Barg 在為食朋友圈子聞名已久, 預知今日活動範圍在港島區, 早在一個星期已訂好位來試試他們的30天BB乳豬。餐廳燈光柔和溫暖, 裝修走復古帶點型格的路線, 舒服的sofa 配復古木椅及樸素木餐枱, 讓人溫暖又舒服。Classic 復古木椅, 令人愛不釋手, 縱使不能擁有, 也會多望兩眼每張木椅圖案各有不同, 非常獨特。自選$388及$438晚餐Shadow's Run Chardonnay Fox Creek 2013 ($65)細閱完 wine list, 選了這款我最愛的 fruity white wine, 入口滿滿的清新果香, 緩緩吞下, 冰涼清爽, 舌頭還帶著桃、杏及菠蘿等生果的清香餘韻。4款餐包配原隻焗蒜 (free)十分抗拒生洋蔥及生蒜的味道, 這個焗蒜頭軟綿綿又不失蒜香, 很好味, 4款餐包均熱辣辣、軟綿綿, 滿滿的麥香, 我選了香草包及黑糖包, 香草包清新鬆軟, 黑糖包則微甜軟棉, 熱辣辣的麵包真的很好味。塗上香草牛油食會更香口, 但我鍾意裸食, 鬆軟帶麥香的原始味道是我的至愛。羽衣甘藍牛油果沙律 ($98)沙律材料非常豐富, 除了主打的羽衣甘藍, 還有松子、車尼茄、牛油果、無花果及洋蔥等。入口……沙律汁好正, 不止平時的陳醋橄欖油咁簡單, 有點果香, 甜酸得黎似果醋, 但又唔系咁似……… 越諗越想知這個沙律汁怎樣調較, 終於忍唔住開口問服務員, 原來系檸檬汁加蜜糖, 喺屋企自己試吓調嚟配沙律先香辣肉腸煮青口 ($168)用上澳洲青口bb, 青口肉細少, 但肉嫩細滑, 西班牙式煮法, 以蕃茄及辣肉腸煮成, 香香辣辣很惹味, 我則略嫌味道太濃, 有點搶了青口的海鮮鮮味, 我本屬意忌廉蒜香白汁青口的, 奈何友人想試香辣肉腸, 今晚老娘心情好, 將就他一下吧。烤乳豬配蘋果醬 ($218)絕不取巧的乳豬, 餐廳用30日大的豬bb烤成的乳豬件。不單止豬系bb, 連配菜的蘆筍、番茄及薯仔都系bb, 蘆筍非常清脆嫩口30日大的bb 豬, 肉質細緻嫩滑, 豬皮烤得卜卜脆, 堪稱皮脆肉嫩, 始終係豬bb, 肥肉脂肪不多, 肥瘦適中, 豬本身已經醃制過有味道, 不點醬已經夠味, 配甜酸蘋果醬則即時起了畫龍點睛的效果, 蘋果醬食得出淡淡的新鮮青蘋果清香, 塗上豬件伴食, 讓豬件香脆得嚟帶點酸爽, 油膩感即時大減, 好食 繼續閱讀

