And we love this chocolate fondant with pistachio ice cream. Creamy and chocolaty!
This is one of the best romantic entanglements a good chocolate fondant is hot and intense with a meltingly soft centre!!

Love this memorable dinner.
The waitresses were also very attentive and hospitable as well. Would definitely come back for this restaurant again!

Went there a second time and tried their a la carte items this time. This times things were not that rushed and it was more relaxed.Despite being a lobster bar, the onion soup is just as good as their lobster bisque. It was sweet and rich and the amount of onions were just as much as the soup.The lobster cappelini was served with the pan fried lobster. Despite being a lobster bar, the onion soup is just as good as their lobster bisque. It was sweet and rich and the amount of onions were just as much as the soup.

I guess I was a bit having high hopes for the strawberry tart as it said there was sichuan pepper in the mousse but it turned out to be a normal albeit good strawberry tart. Just no surprises.

The surprise came with the creme brulee. Many times the custard is too much compared to the crispy caramel but this one was perfect. The sweetness was just right despite all the caramel. Definitely order it if you come.

主菜方面,有原隻波士頓龍蝦或半隻龍蝦拼牛扒、三文魚及黃油雞等等。占苗選擇了半隻龍蝦拼慢煮法國黃雞雞胸,而且用上特別的昆布湯水煮來烹調,一改以往不是燒就是焗的煮法。

一嚐之下,用上昆布湯水煮過的波士頓龍蝦不但非常鮮美,肉質更是幼嫩彈牙,從未吃過如此嫩滑的龍蝦肉,實在驚喜。相對地,黃雞雞胸給比下去了,雞胸肉不夠嫩口,幸好雞皮烤得香口,挽回了不少分數。

友人們則點上自製Surf & Turf,即燒烤龍蝦拼烤美國黑安格斯牛柳,份量十足,牛柳烤得恰到好處,中心呈櫻桃紅色。另一位友人則點上龍蝦拼香草紐西蘭皇帝三文魚,嫩滑得來又美味,只是略為覺得切成條狀很可愛。因大家各自點上不同的主菜,而醬汁又有六款選擇,正好可配上不同食材,味道也相當不錯。

第一次來,周六午餐時間,地方高雅,待應有禮。但發覺周六沒有了慕名而來,陣容浩大的weekend brunch,改為龍蝦配搭自助沙律,飲品 free flow的午餐,甜品是餐車中選。沙律 bar 略為簡單,鯷魚,鴨胸,西班牙火腿,芝士盤等,味道倒是不錯。主菜我選了傳統法式焗全龍蝦,同伴選了半只燒龍蝦配牛柳,龍蝦相當出色,牛柳相對普通,餐包了紅,白酒,普通,也包了分別兩款 cocktail 和 mocktail,杏味香檳和芒果烏龍都很不錯,聽說這兒曾拿過world best 50 bar 的銜頭。最後的甜品,雪糕也是非常好,帶醉回家去😂

Recently Golden Circle members can enjoy a 20% discount for their signature set menu so I decided to go. I ordered champagne but while I was still only half way through, the first glass of wine was already poured(as I chose the wine pairing). Last but not least would be the chocolate fondant. It was at just the right temperature with a molten centre. However, the pistachio ice cream was a bit overshadowed by the fondant.

Overall, it was a great dinner. I would wish the service can be less rushed in the future so the customer can thoroughly enjoy the meal.

The dining room is at one and the same time imposing and cushy. It's a place that's somewhere in-between a casual hang and a white tablecloth joint. The menu appears to be Chinese-inspired "Western", with locally perceived Western classics that should nevertheless satisfy an international audience (we are, in a hotel, after all). Aside from a selection of specialties from the grill, appetizers and other mains feature lobster and other seafood. If you're hungry, you are going to be tempted by something from pretty much every section of this menu.

I decided to go for a garden salad and a boiled lobster. My partner went for grilled lobster. Apart from boiled and grilled, one could also have it Mornay or Thermidor style. That would be a little heavy for us, so we went for plainer.

Our stay at the restaurant was very brief, but the experience was pleasant overall. Servers were polite, though there was very little interaction between hosts and diners. We might just return another day to check out other items on the menu.

