宽敞有点格调的酒吧餐厅;食物选择比一般酒吧为多。服务勤快, 浅酌不错。但食物质素偏底,不抵食。炸鱼薯条不推介。Spacious, quasi-fine dining gastro pub;Where Dublin Jack used to be;Uninspiring food;Dry fish and chips.Where's Jack?Located at where Delaney's used to be, but the whole place was whitewashed.Dimly lit - from a bright, jovial Irish bar to a quasi fine dining drinking place. We didn't really appreciate it. Spacious though.Gastropub:A lot of standard pub grub, plus a lot of pizza's, pastas and finger food to choose from. Mostly between HK$160-$200.We ordered Fish and Chips ($160), Steak and Guinness Pie, Angus Burger and a pan-fried sole.Fish and Chips:Batter: After making my own fish and chips, I realized how difficult it is to make a crispy batter. I was surprised at how much variety there could be as well. The batter was crunchy enough but not seasoned, i.e. bland. It was just marginally better than the one served at the "Fish Bar". Not comparable to Jimmy's Kitchen or Chippy. Fish: Again, having made my own battered fish, I realized how easy it is to get fresh fish fillet. There is really no excuse not to use a good quality piece of fish fillet. Even if you don't pay attention to the batter at all, simply using a fresh piece of whatever fish, halibut, cod, sole for example. would give you a decent result.I think they used cod (not stated on the menu) for the fish. It's not very warm. The fish was hard and dry. I'm pretty sure they used deep frozen fish fillets. The fish might have been kept frozen for a lengthy period. There was barely any fish taste. Chips: Or wedges. This was one potato cut into 3-4 large chunks. This was not good. Cold. The skin was a bit crunchy but not seasoned. Very dry and bland. Unfortunately one of the worse chips I've had in quite a while Pile of peas: The most striking feature was the large amount of mushy peas served with the fish and chips and the steak and guiness pie. Not bad - unfortunately, this was the best part of the meal.Service: Very good service. All servers were polite and efficient. Conclusion:Unfortunately, none of us were too excited about the food that evening. I won't rule out returning for a pint of Guinness and some finger food.Still, I prefer Dublin Jack. 继续阅读

公司包了半场食年饭,虽然餐厅位于兰桂坊,但不是地铺;加上位处的商厦门面不显眼,结果去了后门入去。餐厅四四正正,一排窗可全部打开,楼下便正正是大街,非常热闹!餐厅内有圆枱,四人枱,长枱,适合一大班人来开party。当晚餐酒任饮,还有橙汁及有気嘅水寒暄一番后,终于有得食!小食有5款,每人只有一件仔有Mini burger 、炸鱿鱼、炸虾、春卷最特别-烧肉-真系估唔到西餐有类似广东的烧肉,味道似系烤出来。但始终都系中式餐馆食好味D小食味道都几惹味主菜5选一,大部分人都点牛扒但可能太多人叫,牛扒细细件,而且叫medium,但个个都变成一样,7成熟。伴碟只有薯条,碟碟份量都唔同。个卖相真系。。。好似去了食快餐 食完都唔系好饱同枱靓仔同事叫了烤鸡,试左小小,西式煮鸡都系好"鞋",又冇鸡味,so dry!伴碟的只有青豆。。。甜品2选1,全枱选了new York cheese cake。哗!咁难食。。。服务:挂住睇我地抽奖,都听唔到我地叫加饮品。如果唔系公司请食饭,都唔易发觉此餐厅。来过一次就算。但饮嘢气氛应该几好。公司年饭始终都系中餐好! 继续阅读

