It was Christmas season and since it has been a long while I last seen my nephew, thus I decided to meet them up for lunch today and to give out Christmas presents as well. Since he was quite young and loved cartoon, I decided to bring him to TeaWood Taiwanese Cafe & Restaurant. Their mongkok branch has a menu theme involving Chibi Maruko Chan and apparently was quite popular. Their menu was decorated in cute style and the whole café was decorated in Chibi Maruko Chan's theme, allowing customers to take photo of it. Even the drinks and food served was decorated according to the theme.
Since the food we ordered exceed a certain limit, they gave us a calendar with Chibi Maruko Chan's characters in it.
Hanawa Kazuhiko rose latte - The drink was rather plain, not too sweet. It has slight coffee and rose taste as well.
Tomozou sakura mocha au lait - It was sweet and clear, with strong green tea taste. The bottle was designed nicely, suitable for young kids.
Noodles with stewed beef brisket with tendon and beef tripe - The chef was very generous with the serving, with huge portion of beef. Noodle was very chewy and soup was flavourful, absorbing the essence of the beef. Beef was tender and juicy as well.
Prince Hanawa kazuhiko rice with cheese scallop mushroom and fried shrimps - It was displayed nicely and cute in appearance. Rice was chewy and fried shrimps was crispy and juicy. Mushroom was cheesy and juicy as well, and scallop was fresh and chewy.
Chibi maruko chan molten green tea cake - This desserts must have been very popular with kids, as it was very cute. Green tea cake was soft and warm, fluffy as well. Ice cream was sweet and has strong green tea taste. Napoleon was very crispy and sliced fruits was fresh too.
