My classmates and I have beenhunting and dying to try sth new near Sheung Wan where we go to school. We found Yokohamaya, a japanese ramen restaurant that sits on a side street, about10 minutes walk from Sheung wan MTR station. It was a gloomy day and only half of the restaurant were filled when we went there at dinner time around 7. We didn't expect such a huge variety of food offered by a small ramen shop. Besides ramne, this restaurant also makes Udon, or fried chicken rice with Japanese curry, Pork cutlet riceAn interesting find on the menu is the special dinner set for Men and Women. Though we are all girls but we ordered one man set and two women set just to try+ other side dishes Starter:Takowasa $20 9/10Cold octupus dish with wasabi sauce. I love it! I am not a fan of octupus because of the rubbery and fishy taste but this one is not rubbery at all! It is fresh and taut. The wasabi was just nice to take away the fishy smell of octupus. Recommend! Tofu in three styles!!!Wafu style, Sesame sauce, Ceasar style:Sesame style is my fav. Can't say no that sauce ><!!! Karaage (8/10) $35Fried chicken + lemony soy sauce. Savory + slightly sour would surely increase ur apetite! Although i found this dish was more of a vietnamese taste, but i like it! :)Chicken Nanban (9/10) (came with set) Fried chicken with mayo sauce! Served sizzling hot! Cripsy, yet tender fried chicken!! perfect combination with mayo?!!! who would have thought of that before?! Tamagoyaki $38 6/10Thick japanese sweet egg cake. The top of the cake was slightly roasted. This is super filling! I think it tasted a bit bland tho. Will not recommend this. Gyoza $40 6/10Japanese dumplings have always been my fav! This one wasn't bad. I like the thin dumpling skin, however dumpling skin wasn't crispy. Mains:Shiratamahime Hokkaido 3.6 Milky ($78 dinner set + $10 ) 8.5/10Without the picture, I would think that this was some kind of milk drink instead of milk RAMAN if i just read the title without looking at the photo. Apparently this one has the famous hokkaido 3.6 milk as the soup base!!! My only experience with milk in soup was a fish noodle shop from a food market in singapore. I've been trying to find that flavor again!! This ramen jus fulfilled all my wishes i guess. Served hot (beware the bowl was hot!!, ROASTED cha siu, corn with BUTTER, and hokkaido milk soup? it was perfect!! I like that the soup wasn't super salty with heavy flavors like the other ramen shop. It was of a light, salty taste. Beware! if ur a girl who eats like a man, this portion is not the right portion for u! size it up to the man's set!! Kimchi Cheese ramen (Men's dinner set) $95, 7/10When korean and japanese flavor fuses together!! I have never seen anything like this, esp with the melty cheese too? The soup was yummy! More savory than spicy! but u still need to drink a lot of water after this. Kimchi wasn't as spicy as the regular ones that i have at korean restaurant. Overall was okay but i would prefer the hokkaido soup base more! Overall, we had a feast at a very reasonable price. If you wanted to have decent japanese food but don't wanna pay the big bills, try here!! …查看更多
