Wandering around in Sheung Wan with a laptop in hand and 45 minutes to kill, I sat down at Pret a manger at the end of my fruitless search for a better place in the district - theres basically no better place where you can sit,sip something other than coffee and work comfortably without being starred at in Sheung Wan. The classic fresh fruits salad consists of cuts of different fruits like oranges, grapes, kiwis, melons and pineapples. They were juicy, fresh and sweet - very nice;id want something like THAT for lunch at my school everyday!
Next i opened the lid of my favourite banana and honey pret bowl and smelt the sweetness of honey rushing out from the yogurt. The greek yogurt by itself is thick and rather bland, yet it served as the best companion to the super-chokingly-sweet honey and banana slices.
The granola on top was homemade - you virtually cant find the thing elsewhere but at Pret - and was oh-so-crunchy and sweet. It had a unique chewy texture as in the way how it is soft and wet on the outside and yet remains hard and crunchy in the middle. This could only be achieved by preparing them fresh, as i had tried storing them overnight in a fridge and the granola just went mouldy and mushy in the morning.The environment was pleasant and quiet, but do not expect the same during peak hours like 8:30 or during lunchtime. I've heard this place often goes insanely packed with people during peak hours so i always try to avoid the prime hours so as to enjoy a slow and satisfying yet healthy and fresh meal at Pret's.