Godbro XO has become obsessed with minions!  I thought he was done saving the Mannings stickers after getting the backpack, but he was aiming for the suitcase as well!  I've become an enabler in his obsession, and I have been making all my medical and healthcare purchases at Mannings and saving the stickers for him.  He told me how many stickers he still needed when we had dinner together Wednesday night, and I went to Mannings to do some shopping on Thursday, and with my stash, he had enough stickers for the suitcase.  He couldn't even wait when I told him about the stickers, and he insisted that we had to meet on Thursday, and dinner would on him at a restaurant of my choice!  I've been meaning to visit Barg for ages since I have a friend who's been posting her birthday dinner pictures on FB for a few years, and the food looked really tempting!  We met up as soon as XO got out of work, so he could get the suitcase, then we went to Barg for dinner.The decor at Barg is pretty cozy with comfortable couch-like seating on one side and comfy chairs on the other side.Since XO is buying and everyone who reads his reviews knows that XO enjoys his happy hour, I got a cider and he got a beer.  I don't see Angry Orchard Ciders a lot in Hong Kong, so I was happily surprised.  In true minion fashion, we cheered, "kanpai!" with my cold cider and XO's cold beer!We had a carb heavy dinner the previous night, so I opted to order a salad and a couple seafood dishes and decided to share a main.The bread in the bread basket were hot to the touch, and my plan to curb carbs was scratched right away.  Yummy yummy bread!We had pretty much no veggies at dinner the previous night, so I insisted that XO must eat this Kale Salad no matter what he thinks of kale!  The Kale Salad with Avocado and Honey Lime Dressing was really good!  The honey lime dressing gave the salad a citrus burst and balanced out the bitterness of the kale.  And, you can call me a millennial, but I love my avocado!My mom had a very memorable bouillabaisse in the south of France years ago, and we have an on-going search of something similar for years!  So, if bouillabaisse is on the menu, I'll probably order it.  The calamari and prawns had a nice bouncy texture while the clams and mussels were nice and plump.  The various seafood went perfectly with the tomato-based broth!  Mussels with Spicy Chorizo Sauce--The mussels were of the smaller variety, but they were still nice and plump!  The chorizo gave the tomato-based sauce a delectable spicy kick!Roasted Suckling Pig with Apple Jam--This dish was definitely the highlight of the evening!  The skin of the suckling pig was perfectly crunchy, yet the meat remained tender!  The fruity apple jam was a perfect match for the salinity of the pork!   The roasted tomatoes bursted in my mouth and filled it with sweet tomato juice!  The asparagus spears were light and crunchy!Tiramisu-- This tiramisu was a nice conclusion to our meal!  The lady fingers were soaked to the right level and topped with smooth creamy mascarpone cream!Thanks again XO for the yummy dinner, or as the minions would say, "Tank yu!" 繼續閱讀

最驚喜的生日飯 焦點食評

好友帶了我去她的飯堂, 說要給我吃好東西. 餐牌上, 套餐的食物不太吸引我們, 於是決定散點食物.暖暖的餐前包, 富有濃郁麵粉香, 就算不加牛油已覺好吃了.兩人分享了一客野菌蘑菇湯, 靚仔經理沒介紹錯, 這湯真的異常特別. 它不是走creamy的路線, 但它勝在由大量蘑菇碎煮成的. 那種每口都是菇碎的感覺, 的確令人飽足.好友說, 白酒煮鮮蜆是必點的, 哇, 大蜆真可以用巨大來形容, 蜆殼和蜆肉也超巨型的. 雖然如此, 但蜆肉仍爽彈無比, 鮮甜味美. 好友大讚的蟹肉虎蝦多士, 的確是又睇得, 又食得. 滿滿的蟹肉放在連著蝦頭的虎蝦上, 而虎蝦則俯臥在多士之上. 多士雖然只是微熱, 但仍是超脆口. 而虎蝦的肉質甚是扎實, 回彈力高, 配著蟹肉吃, 加倍滋味.這件五成熟的美國頂級牛柳也不賴, 沒有overcooked之餘, 也沒有流出恐怖的血水. 肉味頗濃郁, 脂肪不多, 卻又嫩滑肉汁多, 很讚.烤乳豬, 可以用皮脆肉嫩來形容. 皆因它的乳豬皮, 相比很多中式酒樓所弄的乳豬皮, 更薄更脆卜卜, 皮下脂肪甚少, 肉質亦幼滑細緻. 不要忘記伴碟的法邊豆, 既新鮮又爽脆, 用來清一清味蕾就最合適不過了.壓軸出場的甜品, 有法式焦糖燉蛋及心太軟. 沒想到友人已細心地囑咐餐廳在碟子上寫上祝福字句哩. 雖然時常製造這些生日驚喜給朋友, 但自己卻甚少收到. 當看到這碟甜品時, 心中的確有莫名的驚喜和感動.  說回甜品吧, 老實說, 法式焦糖燉蛋的焦糖層頗為厚身, 要使勁地才能以叉子破開它. 幸好內裡的燉蛋尚算幼滑, 蛋香味濃, 甜度亦低. 至於心太軟, 用匙羹打破它後, 朱古力漿隨之緩緩流出來. 是濃稠的, 卻又有少許苦澀, 綴以雪糕來品嚐, 可享雙重口感的果效.感謝好友的生日飯, 更感謝她給我的生日驚喜, 真的, 謝謝你! 繼續閱讀

