The restaurant only have a few customers. We waited over an hour after ordering yet still no sign of our meal. 1 hour! and still no sign!!! not even a glass of water! My 2 year old daughter was crying starving!!!We will never ever ever return to this restaurant! EVER EVER!

Went on a Sunday for a late lunch, arrived at 2pm and was greeted cheerfully by two of the ladies supervising the operations. good start! then we ordered our meal, had the first one served after 20mins of waiting (still OK) but it went downhill from there. our second dish took an hour and a half to be served.. for a while we thought they forgot it. the second glass of beer my husband ordered, took 5-6 times follow up ( half an hour ), the dessert, which was just a banoffee pie, took 45mins, and when we asked for the bill, it took them half an hour to settle it.the interesting thing about it is they have enough staff, and at 4:30pm, the place was only half full, so we don't understand what the delay was all about and what's confusing the servers about the orders.additionally, it was not only us who were complaining about the lousy service; the table beside us had kids crying because they were waiting for their food for a quite a long time too.the food itself was not exceptional, the view and location was perfect, but the lousy service definitely nailed it for us. not coming back here.So to provide more details on the food, we ordered a platter of calamari, shrimp, soft shell crab and the food was not exceptional. The serving size was good enough for the price, but its surprising that their pricing is similar to Central restaurants.We also ordered spicy chicken with lemon and this one was disappointing because it was too dry, hence was difficult to eat. And it didn't come with anything other than some sauce.Considering these, and the long waiting time for food service and the Central- level price of food, my husband and I feel that its not worth coming back.

I went to The Beach House for my birthday and reserved a table for 5pm. We were hikin the South Lantau Country Trail that day and arrived late - at 5.45pm. The waiter made a sidecomment about us being 45 minutes late when we arrived and that our table wasn't ready although the restaurant was 15% full. I don't know if this makes sense to you, but this already irked us.SettingThis is the best thing about the restaurant.The location and ambience of this restaurant is its greatest (and only) asset. You can hardly go wrong when you seize the beachfront property. In its place used to be The Stoep - a South African place, which served great food. The Beach House totally renovated its formerly shabby interiors and now everything is new and much nicer. Especially the bathrooms. In terms of cleanliness, however, The Beach House falters in day-to-day mainenance. I know it's a beach restaurant and there will inevitably be sand everywhere, but they could at least pick up the food and crumbs from the diners. There are stains all over their couches, which is also fine, but food scraps are unacceptable. Especially when we've made a reservation and everything should have been cleaned and prepared beforehand.ServiceThe staff were overly casual to the point of irreverence and complacency. They were just so lazy; it took forever to order. They were the opposite of attentive. We had to keep calling their attention. They took forever to bring some dishes. Obviously more training needs to be done here.FoodMediocre at best. The menu was recently updated but still the same old regular western food.The burger and steak were standard, servings were pretty large, price was high (comparable to Central) but at least you get a lot more for it. The "Moroccan Chicken" was described as 'spicy' - it was not. Tajine isn't even spicy anyway. Flavour and texture were okay for roast chicken but if you're looking for Moroccan chicken then it falls flat.The Lantau Salad was alright, needed more figs.The steak was pretty hefty. We appreciated the serving size.Chips / fries were huge. Wish they had a sweet potato (healthier) option but that's really asking for too much already here.....Mille Feuille – A thousand leaves layered with custard cream, strawberry coulis, caramelized almondsThis was absolutely horrific. It was so oily and old tasting, the opposite of crisp and light, all I could taste was oil and heavy pastry and cream cream cream drowning everything. It was every patisserie's nightmare come to life.Would I return?Not for the food or service. It was really so traumatic - especially on my birthday - that I would probably try all the other restaurants on Lower Cheung Sha before returning to this one.

去下长沙泳滩晒太阳,晒到五点几六点,有啲饿就食埋嘢先出番东涌!呢间新开的未试过,一于试下!一睇餐牌,有啲惊吓!咁贵嘅价钱同市区一样㖞!心谂佢嘅定价都非常之进取下!不过算啦,个环境又好舒服,今日天气好好有海风一啲都唔热,加埋个黄昏景,豪比你我哋叫咗两杯嘢饮,一个沙律同一个炸鱿鱼!谂住食完再叫其他!我叫嘅系Apple cider from New Zealand,男朋友唔记得咗佢叫乜😅我杯Apple cider好重发酵味,唔似S品牌咁甜,如果嗜甜嘅会有啲失望!男朋友杯系啤酒嚟,但好浊一啲都唔清,好得意!饮落仲好有果味,比我嘅Apple cider 更果!但我唔记得咗佢个名😂炸鱿鱼同藜麦沙律一齐上!两样个size系有惊喜嘅!虽然价钱同市区一样,但份量就比到十足!呢啲先系我哋需要嘅炸鱿鱼,好大碗份量十足!好彩我哋叫细嘅,大嘅不敢想像味道唔错,炸浆唔会太厚,炸出嚟都唔会太油或者有万年油味加咗少少葱炸蒜辣椒喺面,再另配一碟酸辣酱汁,好味藜麦沙律,真心冇谂过坚系成碗藜麦!市区嘅一定系好几块沙律菜加呢度1/4份量嘅藜麦就算!呢度,足一碗!坚饱!亦因为咁足份量,所以叫唔到我哋想叫嘅fish & chips唯有下次⋯⋯讲番个沙律,劲健康,冇乜油醋酱汁,净系用少许橄榄油加啲红葱青葱红萝卜丝青瓜丝捞埋!伴碟有啲沙律菜好新鲜大块,太大块食到成面都系😂!坐喺度睇住日落叹番杯真系一流如果冇咁多蚁同地下冇咁湿(可能系上手搞到成地水)就完美

