此店既中文名為老富昌呀...

Probably there is a typo - you call this an 'Italian restaurant' although it serves French food and gets a French name. I went there for dinner with a couple of friends last week. I shared a Caesar salad and a seafood platter with a friend, and I ordered Bouillabaisse as main dish. The seafood platter was disappointing and the Chablis (there was only one Chablis in the wine list) was disastrous. However, the Bouillabaisse was surprisingly good and as far as I can remember the price was quite

The seafood platter was disappointing and the Chablis (there was only one Chablis in the wine list) was disastrous. However, the Bouillabaisse was surprisingly good and as far as I can remember the price was quite reasonable. I cannot recall the price of each item but at 600 bucks per head, I think there are a lot of better choices in that area.

我就覺得Le Fauchon每一間既水準都唔同, 好參差。沙田&九龍灣都唔係太得(食物和service),不過尖沙咀個間又幾好個喎!

今日同個friend去食Lunch, 叫左2個Set Lunch1) bread + soup + 香菇意粉+ dessert + drink ($68)(2) bread + sweet shrimp + curry grilled chicken + dessert + drink ($98)個bread 同sweet shrimp ok.soup - 一般, 好希.香菇意粉-D菇ok, 意粉極鹹, 食左小半冇食curry grilled chicken - 一般dessert (紅酒梨) - 唔好食, baddrink - normal 同waiter投訴意粉極鹹, 佢除左"下"一聲之外, 冇其他反應, 態度麻麻地下次一定唔去

I had lunch with a good friend of mine at this Restaurant. We ordered white wine and the set lunch. Ceasar salad is tasty but the sea bass is very fishy. It spoiled our appetite!!!When we told the manager that we did not like the seabass, he told us that he has tried the seabass and it was NOT fishy at all. Anyway, he did not charge us the set lunch, but I think I won't come anymore.
