情人节是否一定要庆祝? 不要说什么天天都是情人节的傻话,除非你每天都跟情人Fine dining,每天都浪漫地谈心。如果做不到,至少一年一次在佳节来吃一顿丰富的情人餐吧。我这晚就来到位于跑马地的HMV Kafe,决定饰演个大众情人。HMV Kafe胜在环境宁静,给人一种低调的感觉,可以避开热闹和人潮。餐厅内播放的音乐,是HMV一班员工精心挑选的,音乐以舒服Relax为主,应该不会惹起情侣吵架吧!这个情人节套餐,特别为花为主题,将七种不同的花变成七道菜,亦加入份子料理元素,期望令爱侣心花怒放。头盘用Tagete Flower (万寿花),菜名叫Enchanted Garden (魔法花园),其实是一道沙律,花盘内每一样都可以吃的,泥土是柯华田粉末,至于花草则有甘笋和西兰花等,给人一种清新的田园风味。Begonia Flower (秋海棠)Perfect Pair (香煎鸭肝配鹅肝慕丝酿车厘茄伴黑醋鱼子),鸭肝配鹅肝慕丝就像一对绝配佳人,加埋车厘茄和黑醋鱼子推波助澜,便如胶似漆。Chamomile (洋甘菊)Chamonile Pond (洋甘菊鸡清汤伴鲜牛肝菌)年轻人别太冲动,别要一开始就太激情,饮一客清甜的洋甘菊鸡清汤,清一清口腔,然后才继续…谈情。Borage Flower (琉璃苣)Light Curry Gelato (淡咖哩意式雪糕配烟肉薯蓉泡沫)中场休息来一客雪糕吧! 咖哩Gelato调得颇恰当,不会太重口味,亦显现咖哩的香浓,上面一层薯蓉泡沫就是浓味的中和剂,今整件事不会太沉重。主菜有两款选择,也同样用了份子料理的一些特点来炮制,Pansy (三色堇)Apples, Apples, Apples (烟熏苹果木三文鱼配苹果醋泡沫)三文鱼原本只是平平无奇,加了一层苹果醋泡沫便是画龙点晴,无论视觉和触觉上都诱人无比。Nasturtium (金莲花)Steak and Flowers (烤澳洲和牛配番薯啫喱伴金莲花)外观令我想起东坡肉,实则郤是和牛而非猪肉,上面一层不是肥膏而是番薯啫喱,质感也相似,而且不是太甜,那就放心吃吧。Lavender (薰衣草)La Boulle de Chocolat (拉布勒朱古力配血橙奶冻伴樱桃鱼子)以薰衣草作甜品,亦作结尾,盛上时,厨子在甜品上倒下朱古力,内里的血橙奶冻便渐渐呈现出来,薰衣草味亦在四边溢出,我认为可以比喻情侣要打开心扉,才能作进一步交往。最后饮一壶Lemongrass Green Tea定定神。送了几朵花,你可会愿意跟我吃一顿情人节餐,然后一起听音乐?如果冇人约怎么办? 我或许会一个人来饮杯咖啡,说不定会遇上同样寂寞的人。

闲时都会唻HMV Kafe食晏或食Tea,整体食物质素中规中矩,咖啡饮品类时刻保持一贯水准,首推Mocha。食物(尤其set lunch)就唔系时时都咁啱胃口,反而散叫嘢食质素较好。Set lunch一般为三选一,$98至$128不等,通常每星期转一次款,有三文治类配薯条,意粉/长通粉类,意大利饭,煎鱼,烤鸡,牛肋条等等.... 配以沙律或餐汤,及餐饮。1)只试过一次尝到牛:肉质好松软,配汁好味,肉嘅份量超足够,但冇乜配菜,啱哂食肉兽。2)煎鱼/鸡类:鱼扒不时会转种类,煎鱼一般都保持水准,外皮脆内肉质软滑,份量唔太多,有时配少量蔬菜,薯蓉,有时配少量红米饭/意大利饭。3)长通粉/意粉类:一般最常食到茄汁长通粉或意粉,或白汁什菌意粉等......款式普普通通,味道不过不失,但欣赏佢食物够热。 4)意大利饭类:饭质偏硬啲啲,有配以鱿鱼,鱼,青口等等海鲜之类,亦有配什菌之类,味道不过不失。5)三文治类:一般都系脆包加啲蔬菜,有时配烤鸡,有时配火鸡片之类,味道不过不失,视乎咩配料,另配香口炸薯条,份量都几足。6)Pizza类:无论散叫嘅pizza或set lunch嘅pizza,size都几足,够2人分享,且普遍味道都唔错,好食!7)小食类:试过鸡翼,炸鸡肉条,炸鱼柳...等等,冇咩特别,味道都可以的。8)咖啡类:试过多款唔同咖啡,普遍味道都唔差,最钟意都系Mocha,咖啡拉花或画花时有唔同,视乎咖啡师而定。整体而言,食物水准中规中矩,一般cafe西餐尚可,咖啡饮品质素较食品为好,价钱中中上,但服务都几好,店员都好nice又有礼貌,闲唻一试无妨。P.S. 近期加价后又做紧优惠,第2份set lunch可享半价优惠,不过唔知优惠做到几时。

