一直想试试在元朗开张了良久的这家蛋糕店,店内就只有一个放满蛋糕的大冷柜,定价也不低,不敢多买。除了贩售蛋糕,也有开班教授。牛奶果仁 $33Milk & nutlet cake整体偏甜腻,牛奶味不自然反倒像忌廉一样惹人怕,幸好中间有著一层厚厚的酸莓果酱稍作中和,而看似蛋糕的饼底亦较硬身。唯独可取的是整个蛋糕都布满果仁:如南瓜籽等等,不过总结来说此质素不值这个价钱!绿茶歌剧院 $33Green tea opera cake眼见外形吸引便买下,蛋糕共有多层,由上至下为:硬身的胶质层、薄薄一层绿茶忌廉、深绿色绿茶酱、普通海绵蛋糕、绿茶酱、海绵、绿茶忌廉、硬身蛋糕层。面和底层较硬难分开,而绿茶酱味道很粉很造作,海绵蛋糕无味,绿茶忌廉味淡却很甜很甜,稀用力叉下去时,面上都还没叉得进,底层忌廉就受压不断挤出,层次吃著不明显,徙得一个甜字。 继续阅读

I wanted to surprise cousin J with a cake from a place that she had never tried before, so I had to go far away to Yuen Long. Ha!  After over an hour of transportation, I arrived at Karl'z Cake Design. There were different individual cakes neatly displayed in the fridge, and all looked so delicious. Service:From the phone call to the pick up, the staff showed their friendliness. Taste & Value: Cousin J likes cheesecakes and lemon tarts, so I got her this Lemon Cheesecake, which was a perfect combination of what she likes. In terms of looks, this cake was beautiful. However, in terms of taste and texture, it was less attractive. The texture was very crumbly and was hard to keep on a fork/spoon. Then, the taste was odd. I have never been too fond of lemony stuff and cheesecakes, and this cake didn't make me like these flavours anymore. Final Verdict:I could have got a better tasting cake elsewhere, with less travelling time involved. It would have been worth it if the cake was good, but ...... you know, so I probably wouldn't go again.  继续阅读

基本上咩味都有...红豆绿茶卷, 72%特浓朱古力, 咖啡, opera cake, 菠萝油王子...其实所有西饼都唔系坊间讲到咁夸张咁好食...但我明白, 因为元朗区实在冇呢一类型饼店...所以karlz cake design在元朗开舖, 的确有它优胜之处...就是没有competition...如果开在大坑九龙城等等位置, 佢应该冇招架之力...红豆绿茶卷: 个蛋糕texture唔够滑,仲有少少鞋, 冇乜绿茶味...红豆唔够多...同埋太多cream, 我觉得蛋糕既厚度应该比忌廉厚先会少d油腻感...但呢个红豆绿茶卷竟然系staff的推介...72%特浓朱古力: 朱古力味唔够浓, 唔够香, 只系好普通一旧朱古力cake...我唔明年佢72%特浓去左边?? 就系好普通一旧brownie...seriously!!!佢卖几十蚊一旧我真系觉得唔值...九龙好多西饼店做得好过佢...菠萝油王子: 我见个名几得意又谂住试下, 同埋自己几钟意菠萝~呢件应该算系5件里面中上standard既产品...菠萝夹心同软滑朱古力都几夹...opera cake: 又一件名过于实既西饼...其实果d连锁西饼店都同佢差唔多standard...但人地价钱仲平一大截...我真系唔需要俾成40蚊买一旧连锁店standard既西饼...希望个chef可以睇到呢份食评之后再钻研一下...我觉得佢地有能力做得更好...因为菠萝油王子呢个idea系好, 同埋turn out出来个卖相&味道都出乎意料之外!另外mention一下, 那里的staff的服务态度唔错~ 很有礼貌~ 继续阅读

看过杂志有推介过,所以难得到元朗便特意去尝一下。听闻有其中一名老板是日本饼店 Nounours 藤田克典的徒弟,因此蛋糕卖相走东洋风。推门而至,看门面著实是以精致左卖点。我们一行二人都有选择困难症,但店员热心推介下,我们选了蛋香千层($29)抹茶红豆卷($29)。价钱不算高,也不算低。可能两款蛋糕都不是藤田克典的徒弟做的…. 所以有点失望。对抹茶红豆卷($29)我抱有期望,毕竟那是日式饼店,绿茶红豆不能做得不好。但蛋卷抹茶味淡,连抹茶mousse 都欠抹茶味… 不仅于此,抹茶卷质感偏干。若要比较,东海堂做的抹茶红豆卷更胜一筹。不单抹茶味较浓 蛋糕湿润松软,价钱更是低一半($14)蛋香千层($29)蛋香欠奉,忌廉亦未到能担当主角的质素水平。最后点评,可能是市面离志无题材,而这好歹都有名师徒弟坐镇,才会推介。以上两件cake不至于难以咽下,不过质素普通,一点都不值得推介。 继续阅读

知呢间店开左一段小时间, 咁所以爱吃甜食既我一定会试一试..结果觉得价钱同味道不一..如果呢件cholocate cake咁, 其实佢既味道好似某大西饼店里面个只cholocate cake既味..一d香浓cholocate味都冇, 而且蛋糕馅好实....绿茶红豆, 就好似发水蛋糕咁..太过湿, 唔知系因为雪得太耐定点, 而且绿茶蛋糕唔够软熟...但红豆馅都尚可接受..如果每件饼价钱差唔多四十蚊一件, 咁我唔会考虑食...虽然卖相吸引...但味道仍需改善.... 继续阅读
