在銅鑼灣個性小店cafe愈來愈少,很多做不住,頂手給人。在銅鑼灣真是不多選擇。今日突想品嚐一些有特色的蛋糕~ 黑麥向來售賣自家包類,又有蛋糕~蛋糕都展示在雪櫃中,只要問店員不同口味有什麼特色,店員都會詳細介紹。女店員的說話方式比較豪爽,不太嬌艷,做事都十分快速。少有看到的女強人店員類~不過感覺都ok~chocolate moouse cake 中間是紙包蛋糕味道,很大雞蛋味道。chocolate moouse 很重牛奶味道,淡chocolate味,十分sweet。chocolate moouse 不軟,十分硬,脆身的chocolate !兩者配合,不過不失,最大優點是很大件。以$38來說有這大件是合理的。

chocolate moouse cake 中間是紙包蛋糕味道,很大雞蛋味道。chocolate moouse 很重牛奶味道,淡chocolate味,十分sweet。chocolate moouse 不軟,十分硬,脆身的chocolate !兩者配合,不過不失,最大優點是很大件。以$38來說有這大件是合理的。

不定期的每幾個月, 便會跟姊妹團來一個小聚了,每每相聚總聊上好幾個小時, 也真夠盡興。所以在選地方時, 也要挑到一些坐得舒適, 價錢相宜的地方。這次選的是位於銅鑼灣的黑麥。剛進大門, 便見那豐富的麵包櫃, 在左旁的是一個小小的蛋糕櫃 。埸內的格局是挺有cafe的感覺, 其實真要有心理準備這兒的服務是不過不失的水準而已。Pumpernickel: 從眾多麵包中選了店員所指的招牌,正是押上了店名的麵包, 有分大小的, 沒記錯的話, 小的是$35; 大的則是$45, 還是點一個小的便好。麵包切成一片片的, 整齊的放在麵包籃內, 溫溫的, 難得最外皮竟是薄脆型, 麵包濕潤, 唯據稱麵包內有一點點茴香的味道, 但是不難為接受的, 想減輕這分味道的話, 則可塗一點牛油。雞肉醬幼麵: 就像是肉醬意粉, 意粉的質感相當對辦, 論味道也是相當不錯的。意大利火腿綠意瓜意大利飯: 這是三者中我最喜歡的, 就是很creamy。意大利飯的米芯不過硬,稍嫌其仔配料的味道跟質感不算是太突出, 但也可以吃吃看。田螺煙肉白酒牛油汁意粉: 相對之下, 這個是有點失望的, 整體味道偏淡身, 而且田螺的質感偏軟身, 還是田螺

Pumpernickel: 從眾多麵包中選了店員所指的招牌,正是押上了店名的麵包, 有分大小的, 沒記錯的話, 小的是$35; 大的則是$45, 還是點一個小的便好。麵包切成一片片的, 整齊的放在麵包籃內, 溫溫的, 難得最外皮竟是薄脆型, 麵包濕潤, 唯據稱麵包內有一點點茴香的味道, 但是不難為接受的, 想減輕這分味道的話, 則可塗一點牛油。

意大利火腿綠意瓜意大利飯: 這是三者中我最喜歡的, 就是很creamy。意大利飯的米芯不過硬,稍嫌其仔配料的味道跟質感不算是太突出, 但也可以吃吃看。

主菜分量是比想像中少一點, 但也不失為假日與姊妹團聚會的好地方。值得一提的是星期六下午是沒有下午茶餐牌的, 吃的是a la carte餐牌, 也不設訂位, 切餅費則是每位$10。

It's my first time to dine in this restaurant. A few points for future improvements, hope the restaurant manager will read, or the operator will take a look and think about it.

A. Basics

1. Menu - set dinner menu not shown inside the restaurant. Only one menu (which is very small) to show set dinner outside the restaurant. Staff showed reluctancy to repeat the dishes of Today's Special. Explanation of "to add HK$ 10 for a side pasta" was completely wrong.

2. Table Setting - two spoons (one for soup and one for rice) + a folk. Where is the knife? There's steak menu in the restaurant.  Understood that staff should put the right culteries on table, but they are placed wrongly. See Point 3 below.

