I had very pleasant and satisfying experience here. Food, service, and vibes all 10/10. Everything we ordered was delicious and freshly prepared- the stir fry dishes were particularly outstanding and full of “wok hei 鑊氣”. Drinks, even the alcohol, were surprisingly cheap given the location and vibe of the restaurant ($38 for draught beer and $58 for cocktails and spirits?? These prices are hard to beat!)We only had mocktails but I could see this restaurant being a great place for casual drinks or happy hour. Service was outstanding throughout. Staff regularly came to check on us. They also made sure to double check my boyfriend’s food allergy which I had specified in the booking (not all restaurants do this, unfortunately). I had a fantastic dining experience here.I hadn’t heard of this restaurant before and can't believe I didn't discover it sooner. I’m very grateful to my friend for bringing me here.From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted by the beautiful voices of two gentlemen singing and playing guitar. The live music volume is just at the right volume— and that’s coming from someone like me who is usually sensitive to sound and often finds live music too loud. The ambiance is intimate and romantic, classy without being overly formal — ideal for a comfortable yet elegant date night. The service was sincere and friendly, though maybe not the most refined or professional. Still, I really appreciated the staff’s warmth and their efforts to make our evening pleasant—no complaints there.The food was outstanding; everything we tried was delicious. The paella, in particular, stood out and is probably one of the best I’ve had in Hong Kong so far. Of the three sangrias we tried, the white was our favorite. The red sangria tasted too much like mulled wine, and the strawberry one was a bit too syrupy, but still enjoyable. The evening ended on a high note with a surprise performance of “Hotel California” for the table next to us. We made a booking for the weekend and were one of the first to arrive. The café filled up quickly after that, showing it’s a popular neighbourhood spot. Many customers seemed to be regulars who knew the staff well. The menu was cute and even came with a CD featuring their desserts. I was especially interested in their "Orange Menu" and tried a few items from it: Smoked Salmon Penne with Oranges and Tomatoes ($118), Orangeccino ($56), and Caramelised Pineapple and Orange Squash ($56). The pasta was fresh and nice, but nothing too special. My boyfriend had the Sourdough Open Toast with three toppings ($98) and the Matcha Dirty ($50). The bread was very good, and the toppings were high quality. We were surprised to find such good open toast in Tsuen Wan at this price. The Matcha Dirty was good too, but it took some time to arrive. The drinks from the Orange Menu were really good, especially the caramelised pineapple and orange squash. We walked in around 5 pm on a Saturday and was given a one-hour dining limit. We were fine with that since we just wanted a quick meal, not a special date night or anything. The service felt a bit too casual. The girl at reception was on the phone when we arrived and made us wait for her to finish before seating us—quite an awkward start. Throughout the meal, it was difficult to get the staff’s attention, even though the restaurant wasn’t busy. It seemed like the team was more interested in chatting with each other than attending to customers. We ordered a glass of Prosecco and Moscato, but neither arrived—and they weren’t removed from our bill until we asked. Meanwhile, other guests who arrived after us received their drinks without issue. The food was overpriced for what it delivered. The best part of the pizza was the crust. The cheese tasted too funky for me and even for my boyfriend, who usually enjoys cheese. We also ordered a pasta dish that didn’t list cheese in the ingredients but definitely tasted cheesy, with a strange flavor and texture. Overall, it was a disappointment from start to finish. The food here is both delicious and affordable, and the service is outstanding, showcasing the warmth of Filipino hospitality!I had enjoyed drinks on a previous visit, but trying the food this time was a real highlight. The food was pretty good, but the overall experience felt hectic and stressful. The marketing seemed a bit misleading; many pictures only show the “Instagrammable” parts of the restaurant. When you arrive, there’s a chance you might not get that great view and end up in a less impressive area. If you’re there just for the iconic shot, you might feel disappointed.The taste of the food was decent, and the prices were reasonable, but some dishes didn’t look as good as they could have. Overall food is good quality and I appreciate that they serve the dishes in the appropriate order - appetisers and sashimi before the hot dishes. Price was reasonable for the quality. Service was attentive but slightly frantic, perhaps due to the restaurant being very busy that evening. Bathroom was surprisingly