had enough of Cova for my pre-birthday celebration so I let my dear sister choose where to get my cake, and what kind. i only requested for something with berries and she got me a blueberry cheesecake from C'est Mieux.it's not as big as i hoped for a 2lb cake, but it is for my own consumption, not for sharing. so I won't be such a glutton. The layer of cheese, which was the top layer, is very airy, spongy yet moist. quite sweet and fluffy. a bit mousse-like but with a heavier cheese flavor. then

then came a berry-incorporated mousse/cheese layer - the texture is almost like the cheese layer but it's a very pretty shade of purple, and it does have a strong blueberry flavor in its bite. i love how these two layers melt in my mouth almost instantaneously.
the crust is a bit cookie-like in terms of taste but more moist than i expected; not the usual graham cracker crust - not chewy nor grainy, doesn't have a gritty bite to it. the flavor is surprisingly buttery rich and satisfying.
I've had pastries and small cakes from C'est Mieux before - the tiramisu and the Opera cake are the two that i particularly enjoyed, but that was a while ago. given this good experience I will get something else here soon. Interested in the souffle cheesecake and chocolate cream cake...mmm!
