It's always hard to find a place to eat on weekends as there are so many people. But we did find one place where there had space! 露面手工拌麵料理 (English name: Biang Biang Noodles). Located near Southern Playground, is a decently sized noodle restaurant.Seating fairly spacious. And they have an interesting logo of their shop on one wall.Menu is in English and Chinese. Menu is in English and Chinese. There is no 10% servicde charge and you pay on your way out. We came for lunch where they offer lunch sets which include an appetizer, noodle and drink.
Or they have one with rice.
As the appetizers were spicy and I really can't eat spicy food, we decided to order a la carte.
Boyfriend had a Taro Milk Tea ($28). It had a nice generous scoop of taro paste. Enough milk to make it creamy as well.
I had the Passion Fruit Jasmine Green Tea with Agar Pearl ($24). It was the right amount of sweetness so you could taste the tea flavor and was refreshing enough.
We shared an appetizer of Drunken Chicken ($58) because it's my favorite appetizer and I wanted to see if this place was good or not. And it was quite good. The amount of alcohol was strong yet not bitter as it was balanced by the sweetness of sugar. The chicken was firm and smooth, the meat soaking up all the wine. The skin wasn't too fat as well.
Boyfriend had the Beef Brisket with Tomato Noodle ($55). A dry noodle that needed to be mixed with the tomato sauce. The brisket was a bit tough but it was rich in flavor. The sauce was rich in flavor. Added to that were juicy plump tomatoes.
I had the Pork and Chives mini wontons Noodle Soup ($48) and changed to Biang Biang noodle ($3). There were five of these and were rather good. The filling was plump and juicy. The skin was not too thick. The soup was rich and I don't believe much MSG was used.
It originally came with egg noodles but I'm not a fan of those. Thus, I changed it to biang biang noodles. Or as their menu said, their version of it as it's not as wide and not as thick. It's thinner than the orignal version so much smoother in texture.
Portion size was good. The food tasted delicious. As we were leaving, they put up an afternoon tea menu that was quite a good deal. So, will most likely be back.
