As a French food lover, it is in my blood to try every decent French restaurant that is available in Hong Kong. Friend of mine said this one was an interesting one to try so we went. Their tasting menu is set at $888, a pretty lucky number! Unfortunately the experience was not so lucky. I would think that given the price they charge, they would be more detailed in services and especially on the explanation on the dishes they served, hearing is a part of eating! I thought that was done poorly, dishes were served and we were told that it's "lamb", "dessert", "terrine" etc. which tells me the ingredients but does not give me anything else. Impressive dishes were the tortellini and the lamb, however it's just merely on a relative scale. I expected a lot more and I don't think this place is able to deliver. Certainly they try to be the fine dinning type looking for a price tag in the fine dinning category, but they can't really achieve that standard. Not sure if it's worth visiting again. 繼續閱讀

My boyfriend and I  were in SoHo looking for a place to have dinner, and spotted the beautiful restaurant front of BELON. We peeked inside and it was just as gorgeous and the menu had a lot of interesting dishes, so we decided to try it. We're so glad we did. There was a bit of a wait since we didn't have a reservation, so we started upstairs with some cocktails. The room feels just like you are in Paris.  I feel like it's an undiscovered gem. It was quiet and sophisticated, fancy but casual. The cocktail list was not very big, or fussy. All the drinks were very classy and not gimmicky. We finished our drinks then headed to dinner. We had a great waiter named Henry and he recommended we start with the bread. I am not usually a bread person but this was amazing. The crust was chewy and the interior was full of big bubbles. We also had an uni puff which was like heaven and a yummy sardine. We then had the salad nicoise which was very light and a burrata with fruit tomatoes. Yum. For our mains, we shared a whole dover sole and another dish of morel mushrooms. We were so full but cleaned our plates anyways because it was all so good. We weren't going to have dessert because we were so stuffed, but my boyfriend finally convinced me to get the Japanese strawberry dish and we were fighting over the last bites of it. The chef Daniel came out at the end of the meal and gave us some freshly made madeleines which had a hint of orange.  The perfect end to a perfect dinner.We will definitely be coming back! Chef Daniel said the menu changes daily so we can't wait to see what else BELON has up its sleeve. 繼續閱讀

聽過好多人都有介紹過,但係一直都未搵到機會嚟試下,今次終於約埋個朋友嚟食好西。今次選擇嚟食週未嘅午餐,見到佢地平日晚餐嘅價錢都唔平,所以知道價錢只係450到一個人嘅時候就以為份量唔會多,但係我同朋友走嘅時候真係飽到行唔到。一坐低待應就即刻放低一籃暖笠笠嘅sourdough麵包,麵包餐廳每日自家焗,加上一磚法國海鹽牛油,打一打個底。隨後即刻送上每人一隻新鮮法國生蠔,生蠔size唔算話好大但係就非常肥美,好鮮甜。食完生蠔之後就上咗一碟dried ham同埋每人一碟shima aji嘅salad,本人好鍾意個dressing配上shima aji嘅味道,我覺得好能夠帶出shima aji本身嘅鮮味。食完salad就嚟重頭戲 - 焗雞。待應會先將原隻雞帶到嚟你枱面比你影吓相先,影完相之後佢就會將隻雞帶返入廚房拆件。拆完件之後就會連埋薯蓉同菜,兩款side dish一齊上。焗雞好嫩好juicy,而薯蓉就滑到好似puree咁。不得不提嘅就係呢個法式拿破崙,因為真係好鬆化好flaky。為一餐悠閒嘅午餐畫上完美句號。$450一個lunch絕對唔係平,但係食物嘅品質同水準真係值回票價。推介朋友生日或者係其他特別日子嚟食餐好嘅。 繼續閱讀

I had been so excited to dine at Belon for a long time, ever since I saw they got on Asia's top 50. I was finally able to go for my birthday dinner with my boyfriend. We were seated right when we got there and the staff was very professional and personable. The atmosphere was nice and not stuffy but still upscale. We started with their amuse bouche, the Comte cheese which was to die for! I could have eaten an entire bowl of those. The perfect bite before an insanely good meal. Of course, we had to order the signature pigeon which is one of the most strikingly beautiful dishes I've had as well as delicious. Everything from start to finish, from the service to the wine to the food, was great, and the staff was able to make me and my boyfriend feel really special and it's definitely the best birthday dinner I've had so far. Yes, it's pricey, but its well well worth it!!Also, they have really cool bathrooms! 繼續閱讀

Had the set lunch on a busy Saturday. A lot of courses, so expect to be there for 2 hours. Most were very good, especially the appetizer. The mixed drinks were very delicious and strong. Expensive but worth it. Service was a bit overwhelming and over attentive. A good place for a splurge date. 繼續閱讀
