Wow!

This is a small restaurant located in Flores District, on Taipa. Arriving Macau for my three-day relax trip I started with something light so decided to go for this congee and rice roll. Not particularly easy to find in a residential area, there is no tourist in the restaurant but just locals, and we were seated in a fairly traditional table at the corner. We have opted for a mix of three snacks, which include rice rolls, a dragon dumpling, and a few sui mai. The rice rolls looked to be made by the restaurant themselves, quite thickly rolled and maybe I am more used to the texture of a more chewiness this one is too soft for me. The dragon dumpling is fair, nothing of surprise while the siu mai also seems to be made in-house but offered no excitement to me.I have ordered a 'teng chai' congee which is quite tasty, with pig skin, peanuts, cha siu, roasted goose shreds and fish cake shreds. The congee texture is smooth and velvety, with the condiments adding good flavors and this congee is something I would welcome as a snack late in the evening after party (or some serious gambling!).Ivy had the other signature dish which is the braised beef tendon noodle. The tendon is braised nicely to be chewy yet not overly so, easy to eat with some nice flavors. The noodle however was a bit mediocre so it could not give her sufficient reason to give the dish a good recommendation. With two lime soda along, the total bill was $127 which was decently priced. Considering it was not particularly easy to come by, the food was nothing fantastic enough for me to recommend someone to come all the way to try. However, it would be a neighborhood style place for easy meals in all hours. My overall rating is 38/100.