今年男朋友仔生日,因為上年食咗日本菜,所以好快決定咗食西餐!有好多人鍾意生日食buffet,但我就鍾意fine dining,因為浪漫d嘛~咁食西餐都要有個主題先得嘅~我好努力咁收窄咗範圍,就係生蠔同龍蝦兩個之中揀一個,我好努力唔想比佢知嘅情況下試探佢口風,最後決定就食以龍蝦為主題嘅生日燭光晚餐!上網search過,原來港島香格里拉正正就有間以龍蝦做主題嘅fine dining,人一世物一世,點都要去試下!餐廳個logo都有隻好Cute 嘅龍蝦,好鬼攪笑!我哋book咗6點鐘,當時得我哋一枱客同兩、三個人喺吧枱。好開心可以靜靜地咁坐下傾下偈,慢慢影下相,再慢慢睇下menu。(前年去TST某酒店食西餐,點知......比隔離枱10幾人嘈到即刻想走!唔好得罪女人,我好記仇㗎!)而且餐廳有一排落地玻璃窗,呢個時間啱啱天未黑,有充足嘅光線射入餐廳,同入夜後外面燈光較暗相比,兩種唔同嘅感覺!環境舒服,令人不知不覺就坐咗幾個鐘都唔會覺得耐。7點幾影嘅,之後掛住影食物同有其他客人,冇再影餐廳lu!由於我訂枱時有特別要求坐「背脊有魚缸嘅圓枱」,佢全間餐廳一共有3張,我哋坐正中間果張,一路食嘢一路有海底

我哋book咗6點鐘,當時得我哋一枱客同兩、三個人喺吧枱。好開心可以靜靜地咁坐下傾下偈,慢慢影下相,再慢慢睇下menu。(前年去TST某酒店食西餐,點知......比隔離枱10幾人嘈到即刻想走!唔好得罪女人,我好記仇㗎!)
而且餐廳有一排落地玻璃窗,呢個時間啱啱天未黑,有充足嘅光線射入餐廳,同入夜後外面燈光較暗相比,兩種唔同嘅感覺!環境舒服,令人不知不覺就坐咗幾個鐘都唔會覺得耐。

由於我訂枱時有特別要求坐「背脊有魚缸嘅圓枱」,佢全間餐廳一共有3張,我哋坐正中間果張,一路食嘢一路有海底奇兵睇,哈哈!

其實決定嚟之後,我已經上網睇過menu,最後我哋叫咗2個Signature set menu。另外叫咗時令menu 入面一個以白蘆筍為主嘅Appetiser!話明時令,所以成日唔同㗎,餐廳會不時update 個新menu上網站,去之前可以參考返!

呢類餐廳枝水都係收費,大約$100左右,通常有sparkling water 同distilled water。

Sharngro-La Juice / Island Supreme
因為我哋唔飲酒,而呢喥cocktail 亦唔多選擇,我哋揀曬兩杯以生果為主嘅。
紅色係西瓜同basil,味道一般,唔太特別。黃色係菠蘿、芒果、檸檬同熱情果,味道較酸,不過我鍾意!

藍蟹肉餅配香草蛋黃醬
選用含高維生素B12嘅藍蟹肉,加上羅勒同麵包糠酥炸做成蟹肉餅 。炸到外表香脆嘅蟹肉餅看似好邪惡, 但實質沒有想像中咁熱氣。 外脆內軟嘅口感,加埋用青檸帶出蟹肉嘅鮮香,係泰國菜嘅味道呀!雖然外表較深色好似炸過左火,但佢係我暫時食過最好味既蟹餅!

