Known for its delicious rustic thai food, Samsen has opened their second branch in Sheung Wan, inheriting the street style design with a much larger capacity. What stays the same is the long endless queue at its storefront 😅Green papaya salad | $98Super crunchy green papaya and lots of peanuts. Refreshing yet quite punchy and heavy on spice. Definitely overpriced though.‘Khao Soi’ Curried chicken with egg noodles | $148They do not serve boat noodles at this branch but their signature curried egg noodles is equally good. It’s a mild curry broth with strong sweet coconut undertone. Love the texture of the egg noodles that is very springy. The chicken is so soft and tender that can easily fall off the bones.Stir fried chicken and flat noodles | $128The flat noodles are not as springy as I would’ve liked. But the fact that noodles are not sticking indicates great wok fry cookery. The dish does remind me of the HK style fried noodles (干炒河). But it lacks a bit of flavor on its own, the accompanying sweet and spicy red sauce is much needed which lifted the flavor of the entire dish.Mango Sticky rice | $78Young coconut ice cream | $68Thai red tea ice cream | $68Desserts at Samsen is absolutely unbeatable. Their ice cream remains my favorite, super coconuty with some sweet coconut flesh and generous peanuts to add crunch. It’s the perfect summer sweet delight. The Thai tea version has a rich red tea aroma and the sweetness is surprisingly balanced. 📍 Samsen 泰馆📍 上环 • 苏杭街23号《Samsen》一直居於香港泰国餐厅的榜首,在湾仔开店至今一直人气高企。最近他们的另一家店就落脚於上环苏杭街。《泰馆》/《泰面》?除了店舖面积大了很多以外,上环和湾仔店的中文名字也不同喔:湾仔的店名是《泰面》,而上环的店名是《泰馆》。不难发现,其实上环店并不是《泰面》的分店,而是姐妹店!所以,为了招牌船面而来上环店的朋友可能会失望了,因为这家店并没有供应船面喔!招牌菜--「泰北咖哩金面」泰北咖哩金面 (鸡) ($146)“Khao Soi” of curried chicken with fresh egg noodles没有了招牌的泰式船面,却加入了另一项招牌菜--「泰北咖哩金面」。咖哩味香浓,甜甜的,辣味又很重,十分惹味🍜鲜制泰式飞饼 ($38)Fresh made roti 我想店员应该会给所有客人推荐这个吧,因为他们说这个飞饼跟咖哩很配。份量不少,有厚厚的两块。吃下去脆脆的,略嫌油分较重。好挂汁,沾咖哩吃一流!一定要趁热吃喔!其他菜式泰式虎虾炒金边粉 ($138)Pad Thai of tiger prawns上环店和湾仔店都有供应金边粉,水准依旧。虎虾份量很多,size很大,虾肉结实🍤泰式奶茶 Thai tea ($?)最爱的泰式饮料~~服务/环境店面很大,所以店员都忙得不胜负荷,可能要举手一会儿才有人过来协助。有一名店员特别突出,非常充满活力,好可爱喔XD有一座客人在庆祝生日,全场的店员一个一个的走出来跟他们唱歌耶!!超开心的画面环境满宽敞的,只是音乐有点大声,所以说话要更大声,同桌才听得到,所以整家餐厅就是很吵。吃辣又大哄,幸好第二天没有喉咙痛XD 继续阅读

