今日叫左个晚市套餐($65)~包一碗芝士菠菜(Saab Paneer),一碗白饭,印度薄饼(naan),少少沙律同一罐饮品~个Saab Paneer好好食,菠菜蓉有浓香芝士味,里面亦有唔少cottage cheese粒,naan够薄同香脆,白饭系印度长饭,但系其实可有可无,不过唔食会唔够饱,非常钟意沙律有洋葱~以小店简陋嘅环境嚟讲绝对唔平,但系年轻店主非常友善,而已食物系有诚意嘅~下次嚟会试杂菜卷,咖喱扁豆同咖喱角(Samosa)~

Was browsing at the new restaurants listed on OpenRice and this name just caught my attention.The name Chutney Mary just sounded so British for some reason so I made up my mind to go and try it.I googled Chutney Mary and indeed there were lots of branches in UK, Australia, Singapore and the US.However I was not sure if this branch is related to the other ones.Anyway got there and it was quite a small joint.Ordered chicken tikka and lamb kebabFor both dishes the portion of rice was huge and unfinishable!++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++Chicken tikka with curry sauce and riceThe chicken was tender and the curry sauce that came with it was very spicy.++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++Lamb seekb kebab with curry sauce and riceThe lamb was nicer than the chicken, the texture was strange like pate and velvety.++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++I wished I had looked at the other menu because there was more choice such as fish and vegetarian curries such as sag aloo and palak paneer.

一条不出一分钟便能从头走到尾的宏安道,两边聚集了不少餐厅,港式茶记、西餐、越南菜,现在又多了这家印度咖喱快餐店,可谓种类丰富,选择不少。 Chutney Mary的店面很窄小,主打咖喱快餐,座位只是两排bar位,硬塞估计也只能坐下8人,还需都是身形纤瘦者。说明了是快餐店,应该是希望你外卖打包吧,但又有酒类供应,一时让人有些迷惑了。主厨是一位印籍中年人,有点腼腆,英文不是非常好,点单由另一位印度年轻人负责。 说回咖喱,是日试了两款:咖喱鸡和咖喱羊。无论鸡或者羊,每样虽只得3件,但都是大块啖啖肉,闷至酥软,非常入味。羊肉不膻,很软焾;鸡肉都几嫩。 最值得一提的是咖喱汁的香料。鸡和羊的咖喱汁有少少不同,但师出同门,属于同一派系,最大的特点是浓郁而温和,且层次丰富。两款咖喱汁都很浓稠,里面的香料很丰富,吃起来味道又香又浓,但并不刺激,也不辛辣,反而很温和,但具体有哪些香料就不得而知了,看墙上这张介绍香料的poster,非资深专家级怕是吃不出来的。可以尝到新鲜的番茄蓉,使咖喱汁的味道多了一分清新。至于辣, 我指明要辣一点,所以多少都有点辣,但又不是非常辣。烤饼:新鲜出炉热辣辣,饼身较薄,口感松软,配咖喱再好不过。味道虽算不上出众,但已足够。追加了一杯Sweet Lassi,酸奶和水混合入搅拌机打匀,酸酸甜甜口感不差,但水冲淡了酸奶的原味,味不够浓,淡了些。 小小的一闲印度快餐店,印籍主厨的手艺还真是不赖!没去过印度,很难说咖喱是不是正宗,但咖喱汁的味道确实让人印象深刻,值得一试。
