Been to this restaurant many times and its been good. This time I've made the lunch reservation almost 2 weeks in adv and the table assigned was quite bad. Many other tables had 3 persons arranged in a round table with partitian divided. Ours were two seperate tables far away from each other with a partitian where it was originally on our table and later took away for a round table. When we requested to change, the staff told us there's no more partition...I wouldn't mind if I was just a walkin but really did not expect it when I made the booking 2 weeks in adv. Totally disappointed! First of all, we have waited 1 whole hour just to get 2 sandwiches ready! Second of all, the server got our order wrong so we had to wait for another 20 min! The worst part is one of the servers (think she is Philippino) does not even feel sorry about it at all! When we tried chasing her for the order, she just ignored us and turned her face away! Never had such poor experience like this! Horrible staff! Will never come back.
The crab legs were so fresh and no salty taste at all too. Then the lamb rack was so yummy. It was done just so pefectly!I particularly enjoyed the various choice of salads, hot dishes and fantastic dessert! They're not too sweet and simply best be served after the main course. Also the option of ice cream is more than just Dryer's, but also the popular ones from Korea, with choco and starwberry flavors too, very thoughtful! Also the soup noodles are so yum! Every staff is so professionaly trained! We brought a white wine and needed be chilled. The server, Kit Yeung made sure it's chilled as soon as it can and had it served before we finished the seafood (for better food pairing). Kit and the Restaurant Manager Calvin Woo had well looked after throughout the whole meal.The surprised birthday dessert platter was definitely the best surprise to complete this great experiene! I visited Yu Yat Ting a 2 weeks ago, and found their food quality have deteriorated, same as their service quality. I ordered an assorted shashimi, displayed and served on a wooden boat, the Unagi has gone rotten ! And when ask to change it, the waiter said you can change it for 3 pcs of salmon, and nothing else !! I ordered another plate of assorted Sushi, the Unagi Sushi was alright on that plate. When asked why can't I change the previous Unagi to this same one, I was told by the waiter that Unagi is from Japan, and the earlier one was from Canada and I am NOT allowed to change the Canadian Unagi to Japan flown in Unagi !! On the same shashimi boat was bad slices of tuna, I took a picture of it to share with everyone. I have requested to change the bad tuna (gone dark brown in color) but was told THAT's THE LOOK of TUNA, as when tuna is taken out from the freezer, the color will change to dark brown !! I am a fan of Japanese food and I know how a fresh tuna should look! I have given up on this restaurant, the food quality and its service. As a good citizen, I thought to share with whoever is planning to dine there, hope you won't experienced the same disappointed as I did so badly."
