Two of us had a celebration dinner. We ordered two different sushi sets in the menu and a plum cold noodle. The sushi were fresh - expected at such price level, but nothing too special. The portion of the rice in the sushi was extraordinarily small. After sushi sets and noodle, we were not even half full. Luckily I bought a cake for celebration ($100 for cake cutting), otherwise we’d be very hungry after this almost $900 dinnerThe sitting environment is nothing close to fine dining - one side is fully open to the shopping mall life lobby, neighbouring tables are only an arm length away. How can restaurant charge such high price, with such ordinary, small portion food and low class environment. …查看更多
It is very rare to find hunan restaurants in Hong Kong especially with authentic ingredients and taste. I miss Hunan food a lot as I used to have business trips to Hunan. I’m really glad to find this small noodle shop in Prince Edward. I tried two of the signature fish noodles. When I saw the Hunan white chilly, I knew it’d have the authentic taste. The soup, fish are really fresh and tasty. The noodle is different from the typical Hong Kong rice noodles, more silky, a better combination with the fish soup. The small side dish, dry radish with fried pork is a good combination with the soup noodle.I’ll be back often. …查看更多
I like Malaysian, Singapore food a lot. It is uncommon to find authentic Malaysian, Singapore food in Hong Kong.I am very happy with all the dishes I tried in this restaurant - I’ve been here several times already. The Laksa is excellent. Soup full of aroma, right mixture of vermicelli and yellow noodle. The toasts are very freshly made and delicious. The roti chani also fresh and crispy. Drinks are also with unique ingredients from Malaysian and Singapore.Nice friendly staff, clean environment. It’s my favourite restaurant in YMT now. Next to YMT MTR station, extremely convenient.…查看更多
We had a company lunch here with 6 staff. After seeing so many good reviews of the fried crab with fried rice, we ordered it with high expectation as the price was nearly >$680. But it was extremely disappointing. The crab was extremely dry, over fried, small size, hardly much meat, and most of all, tasteless. The staff mixed the crab york with the fried rice which was also extremely dry, could hardly eat. The whole dish was a total disaster. There’ were many nice dim sims and desserts which had very nice presentations. However, the crab ruined the whole lunch. Service was fine. …查看更多
I used to travel a lot to mainland China and I love Hunan cruisine which is very popular in major cities in the mainland. However there are very few Hunan restaurants in Hong Kong and most of them are disappointing - not authentical. I am really happy to find this Hunan restaurant, although the location is not very convenient. The restaurant has nice Chinese decoration, and is very packed. I went with a chilly lover friend to celebrate her birthday. we ordered the red and green chilly fish head, farm house stirred fried pork with chilly and sauted (smoked) bean curd. All 3 dishes taste very authentic. The pork dish came first, it has the very nice taste of home cook dish and went extremely well with rice. The fish head is extremely fresh and extraordinarily fatty and juicy. I preferred the pickled green chilly side of the fish head while my friend prefer the red side. The portion of the fish head was bigger than we expected, so when the bean curd came, we were already full. The sauted bean curd had the authentic Hunan smoke dish taste and the portion is also very generous. We were so full that we could not finish and my friend was more than happy to bring the rest home. The price is reasonable with the portion given.…查看更多
We had dinner in this restaurant after movie, because of convenience. turn out to be a wonderful surprise. Two of us order a dinner set which was one pizza with one fries and two soft drinks. The pizza was tailor made with our chosen toppings in less than 5 minutes! The fragrance of the freshly baked fermented dought and melted cheese filled the whole place. The pizza base was tender yet crispy, great with our chosen toppings. We finished the whole pizza in no time and could not resist to order another one. The Iatalian chef did the second pizza for us and it was even better than the first one. He is more expert in how the toppings should be distributed to bring out the best combination taste. We were extremely full after two pizza, but also extremely satisfied. I am not a fan of fries, but the fries is the best one I have tasted in Hong Kong. Very crispy, rightly browned on the outside, soft inside, the freshness is unsurpassed. The staff here are all very friendly. The atmosphere is casual and unpretentious. We liked everything in this restaurant …查看更多
I am a big fan of Yunnan rice noodle. This restaurant is my favorite place to have Yunnan rice noodle and I come here almost every week even though i live on the other side of Mei Foo. The best thing is the spicy soup of the noodle, the taste is authentic, very close to the taste of rice noodles I had in Yunnan. My favorite ingredients are turnip, mushroom and green vegetables. The cold octopus also tastes great, unique and refreshing. The small place is often crowded, luckily the service is efficient. Very happy to have such restaurant in Mei Foo.…查看更多
Four of us celebrated a friend’s birthday at 100 Bites. It’s our first time trying their Private Tasting Menu. We were given 2 choices of soup, 2 choices of entry, 4 choices of main course and 4 different types of desert for everyone. Before the soup came, we were provided with fresh warm herbal bread and freshly made fruit jam (green apple and blueberry) which were delicious. We all chose the mushroom truffle soup. It was fresh with nice aroma, we all enjoyed it.The entries include mango with shrimp, cold salmon, scallop, smoke duck and salads, all very nicely presented. Then we were given yogurt with cucumber to freshen up taste before main course.Four of us ordered 4 different main courses to share: duck leg, lamb chop, fatty salmon and beef (cow’s facial meat). All with very delicate colorful vegetables and thinly sliced potatos. I like the lamb the best as it was soft and juicy, but my friends thought it was too rare. I also like the fatty salmon very much and my friends like the duck which was cooked in a sweet and sour source. The main course was also accompanied with nice raspberry cocktail. Then came 5 types of desert (yes 5!): ginger bread, dark chocolate with rum, oreo biscuit, napoleon and…I forgot the 5th one, something with ice cream. We were all very full before the birthday cake (vanilla and green tea ice cream with fire stick) came. It was very kind of the restaurant to put Happy Birthday and my friend’s name on the plate of the cake.We enjoyed the food and the environment very much. The only drawback was, the shop owner and the chef kept coming to us to describe each dishes in detail, despite that the 4 of us were trying to have private conversations. It became quite annoying toward the end. Hope the owner would understand that people come for private menu (French dinner) in such a place probably prefer to have more privacy and enjoy the night with friends.…查看更多
I lke this small cozy low profile Italian restaurant very much. I am a pasta lover and the pasta here is the best I had in Hong Kong, even better than those in 5 star hotels. The waitress is very professional, knows their speciality well and what's seasonal. I told her we like pasta with tomato based source. She recommend two pasta not in the menu, both were 'heavenly', even better than we expected - we already had high expectation before coming. The restaurant is a bit far and difficult to find. That's probably a good thing - a real hidden gem. …查看更多
