HoHoHo ~ I picked my all time favourite seafood galore buffet ! Let's see what I had.
Round 1 - 4
Since oysters & crabs are always at the top of my food list, I just can't wait to get them right in my first two rounds LOL...
Osyters from Australia (Smoky Bay)
- medium size
- not a very strong flavour but very fresh & creamy
- perfect one-bite size
- so creamy & smooth that it almost directly got swallowed without chewing.
Oysters from France (No. 4)
- smallest size
- yet the most intense taste of sea water
- because of its tiny size you won't feel it's too heavy to have too much
Oysters from France (Normandy)
- biggest size among them
- comparatively light flavoured
- so fresh & tasty with a clear taste of sea water
- very smooth & creamy
- provide a texture between No. 4 & Smoky bay
Lobster & Alaska crab legs
For the lobster, I like they cut it into half, so easy to take out the meat while not missing any parts. You can tell how fresh it is at your first chew, so juicy & al dente ! You can also taste a natural hint of sea water. My friend had that a lot !! LOL
Besides, I also found those Alaska crab legs fantastically yummy too !!! Although you need some effort to open it, but you will find it totally worth it when the fresh juicy tender crab meat dissolves in your mouth ... You never mind to open a couple more ( ´ ▽ ` )
Pan seared Foie Gras with Cranberry Sauce
The best timing of having a foie gras is right after it's cooked! So yummy & juicy when it's still in the heat ! Love the amazing meat fat & greasy oil completely filled up my oral palate !! The after taste was so so strong that it stayed in my mouth for quite a while. I liked how it paired with cranberry sauce, a bit sour & sweet but impeccably match with the seared delight.
There is no other food gives such a great pleasure than foie gras ... So touched & remarkable ! I know I should feel guilty of having 4-5 pieces of them ... But sorry ... I really couldn't help myself LOL
Ham & Cheese
Ham and cheese is my another weakness. The Kitchen provided a wide range of hams from dry curved Italian Parma ham to smoked German hams. I always love to wrap my Parma ham around fresh melon ! Who can resist such a temptation? Pairing with fresh salad is always a good idea to get my stomach a little half-time break.
After half-time, dessert time?
Toured around the dessert area, what an eye pleasure experience ! I got a feeling as of a kid entering Toys"R"Us ! Being surrounded with all kinds of colourful sweet delights, you found yourself got lost in this sweet forest & didn't know where to start ... But first .... Can I please go back to some more oysters XDD
Round 5 & deserts
Haha... After 3 more fresh oysters & some sashimi & some more hams ... and of coz a bowl of warm & creamy mushroom soup XDD, I finally got myself some desserts.
The tiny cutie came in a little glass was actually Osmanthus Jelly (桂花糕). Translucent appearance with some tiny Osmanthus petal inside. Tasted slightly sweet & refreshing with a very pleasure floral scent.
Then the little pale yellow rectangular baby beneath the glass was cheese cake. I must say it was fabulous !! So smooth & creamy with a rich cheesy buttery texture !! I also love the crumbly biscuit bottom ... So good ... You guys gotta check this out !
Baked Egg Custard
The Baked Egg Custard was just at the very top right hand corner of the dessert plate. Enjoyed this smooth, creamy & filling goodie which provided an intense egg yolk flavour. Smelt & tasted so nice !! Oh my goodness I start to drool reminiscing how it taste...
A perfect night came towards the end with a surprised chocolate ball dessert cake !! The amazing moments came when the waitress pour the hot chocolate sauce onto the choco ball ... The outter crust of the ball started to melt, remaining a white vanilla ice-cream ball at the centre !! Haahaa what an entertainment !! Thank you so much for all you guys !!
The staff there were so friendly & funny. When I tried to take a picture of the store front, the staff gave me a victory hand gesture LOL.
The Kitchen has a spacious & cosy ambience. If you are lucky enough to get a window seat, you could also enjoy the night view of the western harbour. The overall service was polite & diligent. I had such an enjoyable night there.