香煎鴨肝配白露筍
露筍Asparagus,一個來自希臘語嘅名,解作嫩芽,原產喺南歐地中海中部,品種共有20多種,最常見嘅係青露筍,而White Asparagus白露筍則係最矜貴嘅,有「皇子蔬菜」之稱。
每年四月至六月係蘆筍當造嘅季節,咁點解白蘆筍比綠蘆筍珍貴呢?主要係白露筍需要特別照顧!因為喺種植期間要防止莖身接觸到陽光而產生葉綠素變成綠色,同時為咗保持潔白嘅顏色亦要喺蘆荀接觸陽光前採摘,先可以種到白蘆筍。所以白露筍嘅產量、價格等,自然比一般青露筍矜貴得多。加上蘆筍生長過程繁複,必須經過大約三年嘅悉心種植才長出幼芽,而且佢絕對係健康食品,含有豐富維他命C、鈣及鏻,營養價值甚高,更具利尿功效。
有煮過露筍嘅朋友都知不論係青露筍定白露筍,外層都一樣有一層粗硬嘅纖維包住,唔識處理嘅話煮完之後會係苦澀有渣。我自己都有一次煮白露筍嘅經驗,同處理青露筍一樣,用刨從頭以下約2吋地方起開始向尾部刨,但一定要刨得夠狠,大約將露筍表面3層都刨去,刨好嘅露筍手感會較幼滑。

白蘆筍味道甘香清甜,口感幼嫩細緻,配上乾煎嘅鴨肝,油脂香濃,口感綿密 ,加少少紅苺果醬一齊食,清香又解膩。兩樣嘢放埋一齊出奇地夾!

橙紅色嘅龍蝦湯, 味道濃郁入口軟滑,加入白蘭地,除咗去除龍蝦嘅腥味,仲帶出咗龍蝦嘅鮮味,仲有兩粒彈牙嘅龍蝦肉㖭!

我哋揀咗傳統燒焗,龍蝦肉爽口彈牙,鮮甜無比,加埋上面嘅芝士、蛋黄醬汁,龍蝦肉連埋隻鉗放返入去一陣焗,好容易入口!同中式煮法好大分別,唔洗自己拆殼就可以成隻龍蝦食晒!

烤波士頓龍蝦配美國黑安格斯牛柳
龍蝦雖然燒烤過,但肉質唔會乾晒,仍然保持到果種爽彈!簡單做法可以食到龍蝦原有嘅鮮甜~!
而黑安格斯牛柳肉質係全隻牛最淋嫩嘅地方,幼滑鬆軟,又唔肥,牛味又濃,稱得上係牛的最佳部位。因為我近年跟得bf多,都食少少牛(主要係唔見血就ok),多數食邊位(因為熟d),焦香十足!
配菜同樣都係簡單燒過嘅蔬菜,有效清走油膩感。

另一邊的凍海鮮選擇也不少,如長腳蟹、青口、帶子、琵琶蝦、熟蝦以及已開邊的松葉蟹腳,鮮甜又方便,海鮮迷來到絕對會樂不思蜀!

最後的甜品選擇也極其精緻琳琅,並且令人花多眼亂;重點是,與 Kerry 一樣,這裡的甜點水準都非常高,令人非常心動要再來再吃$798起連香檳任飲的 Lobser Weekend Brunch!

午餐開始前,還玩了緊張又刺激的小遊戲;原來擁有4個酒店品牌的香格里拉集團,至今已有103間酒店,峇里及舟山的新酒店明年就會開幕了,看來我的 Bali 之旅又要再延長了!

用念力控制住自己別吞下過多麵包後(很難忍,因為這裡的牛油太好吃...),這天一連吃了兩大碟海鮮沙律頭盤(下圖只是其中一碟),才依依不捨的收手,因為真的要留肚給主菜啊!

不少食友都大讚這裡的牛柳好吃,我也可以作見證;不過這天福至心靈,覺得感恩節後一天的 Happy Friday,還是吃既感恩又聖誕的火雞吧!不出所料,火雞質素也極好,無論是雞腿捲或雞胸肉部位都很嫩滑可口,同上的配菜也是高質通通被我吃光~而在吃火雞的途中,幸運之神又呼喚了我的名字---這天又中了台北住宿連早餐!太開心了!

相比遙遠的杜拜或阿曼住宿,台北也算是最適合我的獎品之一,真的覺得自己好蒙恩啊!再次感恩!之後再吃下又美又好吃的甜點(除了奶凍杏仁味稍重,其他都很完美),又是時間離開;至於還有不少記掛的臉孔,希望很快有緣再聚!

Lobster Bar and Grill was one of the two restaurants at Island ShangriLa we hadn't visited before. There is also limited information on openrice. So here you go let me report what they offer for a weekday semi-buffet lunch.We booked just a few days in advance and managed to get a window-side table, although the view was not particularly pleasant. The interior decoration of the restaurant was really very pretty! This photo was taken from our table. I could have taken better photos but the whole setting was so business so I didn't feel very comfortable taking too many photos. The sofa seats on the side looked very comfortable, with some small fish tanks next to you.  Most of the other diners were obviously here for business.