nice, with amenities such as mouthwash and cotton buds available. However the seating is a bit cramped and the restaurant was a too warm for my liking. The restaurant is partially outdoors and they had their big windows opened which resulted in a lot of the AC going outside. My friend and I were pretty much sweating throughout the dinner. My thighs left sweat marks on the chair. Bill came to around $1200 for two people. We ordered just a few food items and two beers each. Love the decor here and despite there being no service charge I found the price to be a bit expensive for what it was, in terms of both taste and quantity. Service was average. Boyfriend and I ordered one brunch dish each- Smoked Salmon Rosti ($160) and Steak and Eggs ($190). In addition we ordered one smoothie and one milkshake ($80 each).I liked the taste of the crispy potato in the Smoked Salmon Rosti but expected it to be served a bit hotter (I assumed it would’ve been freshly fried, but maybe not in this case). Visited on a Friday afternoon, it was quite busy indoors given it was a hot day but we wanted to sit outside anyway, so we got a seat right away.Service was friendly and attentive throughout. Staff would refill our water without having to be asked, which was nice. Their coffee is excellent, both their black and milk coffee selections. I also tried their espresso martini which was very tasty and well balanced. The fact that they have good coffee/espresso to begin with probably helped!The lemon tart however was just so so. I noticed a subtle floral taste which I was not a fan of but I guess it might have been intentional as flowers were used to decorate the lemon tart and it is also called “Summer Lemon Tart” on the menu. Did we visit on an off day? Is the food and service usually better? Why are there so many good reviews?First of all I must say the restaurant is clearly doing very well. They made their 1 hour dining time limit very clear and they made sure to kick us out on time.Service wasn’t the best. Not exactly rude, but you could tell they thought very highly of themselves. We ordered a burger and pasta. I also tried one of their cocktails. Everything was very mediocre, and a bit overpriced for what it was, in my opinion. As you can see from my picture, there’s hardly any octopus or squid in my pasta. It wasn’t hidden underneath the pasta either. Maybe we didn’t order their signature dishes? I don’t know. I made my reservation on OpenRice and was contacted via WhatsApp the day before to pre order our meals. They only sent me the beef menu, and if it wasn’t for my friend who found the pork and duck menu (which also happens to be cheaper) online, we wouldn’t have known those would also be options. Decor is fancy and service for the most part is sincere and attentive, apart from the one moment when we first arrived and requested for a different seat (we were originally assigned seats by the kitchen which meant staff would be going in and out). Not sure what the big deal was since we were the first ones there anyway. Hostess seemed annoyed but did ultimately accommodate our request.Each dish was carefully explained by both the Japanese chef and waitress, though the chef spoke limited English and Cantonese so it was a good thing the waitress was there to elaborate and clarify the explanations. Unlike the hostess, the waitress provided excellent service, which was much appreciated!Taste was okay, though we found the pork to be quite tough and the beef was tender but I expected it to be more flavourful. The highlight for us was definitely the rice. Which says something about our overall experience! We arrived at 12:00 on a Saturday and were the only ones there until around 13:00 when the restaurant started to get busier. By the time we left at around 14:00, the restaurant was completely full. Leela impressed and exceeded expectations. Service was top notch and everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. I would recommend ordering the chutney set to accompany your meal as it pairs very well with many dishes and it is also especially helpful in balancing out the spicier dishes. The smoked butter chicken with an optional serving of whiskey was definitely the highlight of our meal. If you order the optional serving of whiskey, the staff will use it to flambé the chicken right infront of you, and the resulting flavours and aromas are simply outstanding. I found the non alcoholic drinks to be more impressive than their alcoholic ones. Boyfriend and I loved their masala chai (we had several cups) and the mango lassi was also quite tasty as it was flavourful enough without being too sweet. The cocktails on the other hand, while reasonably priced, I didn’t find to be particularly outstanding. Just ok. My only other minor complaint is to do with the noise level of the restaurant. It got quite loud during our meal even though the other patrons were not being particularly loud. I think this is due to the choice of building materials for the interior of the restaurant, which were not sound absorbent.
