Mexican isn't very common in Hong Kong. The few times we've had it here, it's not quite like the ones we're use to. So, when we came across this place, we found a lot of expats dining there. Curious, we noted it served Mexican and decided to give it a try.The place is very nicely decorated. Seating was spacious and I loved the wall art they had.The bar was also beautifully designed. Menu is in English and Chinese. They offer the usual Mexican fare that is found in Hong Kong: tacos, burritos, enchiladas, quesadilla, fajitas. And a wide variety of drinks. It's clearly Tex-mex.
Boyfriend ordered a Gringo ($108). Whiskey, tequilla, sour mix, passionfruit puree. It was really on the strong side. So, if you want a nice strong drink ... this bartender is it!
I had a mocktail. The one thing with the mocktail menu is they were all named after a popular US tv show but there was not actual description of what they were. So, I had to ask and the waiter was quite helpful. I chose Friends ($82) which was presented in a pretty glass shaped like a bird. Though I wasn't sure how I felt drinking out of it's tail. It was sweet with a taste of berries.
We started off with nachos and there are plenty to choose from. This is the Buffalo Chicken Nachos ($118). They were very pretty, using blue and red tortilla chips. There was plenty of shredded chicken meat that was nicely seasoned and rather spicy. A lot of jalepeno slices as well. The only thing that lacked was there wasn't enough cheese. This is a common thing I've found in many Hong Kong places serving nachos. I think I've gotten used to it.
Loaded All Meat Quesadilla ($108) were really good. I loved these. It had a mix of lamb, pork, beef and chicken. There was a nice little bit of cheese to tie it all in together. The tortilla was nicely tosted. I loved the salsa.
Crispy Fried Fish Tacos ($118) came in a really nice curved tray so it was easy to handle in one swoop. The fish was crispy and moist. There was nice hint of chili that was just enough to give it a kick without being too spicy.
The food was fine. Not quite like the ones I have back home but still it was fairly tasty. Service was helpful. Would come again for a drink and a casual bite with friends.