3. Staff needed training / operations of the restaurnat should be reviewed. Below are the questions that I asked tonight, you will find it surprising long, I will write the reasons and observations next to my questions.

Q1 - pls provide pepper. (After serving the mushroom soup, no one asked you if you need pepper)
Q2 - pls provide salt. (Well, there is no salt and pepper placed on the table)
Q3 - pls add some water (I asked this question over 10 times tonight. The volume of the glass is around 40 ml, so one can imagine why I need to ask so many times, and no staff is attentive)
Q4 - pls provide mastard and ketcup (we ordered steak, with French fries. again, no one asked if ketcup or mastard is needed. Well, if you go to Fast Food Macxxxxd's, they will immediately give you one without asking! same as any other fast food shop. In this restaurant, YOU HAVE TO ASK EVERYTHING)
Q5 - may I have olive oil and vinegar (if you have to ask for salt and pepper, obviously you need to further ask this question)
Q6 - may I have a knife (it seems that the staff do not realise how one can eat with a folk only and without a knife!)
Q7 - pls add some cream (we order two cups of coffee, and only one small cup of cream is served)
Q8 - May I have chili flakes
Q9 - What is the set dinner for tonight? (No one introduced this !!!)
Q10 - Please clarify if I add HK$ 10 for the pasta on the side? (because another staff told me a separate "bowl" of pasta would be provided)

It is obvious that the restaurant owner, or manager, have to rethink how to train your staff to provide BASIC western style service in this non-Chinese food restaurant. In view of the price of the food, I would expect some service better than "fish ball noodle restaurants". However, even for local fish ball noodle restaurants, I can find 1) chopsticks and spoons (vs. here I can find only spoon, folk but without a knife!) 2) chili sauce and soy sauce (vs. here no single salt and pepper are served on table, you have to ASK) 3) local staff, cashier, etc are easily seen and proactively attend to you (vs. here, you have to wait for them to finish their "chatting" or "gathering" and ask them to give you the items listed on the 10 questions above, ONE AT A TIME).

The main problem is, these staff simply had not dined in a formal western style restaurant, where the staff would 1) sort out the correct culteries, 2) proactively give you water, even tap water, 3) salt and pepper on table, and staff serve necessary sauces with the dishes, 4) no "staff gathering" be seen by customer, not to mention that there are less than 10 tables in this restaurant but there are 3 floor staff, that's why they can start of a chatting group and do their own discussions without attending at the customers.

B. Food

1. Desserts are disasters - none of them tasted right (I did not expect "good" after seeing the service of this restaurant)
2. My friend left over whole plate of dessert and whole cup of coffee. No one ever questioned if there is any problem on the food.

C. Payment

When returning my reciept to me, the "floor manger / supervisor" nearly forget to return my credit card to me. That's obviously unacceptable.

Final remarks
I did not expect something out of my expectations in restaurants of similar style. But in view of its location, the price, food quality and so on, I think if the manger / owner can consider my observations and experiences that I had tonight, and re-train your staff, at least to deliver something similar to those "local restaurants" - I am not saying to compare yours with the high quality western style restaurants.

To be honest, I am very disappointed about the level of service tonight because I tried your Tin Hau restaurant before and the standard is NOT the same as this one, none at all.

此店麵包頗有名氣, 特意前來亨受輕鬆的週末.要了一碟蜜糖果仁麵包, 熱熱地, 脆口的麵包加上大大粒的果仁, 好有口感, 面上淋了蜜糖, 不會太甜, 好味!還要了一杯Mocha, 外觀不錯, 但嚐了一口, 感覺太甜, 因那朱古叻粉相信不是佳品, 配合了咖啡变得浪费了咖啡的甘香.

