Consumption voucher and we decided to have a steak for dinner. Looking over what seemed interesting we decided on a place called 52C Medium Rare. This is actually the temperature of medium rare steak if you use a thermometer when cooking.Located  in Jordan, just a walk away from Kowloon Park is a very minimalistic looking building. They serve steak cooked in either yakiniku (over a grill) or ishiyaki (over a hot stone). It's individual dining as you get your own grill or stone to yourself so you don't even need to share. They have two floors. The top is for yakiniku. The ground floor is for ishiyaki.Menu is in English and Chinese.  They offer sets along with a la carte.Ordering is done by choosing what you want on a touch screen display. This is also in English and Chinese with photo of everything.As the yakiniku area was full, we chose the ishiyaki option. A very hot stone with meat was placed on top. Set comes with a bowl of rice, salad and borscht soup.  For the meat option, you choose the cut of beef and how many grams. As we had never been here, we decide to choose 180g option.The set salad was basic salad greens that were fresh with a drizzle of sesame salad dressing.The borscht soup was a bit on spicy side with lots of vegetables inside so this was quite filling.Boyfriend ordered the Beef Boneless Short Rib ($178 for 180g). The beef was very juicy with a good strong beef taste.I had the Hanging Tender ($158 for 180g) and this was actually better than the short rib as it was more juicy. Literally didn't need to chew as there was a good degree of marbeling. A much better value as well.We've been to a number of these restaurants in Hong Kong. The concept is nothing new. But what  stood out for me was how clean this place was. Majority of these places, the seating is cramped. Usually bar style seating arrangement. Against a wall with all the seasonings above you. But here, you sit at a table so larger groups can eat together more easily. It was also extremely clean. So many I've been to, they have always been greasy  from all the oil sizzling off the stone. But here, it wasn't. They really cleaned the tables and area so nothing felt slippery.  It made for a much nicer dining experience and the price wasn't any more expensive than their competition. 今日去佐敦食晏,呢間52C Medium Rare第一個感覺好似文青cafe,但原來係食燒肉嘅。雖然地方唔算好大,但餐廳設有兩層,樓下主力做石燒同定食。裝修簡約舒服,採光度高,通風系統做得唔錯,食完燒肉都唔會一陣味,就算出面35度高溫,喺呢度食燒肉都唔會覺得辛苦。下晝行到攰仲可以入嚟飲杯特飲,食啲小食,傾下計都幾chill。樓上嘅網燒環境都唔錯,自助形式為主,鍾意freestyle嘅就啱晒。呢度嘅牛肉選用咗400日嘅美國殼飼牛,我哋首先選擇咗牛小排石燒套餐。牛小排屬於牛嘅胸肋骨部位,脂肪含量較高,充滿大理石紋,肉質鮮美。調味料有蒜蓉燒汁同黑椒鹽,不過我覺得靚牛咩都唔使落,食原汁原味就已經最好味。另外就選擇咗封門柳石燒套餐。封門柳其實係牛嘅橫膈膜肌肉,每隻牛只有一條,數量珍貴,肉味最重,油花就較少,口感更勝牛小排。套餐仲配有前菜沙律,係新鮮沙律菜配芝麻醬。餐湯係羅宋湯,酸酸美味又多蔬菜。白飯用上珍珠米,所以粒粒飽滿,配牛肉食真係可以食多幾碗飯。我朋友唔想飲凍飲,店員特登去攞罐冇雪過嘅茶,呢啲細心位值得加分。原來佢哋仲有外帶套餐,橫掂屋企有烤爐,下次可以嚟幫襯。 繼續閱讀

這間以純白色和木色為主,裝修得很似cafe的一人燒肉店叫52°c mediumrare. 樓高兩層,下層食石燒,上層食網燒。餐廳設自助售票機,先買飛,後入座。員工會細心介紹餐廳食物。餐廳提供多款套餐,可以選擇日本A5和牛、牛小排、封門柳、牛肩、牛舌、下腰西冷和五花腩等。每個套餐亦有不同的重量可選,包沙律、白飯及餐湯, 可以免費refill 一次。除左一人餐,亦有二人及四人餐,連小食都有提供。經員工介紹,最後選了石燒,一份是180g 的下腰西冷($148),一份是180g的封門柳。石燒是用一塊熱度十足的石板,放上已輕輕燒過的牛肉,上枱後再按個人喜好來控制牛肉熟成度,以高溫來鎖住肉汁。 封門柳是我近年比較喜歡食的牛肉部位,因為肉質鬆軟,燒耐了都不易變韌,牛肉味比較濃郁。而下腰西冷,纖維比較多,相對肉質會比較粗一點,有嚼頭,口感則鲜嫩,但西冷則不可以燒得太耐。 繼續閱讀
