Dai pai dong, a quintessential Hong Kong food experience, is an open-air food stall. With time, dai pai dong starts to move indoor. Manner provides two lines of dining experience, namely cart noodle and dai pai dong. 咪走雞 Chicken in Lotus Leaves $198
The most impressive dish of the night goes to 咪走雞 Chicken in Lotus Leaves. The chicken was served in a chicken-shaped bowl. Taking away the dish cover, the staff started a small fire to roast the chicken which was wrapped with lotus leaves. Peeling off the lotus leaves when the chicken finishes burning, one cannot wait to start eating because of the pleasant aroma of the marinated chicken (with ginger, black fungus, scallions etc.). I appreciate how the aromatic scent of the lotus leaf adds amazing flavor to the chicken.
The other dishes are of average quality.
Overall, Manner would be a good choice for a group of friends coming for beer and varieties of dishes.