黎到係兩點,大家都好肚餓喇叫左LUNCH SET先上既蘑菇湯,色澤好靚既淡啡色加左黑胡椒更覺香濃CREAMY餓既時候食暖笠笠既麵包好滿足點埋湯一路食更滋味試左友人既意粉都唔錯,起碼唔會過軟同唔夠熱我就叫左牛柳賣相唔錯,下面係烤既青瓜片,茄子同薯角可能因為5成熟既關係。一切就有好多既血水整體黎講肉質淋左D唔夠咬口冇咩牛肉既香濃味草莓慕絲蛋糕唔錯,雖然係冇草莓味但好在唔會鬆散,又唔過甜清新~同場加映窗外有兔仔散步!

剛坐低睇緊叫咩,朋友有點累伏喺檯閉目養神,待應隨即過來叫我叫朋友唔好訓覺,話餐廳唔可以訓覺。首先朋友只係休息,唔係訓。第二,我睇唔到有清楚講明呢度唔俾訓或伏低休息。第三,朋友伏低左一分鐘都無待應就走過來咁講。第一次來,遭到如此對待,好無奈。野食飲品幾好都補唔番。

之前一直去開藝術中心分店,都好滿意服務及食物水準。可惜,今天去銅鑼灣分店一試,發現服務及食物都難以接受!一進店舖,女店員問幾多位,我答兩位,只聽見她說「就這裡吧」。坐下後,才發現沒冷氣,其實很少事,轉過位置便行,可惜女店員再加一句「一早同你講咗啦」,心想,是什麼態度?然後,我同老公點了兩份vegetarian breakfast, 一份太陽蛋,另一份炒蛋。可是,太陽蛋的一份,上枱時蛋心已經爛開了,連同牒的麵包都沾滿蛋汁。我找另一個女店員問,她首先說「我送另一隻蛋給你」,但老實說,一個早上怎可能吃3隻蛋? 我說不行,她才說換過另一牒,只可惜,所謂的另一牒,其實只是換過2隻太陽蛋,沾滿蛋汁的濕麵包仍在牒上。就算不計爛開了的太陽蛋和沾滿蛋汁的濕麵包,同牒的炒磨菇亦太多油。一份73蚊的早餐 (未計加一),居然質素咁差,真係好難想像!!惠顧Pumpernickel 的人,太概是因為它以健康食物作招徠,我一向也是藝術中心分店的常客。今次之後,一定不會再去銅鑼灣分店!! 原本好好的招牌,卻被沒心經營的夥計拖垮,值得嗎?

之前一直去開藝術中心分店,都好滿意服務及食物水準。
可惜,今天去銅鑼灣分店一試,發現服務及食物都難以接受!

一進店舖,女店員問幾多位,我答兩位,只聽見她說「就這裡吧」。
坐下後,才發現沒冷氣,其實很少事,轉過位置便行,可惜女店員再加一句「一早同你講咗啦」,心想,是什麼態度?

然後,我同老公點了兩份vegetarian breakfast, 一份太陽蛋,另一份炒蛋。
可是,太陽蛋的一份,上枱時蛋心已經爛開了,連同牒的麵包都沾滿蛋汁。

我找另一個女店員問,她首先說「我送另一隻蛋給你」,但老實說,一個早上怎可能吃3隻蛋?
我說不行,她才說換過另一牒,只可惜,所謂的另一牒,其實只是換過2隻太陽蛋,沾滿蛋汁的濕麵包仍在牒上。

就算不計爛開了的太陽蛋和沾滿蛋汁的濕麵包,同牒的炒磨菇亦太多油。
一份73蚊的早餐 (未計加一),居然質素咁差,真係好難想像!!

惠顧Pumpernickel 的人,太概是因為它以健康食物作招徠,我一向也是藝術中心分店的常客。
今次之後,一定不會再去銅鑼灣分店!!

原本好好的招牌,卻被沒心經營的夥計拖垮,值得嗎?

Finally getting good bread in Hong Kong. Went for lunch because we tried the bread before, and just wanted to know if they can make regular food. The lunch special was very reasonable, but the choices were similar to other outfits: ANZ steak and three pasta choices, soup, coffee/tea and dessert. The prices are about 20% below other restaurants such as the El Cid / King Parrot Group restaurants, so it is good value. But the seating is more casual and tighter.We ordered the linguine with Parma

Finally getting good bread in Hong Kong. Went for lunch because we tried the bread before, and just wanted to know if they can make regular food. We ordered the linguine with Parma ham, peas in truffled olive oil, which was delicious and fashionably al dente, I will rate it a B+, compared to the Admiralty hotel Italian restaurants at A. The portion was about 2/3, suitable for lunch for the ladies, or a second course. We also tried a sandwich, but it came in Hong Kong style, i.e., bread flavored with whatever instead of the US style where the bread is just something to keep your fingers clean while you eat the meat. The soup was so so, typical Hong Kong pumpkin soup......watery and no character.

