曾来过大喬日本料理两次, 吃过晚歺的All You Can Eat Buffet, 很满意. 昨天和同事来吃午飯, 同样不錯. 我们叫的二人套歺有刺身, 天婦罗有蝦, 冬菇及雜菜,鐵板炒的有牛柳, 雜菌菇,曰式炒飯和煎銀雪魚. 刺身很新鮮, 食物用鐵板炒或煎的缘故, 挺香.晚飯的dinner buffet选择很多, 有超过50款食物, 如魚生壽司加州巻, 豬頸肉串燒, 炸生壕, 八爪魚丸, 熱食的有烏冬,曰式炒飯, 炒菌菇, 金菇牛柳卷. 最出名的是煎鵝肝, 很香, 很好吃. 由于是$198三小時任吃, 上次共吃了三塊煎鵝肝, 超值和非常滿足! 另外是甜品, 通常日式料理的甜点是雪米糍一粒, 但这里很大方, 雪糕都有芝麻, 紅豆, 綠茶的选择, 另外还有細塊的蛋糕, 很不錯. 最後值得一提的, 是peach 特飲. 原价三十多塊, 还有半价, 大大杯, 又没有溝淡, 抵飲!

I was invited there for Christmas lunch by a friend. They eat there often but interestingly they don't take the buffet but prefer "a al carte".Marco Chung the Chef de Cuisine came to our table to discuss what we liked and disliked. Started off with mixed veg tempura which was very light. The sashimi and sushi very fresh and tasty. Thinly cut beef with filling was definitely worth a mention. This restaurant seems to be called "big bridge" in Chinese, and upon entering the restaurant there is a mini bridge before you go in.Anyway, went there for the all you can eat buffet at $198 per person, the range dosnt offer much but at least ALL of the items are AVAILABLE, even foie gras unlike that Urawa restaurant in Wan Chai.SASHImI/SUSHI section:Handrolls: minced fatty tuna, salmon, crab roe salad, squid and crab roe, eel.Sashimi: tuna, salmon, snapper.Sushi: yellow tail, squid, squid tenta

SASHImI/SUSHI section:
Handrolls: minced fatty tuna, salmon, crab roe salad, squid and crab roe, eel.
Sashimi: tuna, salmon, snapper.
Sushi: yellow tail, squid, squid tentacles, sweet shrimp, salmon, sush.
Maki: Tuna, Salmon and California rolls.

SALAdS/VEG: green salad, crab roe salad, stir fried vegetables, edame beans.

FrIED items: prawn, oysters, fish fin, wasabi dumplings, vegetable tempura,

GRILLeD items: scallops, foie gras, squid, wasabi dumplings, beef, snapper fillet, salmon, sole fish, beef rolls, beef rolls with enoki, beef rolls with kimchi, beef roll dumpling, fish cake, octopus balls. smoked duck breast, japanese burger steak.

SKEwERS: chicken skin, pork neck, and chicken.

RICE/NOoDLES: fried rice, udon in soup.

DESsERT: ice cream (green tea, sesame, adzuki beans), cake of the day.

CuSTOMER SERvICE:
Overall, the customer service was good, the tea was constantly refilled, probably because they charge more but comparing it to other all you can eat Japanese places, they cost around $198 per person.
The tea provided was slightly strange, because it wasnt green tea, but tasted like Pu Erh, the earthy type.

FoOD:
The grilled beef was the best, but then they are famous for their thinly grilled beef with fillings inside them.
Grilled chicken skin was interesting, however I would have preferred them fried and crispy.
Dumplings had that extra touch to it, as they put wasabi in them.
The foie gras was slightly too oily, but ok.
The fish fish tempura was my favourite, it wasnt greasy at all, slightly too sweet, but it was crunchy and chewy at the same time.
The cake of the day tasted a bit weird, it tasted of some flower, possibly rose.

There was a complimentary salad too with conch meat, it was a scoop of mashed potatoes with lots of shredded vegetables mixed together.

蛤湯好清好鮮甜!鵝肝煎得好香好新鮮!天婦羅蝦即叫即炸,熱辣辣食就最新鮮好味、而且D蝦 size適中、所以都有蝦既鮮味又好彈牙、亦炸得剛剛好又唔會太厚非常脆トト!剌食拼盤, 有赤身, 三文魚, 帶子, 油甘魚和友人至愛的甜蝦刺身方面, 新鮮肥美, 尤以帶子和海胆最出色. 帶子有少少彈性, 不會過於淋身, 缺乏口感. 而海胆足足有隻手指咁長, 色澤光亮, 飽滿. 味道十分鮮甜. 而甜蝦雖然係細細隻, 但不失鮮味, 有濃濃的海水味, 味質鮮嫩, 食完仲想encore 多一客, 好鮮甜呀!

