Picked this place for dinner with 2 friends whom I have not seen for months and we had a great time catching up over decent food.  Greeted by the friendly staff and one of them recommended their popular dishes for our consideration.Pork bone and arrowroot soup (粉葛赤小豆豬腳湯) - A popular, healthy and nutritious soup which serves as an excellent source of dietary fiber and potassium.  With additional ingredients such as carrot and corn, it is a satisfying way to kick start the meal.Chinese spinach with garlic (蒜蓉莧菜) - this may be a common veggie dish at any Chinese restaurant yet a simple dish like this clearly demonstrated the chef’s skills.  The veggie is cooked to a point where the texture is just right and a touch of garlic makes it more flavorful which feels like home cooking.Clam with cabbage (花蛤浸包心菜) – a tad surprise with the portion and the size (larger than usual) of the clams.  Overall a tasty and hearty dish.Wasabi salad ribs (Wasabi 沙拉骨) - a traditional dish with a modern twist by infusing a new element - wasabi.  This is my favorite dishes of the night where I consumed half of it myself.  Being a wasabi fan myself, it could be better if the wasabi taste is stronger though.Typhoon shelter fish (避風塘班頭腩) - prepared with fried garlic bits, scallion and red chili, this dish is no lack of fragrance.   Combining with the juicy and tenderness of the fish, it is no surprise why this remains one of the popular dishes.This restaurant is also famous for their all-you-can-eat dim sum (over 50 different types of dim sum) lunch for under $100 which gives me a great reason to return soon.…查看更多

Lucciola is located on the 1st floor of The Hari where you have to navigate through the cozy hotel reception area to reach the restaurant.The lunch set is reasonably priced, portion is just right and the food is tasty overall.The hamachi tartare with avocado was refreshing; the mussels were surprisingly fresh and chewy and the steak was spot on at medium rare.Dessert wise, the torta caprese bianca (almond lemon cake), the homemade mascarpone gelato and the chocolate caramel bar added a nice final touch that wrapped up the meal with satisfaction.The chic atmosphere, great food with pleasant service make it an ideal venue for casual / business lunch.…查看更多

Visited the Peak Galleria on Sunday and came across Yucca De Lac, a familiar and nostalgic name (that also reveals my age 😅) that’s been around for over 4 decades where it was previously located in Shatin.  We’ve decided to check the place out to see whether it lives up to the renowned Yucca De Lac name.Before being seated, a staff led us to the balcony area where we got to enjoy the stunning Victoria Harbor view.  There are couple of tables in that outdoor area but it was a windy day hence we’ve decided to sit indoor.They did a decent job with the interior renovation and decorations mimicking the old Shatin outdoor area with green plants and bunch of LED screens in the ceiling displaying moving green lights.Before jumping into the signature dishes, we started off with 2 special drinks - the coconut smoothie with red bean (紅豆椰子沙冰) and the pineapple iced drink (懷舊波蘿冰).  The coconut drink is sweet and stuffy, it’s better to share with another person and save some stomach space for the food.  The miniature paper umbrella and the paper pineapple are absolute classic that bring back lots of memories.Yam bean, edamame and crab meat on toast (沙葛毛豆蟹肉多士) – the dish may look ordinary and bland (could add some colorful ingredients to boost the presentation) but there’s a pleasant surprise when I took the first bite; the taste and the texture of the edamame wentwell with the crab meat.Sizzling stuffed tofu with minced pork jowl meat in skillet pan (懷舊煎釀山水豆腐) – the sizzling hot tofu was fried to a perfect golden color which looks and tastes excellent.Signature deep fried marinated pigeon with secret spice (秘制紅燒乳鴿) – it’s been a while since I last had a decent pigeon with such crispy skin; the dish itself is worth returning for.Sakura shrimp scallion shaihai noodle (櫻花蝦蔥油拌麵) – the scent from the scallion is so rich that it turns a simple dish into a desirable one. The noodle is cooked to a point that is moist but not greasy, perfectly suits my liking.Seared French lamb spare rib with crushed potato, sautéed prawns and aged balsamic jus (烤焗法國羊小排配手壓薯仔炒蝦及陳醋燒汁) – one of the lamb spare ribs was overcooked which was a bit disappointing but the other piece was tender which made up for it.Had my eye on the tiramisu but unfortunately did not have tummy space for it so will save it for next time.Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience with the beautiful environment, great food and attentive service (they swing by from time to time to refill my cup of hot water to ensure it stayed hot) that we left with a full stomach.…查看更多

A small shop in the North Point neighborhood that serves reasonably priced breakfast.  The place is clean unlike the usual Hong Kong styled café and decorated with some interesting art works.Came on a Sunday before 10:00 and there was already a queue which we have waited roughly 20 minutes before getting in.There are lots of choices on the menu and overall the food was decent plus the serving time was fast (and friendly).  Likely a place that I'll revisit again.…查看更多

Was in the hood a few weeks back for dinner and picked this one based on its decor. This restaurant specializes in slow cooked food hence its name.My order of garlic bread was ‘slow’ because I was told the chef put in the ribs from the other customer into the oven first and we’ve waited a while. The staff apologized for the arrangement and was kind enough to offer us ice cream to compensate the wait.Overall dining experience was pleasant. The food was decent especially the tiger prawn linguini which was a bit spicy but very tasty. Wish the menu could indicate the spicy dishes as my son couldn’t eat spicy food that we had to order something else for him.Despite the minor nagging, it’s a place worth revisiting.…查看更多

Randomly walked into this restaurant and turned out to be a pleasant surprise.  It’s nicely decorated and spacious where you won’t be sitting too closely with other customers.Food is not top notch but above average; the beef from the noodle soup was tender and juicy while the chicken was not very meaty (mostly bones…); nonetheless, the staff were polite and friendly which made up for it.There are 2 private rooms for larger groups with karaoke available making it a great hang out spot.…查看更多