由澳洲名厨 Adam Cliff开既Samsen系湾仔已经开左几年,但无阻大家对佢既热情,依旧坐无虚席🔥而近排,更开设上环姐妹店,主打泰北咖哩金面,但就无左湾仔既招牌船面啦!Samsen系一个泰国同华人做贸易生意既地方。而呢间餐厅主要系做泰国既street food!店舖装修得好靓,行vintage style 🙆🏻‍♀️再加上店内摆放唔同怀旧poster,打卡一流☺️👌🏻开放式厨房,营造到好似去左泰国咁😋staff主要系外国人为主,一入到佢地就好nice 咁同你打招呼,重介绍餐厅招牌菜色,做到宾至如归既感觉❤️🤩当日同朋友坐左近open kitchen既bar枱位,同啲厨师倾下计都几正架🌝而食完既时候都会问下啲野岩唔岩食😋好值得赞📌泰北咖喱鸡金面 $148呢间既咖喱汁好特别,用左十几种材料和鲜椰浆熬制而成,睇得出餐厅落足心思去写个汤底,味道甜甜地,浓郁得黎又唔会呛鼻。至於金面系由泰北直送,所以味道绝对地道❤️呢碗面有2只大鸡髀渗透左落汤到,吸尽精华。配菜方面,有芥菜,青葱同青柠,令到口感提升。📌 青木瓜沙律 $98酸酸辣辣咁,清新得黎都几开胃!味道就见人见智啦,我就觉得可以接受但未到好好食。因为本身麻麻地green papaya但朋友就食到停唔到手,差啲抢埋只碟唔比我掂😐📌泰式街头椰子雪糕 $68味道绝对正宗😍雪糕用大大个椰子装住🥥,玩味十足!雪糕有啲似甄沾记,好smooth同creamy 而且唔会死甜!再用粟米,花生同shaved young coconut 做topping 真系好正😍用呢个甜品做结尾真系好perfect!建议2个人share一杯,因为真系好大份😂📌香蕉煎饼 $78绝对有惊喜😍每次去泰国都要一日食返个,因为香港真系无咩地方食得返个只味🤥samsen既煎饼可以话超越左泰国街食到既质素(i.e jj market )😍😍香蕉绝对用料十足,够晒大粒🍌而且煎到皮薄馅靓,呈现金黄色,配埋炼奶,真系开心过跳开心舞❤️最搞笑系,个度既厨师好似玩才艺表演咁,搓完个皮掟到劲远比另一个煎,重要百发百中!📌Samsen mojito $88呢杯系餐厅既signature cocktail,味道有啲奇怪,所以唔洗试啦😣😣虽然个卖相ok但饮落去好唔match。Mint 既味道抢晒,mojito加左西瓜🍉搞到好稀,而酒味都好淡🥺😩🧡总括而言,呢间餐厅好值得一试,虽然泰国street food 呢个价钱真系略贵。但食物质素,服务同环境都值回票价啦🥰每次去都要等最少1hr先有得入座,如果无咩耐性既话建议到对面cafe hea下,或者系人流比较少既时候食啦🥰staff会细心咁系你可以入座之前既10min send message 同你讲! 继续阅读

Huge fan of Thai food, so when I heard about Samsen’s new branch in Sheung Wan, I had to go! Despite the long line, our party of 2 got in quite easily. The eatery has a hip and modern vibe with traces of traditional patterns. The food was naturally amazing. The use of nuts, fruits and herbs made each bite an explosion of flavors. I loved the stir fried wagyu beef with flat noodles as the noods were bouncy to eat and the beef had a rich beef taste. The betel leaf wraps were so interesting to eat too, nothing like I tried before. The unique taste of the leaf adds a stimulating flavor to it. The omelette was also a spectacle to see and eatThe desserts were yummy too though not as unique as the mains. We got a traditional mango with sticky rice, which was mildly sweet and very yummy with the sweet and sourness of the mango mixing with the milky sticky rice. We also got a Thai milk tea ice cream with coconut. The toasted peanuts and coconut flakes added a nice roasted taste to the ice cream! 继续阅读

某日weekday lunch, 一点左右嚟到,排20分钟左右就入得,但要搭枱,坐得唔算舒服,但冇湾仔samsen咁迫!呢度嘅menu同湾仔好唔同,冇船面食,咁又唔想食咖哩面,所以今次试泰式打抛和牛配油炸鸡蛋饭炸蛋好好味,脆边,蛋汁又好好捞饭和牛粒切到有d碎,唔系太食得出系和牛,但份量颇多,够晒送饭,我觉得可以唔驶点个鱼露,因为已经几重口味下!呢度lunch可以加18蚊有杯冻奶茶,反而湾仔就全部嘢都要散叫!杯奶茶不过不失,但唔算好泰国风味,茶味争d!服务好一般! 继续阅读
