Pica pica has been on my friend’s and my wish list for a while and we were finally there!! Both of us were impressed by the interior and the great ambience of the restaurant - I felt as though I was brought back in to my Spain trip last year. The staff was attentive enough to offer us a paper bag for masks. It was so kind of them to introduce the menu to us as it’s our first visit to the resto. The staff was attentive enough to offer us a paper bag for masks. It was so kind of them to introduce the menu to us as it’s our first visit to the resto.

We ordered ham croquette, seafood paella and red prawn hotdog as the staff recommended. Ham croquette is a great value of money, just $15/pc. The filling is cheesy and savoury with diced ham, the exterior is light and crispy.

Seafood paella is a WOWWW. It lives up to its name

(I’ve had squid ink pasta without squid ink flavour in a couple of cafes). The texture of the rice is just right and I really appreciate the briny umami taste of squid ink. The pork and squid on top is well seasoned and goes well with the rice. Will definitely come back for this.

As for the red prawn hotdog, I have to admit that the portion is a bit too small that it’s about the size of two pieces of madeleines (coz I made madeleines with my friend earlier that day hahahaaa) Yet taste-wise, it’s masterly. The prawn meat almost melted in my mouth and I definitely like the tomalley flavour from the prawn head juice. Worth trying despite its size^^

Last but not least (also what triggered me to write a review as I’ve been a lazy foodie

), a shout-out to the resto’s hospitality💯 my friend made a reservation earlier as she wanted to celebrate my birthday with me and she expected the signature Spanish cheesecake today. Unfortunately there’s been some sort of accident and cheesecake wasn’t available today. Pica pica was heartwarming enough to offer us a chocolate dessert which the staff has recommended for free! What surprised me most is the birthday card with signatures of their team!!! Totally unanticipated and it’s just so sweet of them. I’d have expected this if it’s a five-star hotel restaurant. Really appreciate their effort. I can feel that the staff was proud of their resto and they try their very best to deliver an excellent dining experience to their customers.