週四下午收到契妹來電,告知已成功為小肥契哥集齊印花換購迷你兵團行李箱,收咗工第一時間就去咗購物。以表謝意,XO仔都好識做地請食晚飯,地點就由靚女揀咗喺「Barg」。店子以木為主o既裝設,配上前後兩排合併式散座,環境簡潔清爽。牆上寫出每日精選項目o既黑板仲加有手繪圖案,製作相當認真。啱啱又收集多個迷你兵,時光咁歡樂,兩契兄妹當然係要碰碰杯,賀一賀佢啦!小肥有新玩具玩,點選食物就交由契妹一手包辦。麵包籃:熱烘烘o既麵包共有四款,均軟熟甜美。羽衣甘藍牛油果沙律($98):放咗幾日「菜假」後,契妹叮囑小肥晚餐一定要食沙律,仲專登揀咗個營養價值出名高o既羽衣甘藍沙律。深綠色o既羽衣甘藍爽脆健康,伴上潤滑o既牛油果同醋,很是開胃。野菌蘑菇湯($68):以雜菌打成蓉o既蘑菇湯足料得黎菇味芳香,個人只係略嫌唔夠咸。烤乳豬配蘋果醬($218):主菜烤BB豬皮層超級乾巧脆卜卜,肉質幼嫩香濃,輕輕塗上蘋果醬更覺清新,可謂整晚之最!這個夏天有迷你兵兵陪伴左右,XO仔有戲睇、多咗文具用、有新玩具喺手、週四晚仲買埋搶眼o既行李箱,旅行都可以帶埋兵團遊山玩水,當真令人十分興奮!多得契妹介紹,購物完喺「Barg」品嚐到超脆o既BB豬,味蕾彷彿也跟迷你兵兵一同可愛起來,勁high! 繼續閱讀

百樂中心一向多野食,每次去到銅鑼灣諗唔到食咩都去望下。今次比我地發現電梯旁零零舍舍有條樓梯,原來係去2樓的Bar n Restaurant。門口招牌同內裡裝修的風格都有種vintage的味道。亦隱隱透露美式風情。食物選擇好多好豐富,估唔到竟然有海膽刺身食,仲有我最愛的Cod Fish。先試下佢地的包包,軟綿綿熱辣辣。牛油有香草味,仲配有原個烤蒜,夠哂誠意。蘑菇湯好厚身味道好濃郁。海膽原來一份係甘大!加拿大海膽本來size已經好大,一客有成5、6瓣,兩三個人食都夠分。用紫菜包著軟滑海膽,入口慢慢散出濃濃的海水味膽海膽鮮味,正。Cod Fish賣相唔算十分好,但絕對係實力之作。魚肉表面煎香,表皮有少少脆;肉質非常之滑溜。味道好鮮香,魚油味重,沾上醬汁更精彩。而老公點的沙律同牛扒,同樣地十分令人滿意。整體之言,每一樣食物都真係好好食,又夠大份。而且服務都幾唔錯,值回票價。去到百樂大廈,唔想排長長的lift龍,或者barg會是你的選擇。 繼續閱讀