It was really not cheap right? $478 + 10% per head for appetiser buffet + 1 mains + dessert buffet. Drink was not included in this price. We each ordered a different main to share. 

There were 3 buffet tables altogether: 2 appetisers and 1 desserts.

There were 5 types of cold seafood on the buffet table. 
The king crab leg was ok only. It was quite salty and was not particularly good. 
The prawn was ok only. I just had one. 
The scallop ceviche was surprisingly good. It was not so hard and was quite tender and the pomelo salsa tasted good and appetising. 
Blue mussel was tasteless. 
The snow crab was a bit hard to eat as the shells had not been properly cracked. The crab meat was tasteless too. 
The cold seafood was overall quite disappointing. The mango sauce on the side tasted sweet and yummy though!

I just took photo of 1 side of this appetiser buffet table. There were more choices on the other side of the table. 
There were just 2 types of greens (Romaine lettuce and mixed salad) and tomatoes but they were all fresh. 
The cauliflower mousse with lobsters (which I forgot to take a photo of) tasted pretty good with creamy but not particularly fatty mousse. However, the lobsters were tasteless. How did they got their name of Lobster Bar and Grill?

Thai salad with pork neck tasted quite good. The pork neck wasn't too fatty. 
Beef tataki were quite nice too. The beef was sufficiently tender! 
The dill smoked salmon was basically salmon sashimi! 
Black pepper tuna was ok. 
Melon with ham offered pretty juicy and fresh melon and the ham was those really dried ham.
There were 2 types of sushi rolls. I just tried the tuna with avocado one which was ok.

A closer look at some of the appetisers I tried. These appetisers were better than those cold seafood. The quality of the food was quite good with a reasonable variety of food to choose from. That said, I think you really could have expected more given the price.

The veal schnitzel was deep-fried very well with yummy and thin bread batter! The veal itself was still very tender and juicy!
The French fries were too salty although they were freshly deep fried. The cheese or egg yolk dressing (?) on the side looked so interesting but didn't taste particularly good with French fries. The taste was just too plain.

It was really quite interesting that they offered this on their mains. This was simply Japanese! The tuna were seasoned quite well with a good texture. The portion of the tuna was quite big too! The avocado and mango were fresh. The rice was ok too. I must say that their mains were much more pleasing compared with their appetisers.

Desserts were surprisingly good! At the corner I saw orange crepes with warm toffee pudding! The warm toffee pudding was ok, although I was never a fan of toffee as it was too sweet and indeed it was!

The orange crepe looked so appealing that I couldn't help but try. The orange crepe was quite soft with some egg-like texture inside. As pre-made desserts on a desserts buffet table, I think the quality was worth 5 stars already. There was some orange sauce on the side to add to the crepes to make them less dry. 

Surprisingly the strawberries were not so sweet although they were so big and looked so pretty!

The pear almond tart tasted quite good with my favourite crunchy & rich tart base! 
The mango & coconut mousse cake was so light & refreshing with crunchy and thin cookie base! 
The raspberry & lychee dessert cup was very pretty. The cover lid was made of a thin layer of sugar with a raspberry as the handle to lift the sugar cover lid. It was a bit too sweet but I liked it! 
The raspberry & hazelnut cake was less special but was still good regardless. It was not overly sweet at all. 
The black forest cake had a rich flavour of chocolate and was much better than other black forest cake with yucky cherry flavour out there! Yummy!

The Napoleon was not so crispy (you could tell that they had been pre-made for quite a while purely from their looks) but the custard paste tasted really really delicious! 
The Mont Blanc chestnut tart was quite good although I was never a fan of chestnut. The chestnut paste was very smooth and was not overly sweet. The tart base was very crunchy and rich again! 

Overall, the quality of the mains and desserts were very good. The environment was very nice while service was ok. It was definitely somewhere to come back for fine dining yet you would still like to leave with a full stomach. At such a price, I honestly think the cold seafood and even the appetisers could have been better though.