But we really came for the bread and we weren't disappointed. The epiphomous pumpernickel was spicy, flavorful of the yeast and rye, the crust was chewy as in old Eastern Europe. The whites were a bid soft, but the walnuts and hazelnuts stood out and make you notice their distinct flavours and textures. Again, the all important crust tells you that it is part of the bread not to be cut off and thrown away like feathers on a chicken.


The chocolate mouse/cake was good for the price, but it is so typically Hong Kong. But at least is not the cliche Tiramisu.

The service was efficient and polite, but the waitress seemed to be in a hurry as the plates were tossed with a bang on the tables and she just turned away without looking at us. We felt like filing bins instead of diners. Hope the manager take note of this.


Overall, it was a good lunch and we will definitely go back to try other dishes and buy bread there.

我覺得個set lunch 好好味,包同湯都唔錯,d 麵包上枱時有些少熱,牛油半溶,但個rib eye 唔夠熱,另缺點係隻碟居然係凍嘅
有少少失望

The Classical 入面嘅toast 又係超好味,salad 個sauce 唔會太酸,惟一唔好就係佢個炒蛋好乾...

整體嚟講呢度d 嘢水準算唔錯,價錢都可能會略高,因為如果淨買佢d 麵包就會覺得好貴...

青豆蟹肉意大利飯: 份量非常豐富的Risotto, 望落已經叫人都有點濟
材料固然有蟹肉,青豆粒,同時亦加進入不小菌類, 口感豐富但蟹肉夾雜著一點點
蟹殼, 而Risotto零咬口也湖口得很, 連基本的咸味也沒有, 莫說有鮮味了, 整個組合也叫人失望。

餐茶 (熱檸茶): 正常夠熱, 檸無苦澀

總結: 以環境而論, 優閒舒適程度是得分位, 而食物只是中規中距, 番兜機會不大。

今晚做完gym,同老公搵d light meal 食,我是一個麵包人見 CWB有 pumpernickel 便推門入去睇吓有冇位,點知個waitresss 一見就話「我地收十點wor。」Har! 當時係8:05pm!! ?! 到點哂食物(過程如審犯),佢攞d包來,我問可否兩片都選麥包,佢竟然話,「你下次可以早d講」!我真想話,「你下次可以早d問囉!我第一次嚟,鬼知呀!」The bread was unexpectedly unfresh (dry and crumbly), I would expected the bread to be fresh and soft given that Pumpernickel specializes in bread and pastry. I ordered Angus Beef Baguette Sandwich, and my husband ordered the Seafood Pasta set, both tasted very good. Even the mushroom soup was exceptionally tasty. The Angus Beef Baguette Sandwich was freshly made. The Sandwich came with a small salad, in a refreshing Italian dressing. The portion of the sandwich was very generous, given that the it costed $69 only (promotional price). I gave half of my sandwich to my husband, and tried a few mouthfuls of his pasta. The quality of the pasta sauce was better than some high-end Italian restaurants we've been to, although the pasta itself is a bit too soft (not Al Dente).

Except for the bread that came with the soup, 成餐d食物好味嘅,exceptionally good value for the money, especially in the CWB area, where the rental costs are high. 但service 超級差, 雇用這種staff, 真係倒米! 成餐背脊骨落。食得咁受氣,真係冇下次囉!