我和同事一行四人到這裡午餐,這裡環境算是高尚,侍應將我們安排到一間細房,地方不算夾窄,不過一邊吃一邊覺得好煙,因為廚師們在出面大廳鐵板炒東西。至於服務方面,侍應們的態度都OK,只是這裡上菜、埋單等等都比較慢一點。食物方面,我們都點了一樣的菜式“和風牛肉定食”,整個套餐包括有芽菜仔、沙律、面鼓湯、和風牛肉、白飯、甜品多款。“和風牛肉”的味道我覺得好一般,平時在家都可以做到,反而見到隔離枱吃的刺身飯好吸引,所以我想在這裡吃刺身會好一點。

大喬是灣仔新開的日式餐廳.

刺身: 5 件章紅魚 (不太記得是什麼魚), 鮮味十足.
什錦天婦羅, 好味!
什錦壽司, 有蝦, 海膽和魚等, 好味.

散叫的稻庭烏冬:

個碗很大,烏冬卻......
但很好味.用大量的冰鎮著,非常冰凍.

和經理閒談幾句, 送上日式年糕和雪糕給我們.


總括來說,
價錢昂貴,但食料非常新鮮. 不論刺身或蔬菜,都非常新鮮,十分好味.

因為太貴, 很久沒去. 近期發現這餐廳轉了方向,
似乎不再做貴族, 趨向平民化,
推出一些廉價的食物, 比和x 或別 x 高級少少.
有時間都會去一試.

睇openrice的網頁,提到大喬有午市或晚市放題,便打個電話去book位試下,此放題只會係星期六、日及公眾假期先有。星期六12點3到達,感到餐廳的環境不差,(洗手間亦十分乾淨),waiter帶位至一個向住軒尼斯道既卡位,十分舒適!睇睇menu,午市放題138元有大約十幾款野食,再加每人一份迷你魚生飯/ 熱烏冬/ 紫菜茶漬飯,又或者鐵板炒飯,如果另加100元,便可以品嚐埋海膽壽司,鰻魚、鵝肝、油甘魚壽司,蔥吞拿魚手卷,鐵板牛肉等比較貴價之食物。我選擇238元亦食左好多海膽壽司,鰻魚、鵝肝、油甘魚壽司,感到此店食物之質素十分好,油甘魚、海膽新鮮香甜,店員服務態度亦良好,雖然放題食物choices不是很多,但二百零蚊總覺得十分物有所值。我從未食過外間百幾元之日本食物放題,亦沒有太大興趣去食,始終相信一分錢一分貨這個道理。此店值得推介,唯獨是上菜時間,又或者中途已經要暫停海膽壽司既供應,可以改善。

睇openrice的網頁,提到大喬有午市或晚市放題,便打個電話去book位試下,此放題只會係星期六、日及公眾假期先有。

Okay people this is my first comment, i am very excited as many friends told me lot's of people read this.
I went to a japanese restaruant call dai kyo after hearing it from friends, there are two impression about this restaurant and let me start with the bad first!
The food was okay but i believe no matter how good the food is, service is my number one thing and the service was so bad i told myself i will never go again! It was very surprise back in october when there were only few tables and trust me i was sitting on the first table and the guy who serve me didnt' wear a uniform, just jeans so i ask him rather he's the boss and he told me he just work there, the impression was bad and if not because of the food which i must say was one of the above average with a reasonable price.
Okay as i told myself i will never go there, my friend and i was working OT one night, we want to eat jap food badly which happen last thursday but for some reason the downstairs restuaurant was all full and the line was all the way to the Wsquare door so given no choice my friend ask me just to give one more try.... what can i say... as a hk people we are always impatient!
So to my surprise the place was FULL... I mean FULL... with that kind of service i wouldnt' believe my eye, later i find out it was oyster night and people go there mainly for oyster. As my friend and i sat in, the writer comes, hhahahaha
The same waiter who wore jeans but this time full uniform and i was very please with it. We decide to order oyster and it was cheap, not reasonable but cheap! AND FRESH! But still with so many people now i figure the service would be bad, I have to give them full credit!!! The service this time was excellent, in fact the captain remembers me getting very mad last time and come over to tell us they have change management and change most of their staff.