长沙海滩是中学阶段宿营的热点。仿如昨日的青蒽岁月,炎夏之中的海水味道与带著沙粒的微风来一又次迎面吹来。多少年?已记不清多少年没再没有踏足长沙海滩,每逢夏天东涌港铁站外的大屿山的士站,带著水泡、浮板的人儿,在烈日爆晒下形成的长队,看得我几乎昏过去,大抵那些年的冲劲被日子活埋了!一个和暖但天阴的冬日,老公带我到下长沙泳滩去,这刻的沙滩不太一样,变得平静、闲适,别有一番味道。沙滩前排有一家租售滑浪用品及可供烧烤的店子,还有几家富有个性的餐厅,我们闲走了一会,选择了近路口的「The Beach House」。一盆吉子带来西方下的新春意境!设计简单,但富心思,整体以整洁舒适著眼,令人喜欢的格调!冬天加上闲日的关系游人不多,我们便在面对海滩的首排座位坐下!餐牌非常简单,但统统也是精选,大部份也能对上我们的口味!面对著广阔的沙滩,在骤晴骤暗的天色,看著不减兴致的游人玩乐,来一口啤酒也是特别的畅快!「Gweilo」这品牌确是不错,连少喝啤的我也被吸引了!入口满满怡人的蜜香,爽朗清脆,而饱满的质感,不涩带微甜的味道,令人意想不到由香港酿制的啤酒,也会如此出色!老公在别处喝的都是瓶装的「Gweilo」,而生啤则首次在下长沙海滩找到,看来「The Beach House」的老板对啤酒也有一定的坚持!虽然回暖,但我也欲来一碗热汤。在近门口的黑板写上了当天的推介,其中一款是 Lightly Creamed Mushroom Soup。Lightly Creamed Mushroom Soup 的汤面盛了几片磨菇,还有香草和一道橄榄油!对于磨菇汤而言,将本身柔软的磨菇打得细滑融渣,不一定是最佳的做法。这道 Lightly Creamed Mushroom Soup 充满磨菇粒粒、但没有过稠的质感,反而切合我的口味,单是丰盈的口感层次已能突围而出。加上香草与上汤的浓厚的味道,磨菇的香气虽然因此被削弱了,变成一个小弱点,不过沾上脆香的面包,又是另一种美味的体会。整体而言,也甚为理想。每次到户外的餐厅,我们总要吃过炸鱿鱼,彷佛炸鱿鱼就跟欢欣连成一线。可是老公点菜时竟忽略了他至爱的炸鱿鱼,幸好我这大近视突如其来的眼力,不让这个沙滩遗失鱿鱼的乐趣!鱿鱼切成了小块,炸得干爽。表层的炸浆似有还无,但可见圆状的黑胡椒和红色的辣椒粉黏附著。鱿鱼的香气由幽香的胡椒、小咸和温和的辣度引出,是一道令人多尝也不腻的炸鱿鱼!不过,随炸鱿鱼而来的泰式酸辣汁,大致由青柠、鱼露、辣椒、蒜和甜混合,又可带出开胃与醒神的风格!Bucket of Whole Australian Prawns 香气诱人!吃前先为它添上点点的柠檬汁。虾壳带有惹味的椒盐,绝对不要顾及仪态,将虾壳的美味尽收,不然会浪费厨师的心血。来自澳洲的虾只,虾肉爽嫩但显得无味,因此是 Garlic Aioli 发挥魅力的时候了。蘸上质感幼滑、具蒜香和清酸,一派怡人气息的 Garlic Aioli,令淡淡的虾肉活泼起来,吃得我们津津有味。相信此酱汁配合海洋里其他跳脱的海鲜,实也不错!其实已经蛮饱了,不过还是不舍 「The Beach House」的美食与环境!遂要来了 Hearty Tuscan Vegetable Stew。Hearty Tuscan Vegetable Stew 以杂豆为主力,再混上菠菜和香草,酱汁由清鲜自然的蕃茄汁构成。如果您喜欢豆类,光吃著也不觉是闷,因为豆子焖煮得软腍,更溢出芳香的香草味儿。假如配上「The Beach House」香脆富筋性的面包上,也是不错的考虑!下长沙泳滩的环境与「The Beach House」的美食,令我重燃起青蒽岁月那一团火,这个夏天,我与沙滩有个约会!
