We were in the area to check out D2 Place weekend market and wanted to grab a bite beforehand. This is where we found a good number of people heading into this cha chan teng. So, we decided to just follow the crowd and went in. A rather nice looking place and it was very large.Menu is in Chinese only. There is no English and no 10% service charge. Sets include a drink but if you add $3, you can upgrade to a ice red bean drink. Which seemed like quite a good deal as cold drinks are also upgraded at the same price. It is bigger in size but it was tasted mostly of milk.
I ordered the all day chicken wings and noodles set ($52) and this included ham, scrambled eggs and Danish toast. The Danish toast was a bordering on burnt and was very greasy. The ham was well .... not the good ham but was expected. But the egg portion was so small. It looked a bit sad. They said they used Japanese eggs but really ... why so little a poriton? It looked like they only gave me one egg.
The soysauce chicken wings with instant noodles looked good. But oddly the sauce was bland. There was no flavour. There wasn't enough sauce and everything became really dry and just plain bland.
Boyfriend had the spaghetti bologese ($40) from the tea set menu. This fared better than my order. The spaghetti was a bit dry from baking it. But the sauce was at least had lots of tomato flavour and a bit of cheese mixed with the minice.
It wasn't that good so we most likely won't be back. Probably popular for the people who work in this area and want something cheap with large portions.
