First dish: fish madras + roti
My perception of roti is really thin/fluffy loosely wrapped type of bread. This roti is like cooked pizza bottom - hard, dry, and thick.
Fish madras - wanted something sweet, but this one is a failure. its soooo watered down, super thin and tasteless... you get one piece of potato and like 3 pieces of frozen fish thrown into it. the worst curry ever!
second dish: garlic brocoli - mixture of water, oil, and garlic bits. tastewise its ok, just salty and very wet (oil or water?)
third dish: the meat (non-veg) platter, which includes 2 pieces of chicken, lamb (one piece only), 2 pieces of fish, and 2 sauage type of things. this is the point where i get drowned in sodium intake and will die from heart attack. each piece (except the fish) is SUPER salty..! Speechless. Chicken/lamb tasted all right. Fish was slightly stale (deep fried), positive thing is that there were onions at the bottom.
fourth dish: garlic roti + kahari chickenthis was ordered together, but the roti was served before the chicken.. so what am I supposed to dip it in? It's going to cold out in the open..!! (this is where i whine lol)
I asked the south-asian part time worker what can I order that is not watered down curry. He suggested this one. This one is not bad! Slightly oily beyong my liking, but at least its better than the other 3! Garlic naan was steaming hot, but like the roti its slightly hard (i've had softer ones that were soooooo good - and that was just a fast food restaurant).The verdict:
Maybe owner changed? I have other curry outlets at my disposal, and this won't be one of them. I remember I ordered butter chicken 5 years ago. It was creamy, strong in tomato/sweet taste - completely different that the 2 currys I had today.
Also, this place doesn't seem the most clean.