2, they come and apologize and give me 6 free oyster
I must say i got different expectation on this restuarant but i must give full credit they change really fast!

原本同女朋友拍拖去銅鑼灣食日本野,點知冇訂位行左兩三間都要等個幾鐘,於是打電話求救,朋友介紹左上去,淨係唔駛等位兼環境舒服已經合我心意。拿起個菜牌發現D價錢上落好大,我前後點左六個野食:龍蝦刺身、雜錦魚生、炸盧旬、芝士焗蠔、酒煮大蜆、烏冬。龍蝦刺身同炸盧旬竟然係差不多價錢,不過佢地話係PROMOTION,所以龍蝦係蝕本價,聽落幾開心,一百蚊隻龍蝦刺身真係邊度搵,上到台面隻野仲狂動,嚇到我老婆跳起,不過證明新鮮都係好事。野食算係水準中上,尤其魚生同龍蝦真係驚喜,我試過去一D貴得多的日本餐廳都係差不多呢個水準,惟一係個蠔配料好味但有少少腥唔算超新鮮,不過我印象中在香港好似未食過真係唔腥的蠔,所以都有心理準備。呢度可能因為人少,招呼相當熱情,最凍反而係D茶。兩個人食左六樣野非常滿足而再睇睇張單就有D高興,可能我在PROMOTION的野食中選左幾樣,加埋都係500蚊,咁叫野食法同去D CHEAP餐龐的價錢冇分別,可能因為冇開酒關係所以咁抵。問題係餐牌上面的鐵板餐一個人成六七百蚊,我唔知有咩人會叫,因為個起落差太遠。不過論環境論野食論價錢,真係值得推介,帶新識的女朋友去食都唔失禮。

My friends asked me to go to this Free Flow Sake Night in a relatively new Japanese restaurant in Wan Chai so I joined them. The set dinner was like a marathon. There were so many dishes. I had low expectation on set dinners normally but after the meal, I had this rare satisfaction of feeling complete both stomach-wise and soul-wise. The decor of the place was just right - classy in a contemporarily comfortable way. Small tables were arranged in zones with good privacy. Private rooms were great too for larger groups.

The food... gosh!!!::::::
1) First it was a nicely marinated pumpkin with smoked duck breast. To me, the pumpkin was more impressive. Not saying that the duck breast was bad, but the pumpkin was marinated to perfection. I should have asked them what crazily yummy sauce they had used.
2) Assorted sashimi was above average. Fresh by HK standard. Don't compare to Tsukiji of course! But I was happy.
3) Now this beef roll with tofu inside was interesting. The smooth tofu made the entire thing very smooth. Smart. The fish was very Japanese too. I am not really that much of a Japanese fish expert, but it did taste very fresh and very Jap. Nicely done.
4) Fois Gras. I wish it were less oily, but gosh, can a fois gras be non-oily and non-fatty? HAHA! Very tender.
5) The minced tuna sushi gave us a nice feel inside the mouth. I've forgotten how the perch tasted though.
6) Oh, this combo was a killer. The pork cutlet with pork cutlet sauce and the battered fish in a very light kind of tartar sauce created a nice contrast. Strong vs light.
7) I was pretty full by now. The wagyu beef was from Australia I heard. I still ate it all though!
8) Fried rice - not their fault. Personally I like fried rice to be wet, but all the restaurants make it pretty dry. So probably my only complaint during the entire evening but it's completely my personal preference.
9) Yuzi Sorbet - can't believe they ended this incredible meal by serving my favorite flavor of sorbet. I was in heaven by now!

Overall, an impressive presentation of food, a very comfy environment and a very enjoyable dining experience. I would definitely come back, be it for casual dining with friends, for business dinners or for a romantic purpose. A 9/10 by me.

P.S. The set dinner was priced at $398 with free flow sake, but many other great choices of different price ranges available on the menu.

I went to the sake tasting nite on wednesday at daikyo with one friend... It only have to pay $100 and u can drink as much as u can.... the daikyo manager told me that will be on every wednesday until i am not so sure.. besides the sake tasting nite... the snack are yummy too... and it is so cheap tho.. i remember it only $20 for 2 musseli with cheese.... that is so cheap... i recommand u guys should go try it out aye...the overall atmosphere are nice aye... since i only have two ppls .... i thi

the overall atmosphere are nice aye... since i only have two ppls .... i think if more ppls go... that will be more fun tho.. just like u go to bar and enjoying the happy hour...

however... if the free sake hours can extend abit longer ... that will be way better!!! and also if the service can be quicker....
