Every year, my place of work does a huge annual dinner whereby they book out the entire Maxim's Palace Restaurant for four evenings. We are then assigned a day to attend. So, on this evening, I came for a dinner, hear our CEO cite how the year went and the future ahead, chat with coworkers and hope to win some prizes.Being bored senseless, as usual, I took a few photos of the food.We started with a platter of cold roast meats such as roast duck, roast pork and jelly fish. Jelly fish was pretty good, but the roast duck was a bit dry. Roast pork was ok.Next up was prawn fried in a mayonnaise batter so it slightly tasted like a deep fried shrimp salad. Prawn was fresh enough but I wasn't too fond of the strange mayonnaise batter on top of the prawn.A very common item found in a lot of banquet type meals. Zucchini stuffed with conpoy and served with pea sprouts. The conpoy was soft and very good with that flavoful taste that only a dried scallop can give you. The pea sprouts were seasoned in the conpoy broth so it was exceptionally tasty.Vegetable dish was broccoli with crab meat. This was ok.  Though I felt the broccoli was a bit overcooked.Soup was a double boiled soup with dried bokchoy. Piping hot, I never know who people can drink it so fast! It was pretty good though a bit on the salty side.Dried mushroom with bokchoy was next. The mushroom tasted a bit like a sponge while the bokchoy was way too salty.As in all banquets we ended with steamed fish, chicken and rice or noodles. The fish was excellent. Not over cooked at all. I skipped on the chicken and rice/noodles part as I was getting full. But I always made room for dessert which was a baked tapioca pudding with lotus seed paste. Always a favorite when we get this at the banquet here every year. It's warm and gooey. Not too sweet but sweet enough to make you happy. Truely comfort food.Service was pretty good. Not rushed and cleared plates accordingly. Drinks were constantly refilled without asking. Decent enough food but not great. 繼續閱讀

太耐無寫,但真係好難得可以咁輕輕鬆鬆Lunch.事緣本人啱啱晌養和出院,奈何繼父做柴可夫。三口子又想飲吓茶,又要泊到車。諗都唔諗就直出中環。11點9上到去。都好多人。好啦,我地坐低咗。正,三口子最鍾意既點心車。但居然先叫一大煲湯。4分:正,西洋菜湯。唔太鹹,啱晒我地。點心:叫咗成15樣,由於食得比較快。所以只係影到少少。蝦餃,燒賣,叉燒包,鳳爪,呢啲大路嘢少不免。一籠兩隻,因為媽打唔食。 4分:彈牙過蝦餃,正,所以叫左兩籠。出品方面,整體好滿意。服務方面,基本上去到中環既美心,唔會差得去邊。加水,換碟,基本service 做到,但唔過火。值回票價。 繼續閱讀

今日早上,同屋企人飲茶。上GuGu攞飛 (7-8人)。因為有七人,攞不到細枱飛,攞到中枱飛。細枱飛叫了50多個還只叫了一個中枱。等了四十五分鐘終於等到了,竟然給我一張最多可以座六個人的細枱,坐七人根本放不下點心。同一時間隔離一張大枱沒人坐,我問為何不給我們大枱,他說有人坐了。隨即便看到有四個人坐進大枱。我跟部長理論時,他竟跟我說他們是傾酒席。那時我便再問有沒有其他大枱,他終於給了我另一張大枱(要等阿姐執枱) 。最後,我看到那四人傾酒席的轉了細枱。而我原先那張枱只坐了一對外籍夫婦和兩個小朋友。還有最好笑是那執枱阿姐說有執好枱的不給人要人等我執枱。這間可以放棄了。 繼續閱讀

美心皇宮不愧係專門擺酒嘅地方吖,大堂好闊落,天花板好高,座位都好闊落,坐係度食飯飲茶真係空氣都清新d吖!不過,客人好多!最好提前過來拿號等位喇,然後就去周圍行下插座唔多就番來食嘢!排骨好嫩滑,味道唔錯,有d肥根特別好食!一直想食蝦餃,不過阿姨嘅推車一直都冇蝦餃,後來有我地有點太多覺得食唔曬唔敢再點。不過冇諗到呢度蛋撻味道唔錯,酥皮有d焦,裡邊蛋好正!又唔係幾甜,食嘅撻飲啖茶啱曬!腸粉唔鐘意,覺得是都好厚吖!使唔使咁真材實料吖,用咁多米漿來蒸腸粉。鳳爪味道一般過得去。皮蛋瘦肉粥出乎意料,味道好正!粥好甜,但係唔係味精咯!杏仁茶杏仁味純正,值得試! 繼續閱讀

以前未來過美心皇宮食嘢,今次有機會就一家大細來試下!來到先發覺呢度太旺喇,一早就滿人喇,不過好彩嘅係等係我地前面嘅人唔多,十五分鐘後就有位喇,位置都比較大,坐得比較舒服。燒麥味道唔錯,肉餡好實淨,蟹子好脆。蝦餃皮稍微厚咗dd,餡比較出色,蝦同豬肉比較新鮮。酥皮叉燒包,感覺比較少食,一般叉燒包都是軟軟嘅,呢嘅係脆嘅,上面撒咗小小白芝麻好香口,叉燒餡有d甜,汁都幾多,味道幾好。牛百葉,牛百葉好香好入味,有d孜然味,牛百葉都比較嫩,容易吞落肚唔會好韌,但係,點!解!要放芫西!!真係幾煩芫西加,雖然佢味好香,但係我真係唔鐘意咯!但係我爸好鐘意,真係拆我檯。仲有其他好多都好好味,得閒不妨去試下! 繼續閱讀
