This Vietnamese restaurant is located in Festival Walk, Kowloon Tong, with another outlet in Causeway Bay. Many years ago I had been to the HK Island branch and the food and experience was a nice one, so it is with the same expectation that I came to this one on the Kowloon side. But frankly it was a bit disappointing from my prior experience.Seated at a table overlooking the ice skate rink, the decor is similar, but with brighter lightings. It did not have the same premium feel but having a more family feel, which is not bad and maybe more suitable for the clientele for the shopping mall. We ordering a Fresh Young Coconut ($58) and Lychee Pineapple Smoothie ($58) for drinks, and while waiting for my drink, the appetizer is served. The Indochine Appetizer Platter ($258) has two pieces each of steamed rice roll, deep-fried spring roll, Vietnamese shrimp cake, soft shell crab rice paper roll, and prawn on prawn cracker. All of them are decent, and personally I like the spring roll the most, with crisp skin and tasty fillings. Not bad overall. Next we had Lemongrass Clams in Clay Pot ($198). The jumbo clams are big in size, but also having the common issue for clams of this size, they are a bit rubbery on texture. Still exhibiting good umami flavors and the young coconut juice used as broth provided a nice delicate note and sweetness to infuse the clams. I guess if some smaller or different types of clam is used the dish would be much more well-received.The another main dish was Lemongrass Pork Chop ($148). Two pieces of pork chop has been char-grilled with lemongrass and spring onion. The taste of the pork chop is good, seasoned well and with a nice lemongrass fragrance on the meat but not overpowering. But I guess the pork chop was grilled in advance and only re-heated on order, so when serve they are not exactly hot in temperature. While it might not be an issue if I am having vermicelli tossed with fish sauce, as a main dish I would expect it to be grilled on demand and steaming. Wrapping up we also had Frog Leg Rice in Clay Pot ($148). Comparing with the last dish, this clay pot rice is certainly delivered at the right temperature, sizzling hot, with the frog legs meaty and flavorful with the lemongrass marinade. Served together with some cooked soy sauce, the rice is quite tasty and if tired of other more traditional Vietnam rice or noodle cuisine this can be an alternative to consider.Service is decent, with no issue or hiccup but also not particularly impressive. The bill was $867, after a 10% discount with booking through Openrice. Still if you ask me, I would probably go to the CWB branch instead. 繼續閱讀

安南越式三層架下午茶近日同朋友係九龍塘又一城的安南嘗試左哩個好超值的下午茶,除左有三層架下午茶外,仲會有埋兩碗越式的粉麵,安南的下午茶真的最好要預約,因為訂位都好FULL下,安南越式三層架下午茶包括有五款鹹點,分別有越式蒸粉卷、鮮蝦米紙卷、越南春卷、蒜蓉牛油雞翼,另外仲有一人有半隻炭燒大頭蝦,五款甜點,有越南咖啡奶凍、西米斑蘭糕、法式焦糖焗蛋、椰青果凍 和 椰汁紫糯米,另外都會有籠海蟹仔肉鮮茄湯檬粉同埋安南牛肉湯河粉,五款鹹點當中,款款都真的唔錯,大部份的卷物都真的保持到水準,蒜蓉牛油雞翼就凍左DD,再熱一點味道會更好,甜點方面,西米斑蘭糕真的好好味,斑蘭的香味再加埋煙煙UNUN的西米,朋友都話想買外賣返去食哈哈,之後的越南咖啡奶凍真系得我歡心,越南咖啡奶凍咖啡味濃,同埋唔太甜,好令人難忘的味道,我就點左籠海蟹仔肉鮮茄湯檬粉,朋友點左安南牛肉湯河粉,安南牛肉湯河粉味道正常,湯底牛肉味濃,我的籠海蟹仔肉鮮茄湯檬粉真的有驚喜,都有少少的蟹仔肉同埋蟹膏,加埋鮮茄湯真的好好食,大頭蝦中蝦膏好多,肉質都唔錯,我加左大頭蝦中蝦膏在檬粉到,真的雙重美味~~另外飲品點左越式冰檸茶,茶底都唔錯,凍檸茶飲得多都想轉下新口味~~這下午茶的食物水準不過不失,價錢只是二百餘元,就可以兩個人吃得飽飽的,連晚餐也不用吃,性價比可是相當高的。 繼續閱讀