Harrington's 是 castelo concept 旗下的一员, 朋友看到杂志的介绍便捉了我们于星期日一起试试其水准.环境位于大厦的一楼, 不算十分大, 但有供至少5-6人坐的大台, 也有梳化坐位, 感觉cosy, 很舒服, 第一印象很好。餐厅内当然以外国客人为多, 也有很多外国人一家大细的来brunch, 餐厅很贴心的为小朋友提供汽球, 现场气氛好和谐呢。我和朋友们一早已经订了座, 不过于11时半到达时发现餐厅其实只坐满了一半都不够, 大家于这段时间应该可以随意walk-in。食物Sunday Roast Menu由早上11:30至下午4时供应, 有头盘及甜品, 主菜是只能取一次的roast meat1) 头盘可以从汤, prawn cocktail, crab cakes, salad 或 creamy leek tartlet 中选择, 我们选了 crab cakes 及 saladcrab cakes卖相漂亮, 小布包著的是柠檬, 很可爱, crab cakes 上菜时还热呼呼, 虽然说实在蟹肉不多, 但新鲜煎好, 再加上那creamy的酱以及柠檬少许的酸咪咪, 很好吃很是开胃!House Saladhouse salad份量不少, 用了少许vinegar及olive oil作dressing, 不腻也不酸。沙律内有豆, 蕃茄, 青瓜, 西兰花, 红菜头等等, 全也新鲜好吃, 特别是那红菜头, 没有多加调味, 每口也是红菜头天然的味道, 真的是美味呀。Grapefruit juice味道一般, 餐没想包, 要另外点。2) 主菜Carved Roast Meat Selection - 主菜是自助形式到出面取想吃的肉及配菜, 每人只能取一次。roast肉的选择有猪, 牛, 鸡及肠, 配菜有杂菜, yorkshire puddings, pigs in blankets, 椰菜花芝士蓉, 薯蓉, 红菜头, brussel sprouts, macaroni cheese 等等, 好不丰富! 肉方面, 有店员亲自切, 我和朋友每款也取了点, 怕胖所以没有要求店员分很大份的肉, 我可是见到旁边的男士拿了半只的春鸡及厚厚的牛肉! 配合肉类的mustard及sauce也有数款选择, 一定有适合你的一种。至于味道方面, 对roast猪肉本身没大期望, 是对的, 没有味道, 但不"un"。牛肉很好吃呀, 没有全熟亦有牛味, 可恨不能添食! 春鸡一大只肉很多, 但也是味淡, 幸而有多种的sauce配合, 所以也吃得津津有味。整餐的亮点一定是配菜呀! 每款, 是每款都很好吃, 微微烧焦的macaroni cheese有浓烈的芝士味, 炒过的brussel sprous惹味非常, 椰菜花芝士蓉绵绵的入口即溶... 总至, 大家一定要在碟上为各种配菜留下空位, 别让roast meat 专美!3) 甜品甜品可选朱古力新地, apple crumble或士多啤梨及cream, 我们点了apple crumble。apple crumble上的雪糕溶于crumble上, 很好吃, 这apple crumble是真材实料, 有很多的苹果呢!服务所有店员都是外国人, 非常友善及和蔼可亲, 经理会主动问我们的意见, 给人认真的感觉。 继续阅读

I was quite looking forward to Harringtons food stall this year because they had the sausage rolls at the LFK Beer festival which I did not try that time because I had already just had lunch at Harringtons!!!This time they had a stall again at the LFK carnival and on the first day they had fish and chips and meat pies.On the second day they had casserole I think.★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★Fish and chips:The fish displayed in the cabinet was fish in batter but the one served was smaller pieces of fish in breadcrumbs.Anyway it was good I could sample their fish and chips without needing to order the full portion at Harringtons because there are some irresistably good set lunches.It was good there was Heinz ketchup and salt but there was no vinegar.The chips were not that crispy because they had been fried for some time.★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★Meat pies:The meat pie was quite nice because it had lean minced beef in rich gravy inside.★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★ 继续阅读

一年一度的兰桂坊嘉年华又举行! 今年定于11月17日 (星期六) 及18日 (星期日) ,上年我独自走来,今年我相约 Supersupergirl 一起去凑热闹!我们虽然不饮酒,但是喜欢小食! 兰桂坊嘉年华有不少小食摊档! 我们先走一圈,然后看看有什么适合大家口味的小食! 我们一起扫街!经过 Openrice 摊档附近的 <Harrington's> 摊档,我见到 meat pie 好吸引!而她想食 Fish & Chips! 太好了!在这里有位热情招呼我们的外籍负责人, 一看他的样子竟然跟 George Clooney 有几分相似!我们买了这些小食一起 share! Fish & Chips 炸鱼柳 & 薯条 $45始终外国人会喜欢这类小食! 之前,她帮衬 <Harrington's> 堂食时,份量较大!相对价钱亦会较贵!堂食的炸鱼是薄薄的炸浆,炸至金黄!这里则用上吉列方式去炸! 可能已炸了好一阵子,食起来并非预期的松脆!只略带微脆! 鱼肉尚算滑!不忘点上沙律酱来增添滋味! 至于薯条是粗切那种!口感会更好! 伴上茄汁依然是最佳配搭!Meat pie 肉馅饼 $25/ 2 个我先尝试一下!轻微的牛油味,挞身温暖而且微甜,松化程度麻麻地!内里的肉碎馅很多,肉汁丰盈又惹味热烫! 挞底都几薄!果然没有令我失望! 是不错的小食! 继续阅读
