I was reading godbro XO's reviews from earlier this month and saw that he had Korean beef, which looked absolutely delicious, so I told him that I want to try Hanwoo too! He found a Hanwoo restaurant, which was relatively close to my nail salon, and we decided to meet up on Monday before I left for the US. After I had gotten my nails done, I took the Mid-Levels Escalator up to Staunton Street, which is where Mugung Hanwoo Beef Specialist is located!
Once inside, you can see that the restaurant's decor tells you right away that it's a BBQ beef restaurant with the cow diagram on the wall and the ventilation hoods hanging from the ceiling.
Mugung has a pretty extensive alcohol selection along with a few beers on draught, but since godbro has a tango session after dinner, we decided to skip drinking tonight!
Since we checked out the restaurant ahead of time, XO and I knew ahead of time that we wanted to order the Complete Hanwoo Set.

White Rice with Hanwoo Brisket Slices: The delicately-seasoned Hanwoo brisket slices were served with hot fluffy aromatic rice! These brisket slices were very thinly-sliced, so they weren't as tough as they could have been, and it was the right size to go with the rice!
We knew that up next was the highly-anticipated BBQ Hanwoo when the server gave us the seasonings along with fresh leafy lettuce to accompany the Hanwoo!

Next, our server helped us grill the Hanwoo, where she skillfully cooked the BBQ Hanwoo on the grill to the perfect doneness! She expertly maneuvered the ventilation hood so that all the smoke went right up the vent!

The Hanwoo I had at Mugung Hanwoo Beef Specialist did not disappoint, and the Complete Hanwoo Set definitely showcased many aspects of Hanwoo! Since Mugung is a new establishment, there might be a couple kinks to work out. Godbro XO and I were a little overwhelmed with how quickly the different courses were served! We felt a little rushed, and if the courses were served one by one, we could have enjoyed the Hanwoo even more!
