After i have woke up , it was already nearing lunch time. I need this long rest after a long week of stressful work. Since we were lazy to cook noodle, i decided to go down to buy some food back home. 盛記粥麵 was located at Parkes Street, couple of minutes walk from Jordan MTR.Being a traditional HK shop, it served congee, noodle and rice. Being a traditional HK shop, it served congee, noodle and rice. For every congee, rice or noodle ordered, we can top up a little for their appetizers and drinks.
Hot and cold barley water - The staff was generous with the portion of barley, with alot of barley in it. Barley was boiled till soft and chewy, and was sweet in taste. Iced milk tea and coffee was milky and smooth, with strong tea taste.
Chicken and black mushroom congee - This was one of their signature dishes and the portion was huge. Congee was boiled till soft and smooth and was served hot. Chicken was smooth and mushroom was fresh and chewy.
Hand made fried pork chop with lemongrass in rice noodles - The soup was placed separately in another container, to prevent the noodle from becoming soggy. Rice noodles was smooth and fried pork chop was fried till juicy and chewy, crispy as well.
Signature wonton soup noodle - Noodle was cooked till chewy, with no after taste. Wanton filling was fresh and chewy, with real prawn filling in it.
Radish with beef brisket sauce - Radish was cooked till very soft , and was flavourful as it absorbed the essence of the beef brisket sauce.
Deep fried dace fish ball - It was fried till chewy, and the sauce helped to complement the taste.
Steamed rice rolls with pig liver - Rice rolls was steamed till soft and smooth, and thin in texture. Soy sauce was provided to spread on to it, and pig liver was fresh and chewy.