近日在九龍塘又一城先後吃了兩次三層架下午茶,不過一次是英式的,另一次卻是越式的。先說越式的一次,光顧的是在銅鑼灣和九龍塘都有分店的「安南」。這越南館子最近推出的「安南三層架下午茶」($238/2位),享用時間分別為下午2:45 - 4:15和 4:30 - 6:00,我光顧的是第二個時段,在晚上六時後禁堂食的惡法下,正好充當提早吃的晚餐,把肚子填得飽飽的,就連真正的晚餐也可省回了。五款鹹點,分別是「越式蒸粉卷」、「鮮蝦米紙卷」、「越南春卷」、「蒜蓉牛油雞翼」和每人只得半隻,但最為吸引的「炭燒大頭蝦」。頭四款鹹點都是吃越南菜常見的,這裡的做得不過不失,部分點心味道無疑是偏淡的,但蘸上魚露後,可還不錯。「炭燒大頭蝦」雖然每人只可分得半隻,蝦肉不多,不過蝦膏就都幾多。至於甜點,這下午茶就有「越南咖啡奶凍」、「西米斑蘭糕」、「法式焦糖焗蛋」、「椰青果凍」和「椰汁紫糯米」。五款甜點中,「越南咖啡奶凍」味道濃郁,苦澀的咖啡味相當突出;「西米斑蘭糕」煙煙韌韌的,我都喜歡。說這下午茶可充當晚餐是有理由的,因為它除了三層架下午茶必備的鹹甜美點外,還有「安南牛肉湯河粉」和「籠海蟹仔肉鮮茄湯檬粉」可供客人選擇,在十款鹹甜點心之外,再多吃一款湯河或檬粉,試問又怎能不飽呢!老婆仔揀了穩穩陣陣的「安南牛肉湯河粉」,味道中規中矩,四平八穩的,雖然牛肉不太多,仍可收貨。愛嚐新的我揀了名字特別的「籠海蟹仔肉鮮茄湯檬粉」,這茄汁湯底,橙橙紅紅的檬粉酸酸的,頗開胃,我雖吃不出蟹仔肉的口感,我想,應該總會有蟹肉在裡面吧!飲品只得一熱一凍兩款選擇,選擇無疑是少的,不過我倆不約而同選擇的凍飲「越式青檸冰茶」可是不錯的,夠大杯,夠解渴,茶味十分清新、舒服。這下午茶的食物水準雖不算十分之好,可也及格,價錢只是二百餘元,便可把兩個人吃得飽飽的,連晚餐也不用吃,性價比可是相當高的。 繼續閱讀

復活節假期的星期一,現在放假都沒有興奮心情,成日叫人不要社交、不要出街,聽到人都無心機~~~一早訂了這個三點半下午茶,聽說很受歡迎,不吃港女三層架嘛⋯⋯結果這個越式下午茶也是三層架~~頂層是法式焦糖焗蛋及椰青果凍,一個清甜,一個濃密~~中層是蒜蓉牛油雞翼、鮮蝦米紙卷、蒸粉卷及蝦多士,雞翼很香口,蝦多士較多油‼️下層是班蘭糕、咖啡奶凍、紫糯米,咖啡奶凍很香滑,咖啡味濃郁~~另外碟上的大頭蝦、牛肉濱海、茶葉蛋,是不是送的⁉️半隻大頭蝦,究竟要一隻細的蝦,或是要半隻大的蝦較好呢⁉️這樣陣容,價錢合適,對我們來說,這是午餐,也是晚餐,夠晒飽,不用再吃了~~~還有飲品是凍清補涼及熱紅棗茶只是想不到假期都是靜靜的~~~ 繼續閱讀

復活節嗰時同媽咪去咗食呢間嘅下午茶,我覺得啲鹹點都正正常常,甜品比較突出,而咸點就正常發揮。價錢都唔算好貴,而且坐得都幾舒服($3️⃣6️⃣8️⃣)✅: 1️⃣龍海蟹仔肉鮮茄湯檬粉呢個好鮮甜,蟹味都好濃😚,好啱我胃口,下次可以再叫。 佢另外個河粉味道都唔錯。2️⃣椰汁紫糯米好香椰汁味,啲紫糯米都煮得好淋😝,甜度啱啱好。3️⃣越南咖啡奶凍呢個好滑,咖啡味比想像中重😍,驚豔到我。4️⃣紅棗杞子桂圓茶強烈推介大家叫呢個飲品,味道好清甜,配下午茶啱啱好。5️⃣西米班蘭糕個人最中意呢款甜品😚,好煙韌好香班蘭味,好想瘋狂吸入。❌:1️⃣復活蛋熟過頭,仲要冇咩味。 2️⃣炭燒大頭蝦其實佢又唔係難食嘅🤨,不過佢肉質比較霉,感覺唔算好新鮮。 3️⃣椰青果凍款款甜品都好好食,係呢個唔好食。佢係大菜糕嘅質地,太爽口🙃,我就唔鍾意啦。之前見佢有另外一個下午茶,都係二百幾蚊,只係少咗兩樣嘢,感覺上嗰個應該更加抵食。 繼續閱讀