Out of all the Valentines menus I have seen this year, the one at HMV Kafe seems romantic because it is laid out like a scene in one of Shakespeares plays.It is divided into ACTS, INTERLUDE and the FINALE.The set is priced at $1288 for two including tea or coffee. Here was the set that we had.★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★ACT IEnchanted Garden (Tagete flower)This was a beautiful array of vegetables on a bed of mushroom soil.I just felt that the mushroom soil was not exciting enough because I couldn't quite taste the mushrooms. It could be improved by putting bacon bits to make it tastier.★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★Perfect Pair (Begonia flower)Next we had foie gras which was paired with vinegar pearls, the sharpness of the vinegar balanced the foie gras nicely.★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★Chamomile Pond (Chamomile)This was chicken consomme infused with Chamomile.It was clear with a strong chicken taste.★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★InterludeLight Curry Gelato (Borage flower)The curry icecream was a great kick to the tastebuds because the spices were alive and the potato foam on top was silky and viscous and which smoothed it all out.★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★ACT IIApples, Apples, Apples (Pansy)ORSteak and Flowers (Nasturtium)There is a choice of steak or salmon.Steak is definitely the one to choose because the vibrant potato jelly layer is mesmerising.★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★FinaléLa Boulle de Chocolat (Lavender)When this is served, they pour hot chocolate on top which melts the top away exposing the blood orange flavoured panna cotta beneath it with Kirsch caviar pearls.The panna cotta was absolutely refreshing with a strong citrus flavour★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★After a lovely dinner, it was finished off with tea.To summarize, I was quite impressed by their creativity and the effort they put in creating a menu like that which surpasses an ordinary cafe.

Though I live in Happy Valley, I rarely eat in Happy Valley. This is mostly due to the fact that I tend to meet my friends and boyfriend elsewhere and if they come to my house, I tend to make them dinner. On this day, I woke up very late in the afternoon as I had spent most of the night watching a Korean tv drama and I just didn't want to trek out to Causeway Bay and stand in line for food. So, I decided to try out HMV Kafe. I had wanted to try it when it first opened but since I have to walk a few blocks to go there for a coffee, I always ended up just walking to Starbucks which is near by.HMV Kafe is part of the music shop, HMV. When it first opened, it sold a lot of CDs and seating were all on tiny stools and tables. They have since had a renovation where there are nice comfortable couches and tables. The CDs are also gone. Though there are other HMV Kafes (both in Central and Elements), only the Happy Valley branch has actual food other than cakes and sandwiches. It was also the original branch in their restaurant concept. They also serve alcohol and you can smoke hookah. No other HMV Kafe does that. Only the Happy Valley branch.The outside of the cafe has the cute HMV mascot to greet you.Weekends and public holidays, they have a brunch menu. I ordered a Spanish omelette ($108) and for an added $20, I had a cafe latte. There is a 10% service charge.Cafe latte had a lovely bit of latte art. Though a bit too much foam, it was velvet and smooth. Coffee was not too strong but not weak. It was pretty ok coffee.Lifted my cup and saw a cute drawing of the HMV dog mascot.Spanish omelette came with a salad with a drizzle of balsamic vinegar dressing. Dressing was not overly tart and not so much it drenched the salad. Salad greens were fresh and crisp.Spanish omelette was packed with filling of red and green peppers, slices of olives, slices of chirozo and lots and lots of chedder cheese. Omelette was soft and fluffy. A pretty decent omelette.Service was good. Food and coffee was surprisingly good. Music playing was the latest top 40 and pretty good. I noted that WiFi signal was strong. A good place to hide away on a lazy day when I don't want to leave my neighbourhood but yet still want to get out of the house with my laptop.

读书的时候 HMV 是我美好的回忆,曾经在那里买过不少心爱的音乐 CD 及杂志,还有无限量试听新 CD,不同的销售榜,都是我喜爱流连这个地方的原因。经过一些波折及易手,HMV 终于都留下来,还扩充至饮食界。HMV Kafe 的诞生,就是一个让听觉与味觉 crossover 的例子。入到室内感觉像一间咖啡室,亦保留了一些 HMV 的摆设,例如小狗、杂志、CD 等。这次我来的是跑马地分店,会供应餐饮,而其他分店则主打轻食例如三文治。先来头盘「Seafood Cake」$78将三文鱼慢煮后切碎,混入蟹肉、薯仔及柠檬皮,煎成海鲜饼,入口不会太硬,是比较松软的质感,我喜爱它用了柠檬皮的香去调出海鲜的鲜味。两小件,一人份,刚刚好。「Linguine Alle Vongole」$148主菜我吃了蚬肉意粉,蚬肉胀卜卜甚有爆汁的感觉,向厨师查询一下,原来他是用了来自纽西兰的钻石蚬 (Sautéed N.Z Diamond Clam),特点是鲜甜多汁,吐出来的海水也不会太咸,尤其现在是当造季节,轻轻配上蒜茸及白酒,我就觉得很不错吃。同行友人主菜吃了煎西班牙黑毛猪扒「Iberico Pork Loin」$228 试吃了一件,因为是全熟的关系,我觉得肉质有一点靱,若果可以煎成八至九成熟,我觉得效果会更理想。甜品我点了士多啤利拿破仑「Strawberry Mille Feuille」$68,松脆的感觉它是有做到,也没有太甜的感觉,对我来说刚刚好。整体环境感觉甚休闲,就算不是来吃饭,来边喝杯咖啡,一边听音乐,也是一个不错的 crossover 享受。