聽聞黑麥的麵包很出色,那天在銅鑼灣晚飯過後特地去買麵包做第二天的早餐。選了兩個小的multi-grain multi-seeds bread,因為我喜歡seeds的香味,還有嚼到那些seeds的感覺。因為不是剛出爐的,感受不到溫度和香味,外裱上看上去不錯,每個大約80-90g,$6.5/個,價格也適中,不算太貴。第二天早餐把麵包切開烘了一下,seeds的香味散髮出來,內部鬆軟,外部香脆,我喜歡加入香蕉一起吃,一來味道更豐富,二來都不用再加jam,更健康。雖然沒設麼驚喜,但也沒什麽不妥,有機會再試其他麵包,特別是招牌的黑麥麵包。

第二天早餐把麵包切開烘了一下,seeds的香味散髮出來,內部鬆軟,外部香脆,我喜歡加入香蕉一起吃,一來味道更豐富,二來都不用再加jam,更健康。

雖然沒設麼驚喜,但也沒什麽不妥,有機會再試其他麵包,特別是招牌的黑麥麵包。

環境:寬敝舒適,藤椅配合落地玻璃,很有悠閒渡假feel!﹝門口位置的冷氣風大,十分凍,好彩服務員願意把它校細一點。﹞食物:聽說麵包是自家製的,都幾鬆軟,如果熱D會更好。磨姑湯味道較淡,濃D杰D會更好。意粉的水準不錯。服務:服務員集中在櫃台,不會打擾客人。但他們有時看不到客人,叫他們時則要走向櫃台。價錢:午巿套餐約90元一位,其實不太值,相信已包埋銅鑼灣名店街昂貴的舖租。

原本想到灣仔的食店,但因為看電視的關係還是在openrice上search 銅鑼灣找了一間坐得舒服的cafe共進晚膳看了食評而且環境不差就確定了黑麥我們各自選擇了套餐主菜 + bread + soup + tea/coffeeHot Mocha x2杯子很美. 本人愛朱古力較濃但明顯這裡的mocha 咖啡重得很 甘筍湯甘筍味濃. 十分推介比蘑菇湯好飲. 而且不會太甜蘑菇湯我只是小試一口. 我覺得有點啖口而且賣相好難看餐包每人有黑麥同白麥包各一件有牛油及類似肉醬的東東那些肉醬值得一試主角餐包也不過不失如果是熱的會更好. 因為放到我面前都是凍的雜菌南瓜意大利飯我忘記了餐牌上的名字了一值想試試意大利飯不知道是否口味上不同.太濃味了. 而且很漏煙肉意大利麵都忘記了名字.很油 煙也很鹹是友人給這個意大利麵的評語大概是地點的問題我們都覺得不值這個價錢

又來到星期六,放工後去銅鑼灣黑麥Pumpernickel黑麥位於名店坊附近,這一帶原來有很多食店經過Flame - Towngas Avenue的lunch seimi buffet,自助頭盤,甜品加主菜都是由最平$88起,好想食呀!鎖定目標,下次來吃啦!來到黑麥,一進入店內,陣陣麵包香味,令人食指大動坐在站內的一個角落,靜靜的享用午餐,多寫意呢是日lunch set,有牛,飯,意粉可以選擇不過男朋友想吃egg benedict,就來一客煙三文魚egg benedict這裡的egg benedict不是用muffin來作底,而是用提子包提子包味道幾好,不過我們都覺得egg benedict跟muffin會更加好食蛋半生熟,剛剛好,一切開蛋漿流出,加上醬汁一起吃,都幾好味不過男朋友吃完一份egg benedict也不算太飽而我就吃了一個朱古力軟心布丁,因為突然間好想食心太軟心太軟一來到,朱古力漿已經流了出來,不算太熱而且吃下去一點也不滑,我更懷疑到底焗得夠不夠時間感覺吃下去好似有點熟不透,這裡的心太軟還是一般最後結帳$140左右,如果要吃benedict或心太軟,都不會選擇這裡了但也可以

而我就吃了一個朱古力軟心布丁,因為突然間好想食心太軟
心太軟一來到,朱古力漿已經流了出來,不算太熱
而且吃下去一點也不滑,我更懷疑到底焗得夠不夠時間
感覺吃下去好似有點熟不透,這裡的心太軟還是一般

最後結帳$140左右,如果要吃benedict或心太軟,都不會選擇這裡了
但也可以一試這裡的麵包!
