Been craving sushi very often lately and decided to come here and WOW i was disappointed. Upon arrival I already noticed that there were no other customers - a sign that suggests they probably dont get rid of their sashimi stock quick enough for fresh fish to be sourced. I started hoping that they would surprise us as I was the one who suggested coming here with my mom and would get blamed if things turned out very bad. I did not expect standard to be same as sushi ta-ke/toku seeing that the sushi set costed only 190 - but it was probably even
worse than genki sushi. (Sushi shin set lunch is around the same
price but MUCH better) . I have no idea why this place has 16 smiles on openrice!? I have stopped writing here for a while but my meal here was so horrible that I felt
the need to warn other people about it.
WASTED A MEAL EATING HORRIBLE SUSHI .

The only edible thing here was the salad with a standard japanese dressing. The Sashimi was stale and poorly cut. The tuna had so much tendon it was chewy and all the fish were tasteless and DRY! I am much happier eating at a place like senryo.

The waiter's attitude wasn't too bad but I guess he probably knew the food sucked (even the chawanmushi was bad) so didnt bother to ask how our meal went.

btw my mom had the uni rice and it was no good either with 2 tiny pieces of uni and some
unfresh ikura on top.

......Have been here a few times and even posted pics below.It is good to revisit here as this is still one of my favourite Japanese restaurants in town.The food selection seems to have been streamlined a bit however, but the food done by the Japanese Chef Owner is still of a very high standard.

不知為什麼食評這麼高~~~雖然今天是星期六,但連我們在內只有三批客人。如不吃懷石料理, menu選擇不多,我們8时到达,约1/4 叫的食物都已售罄.14件的什錦刺身細實是貴精不貴多,細件得可憐,但成為$450大元每人吃了$300也没有一点饱的感觉...ai. 我們一伙人最後只好轉戰到causeway bay其他的甜品店

呢幢商/食廈的日本餐廳只試剩 7 樓及 18 樓, 是日唔想食生冷嘢, 捉了朋友先試 18 樓呢間. Set lunch 可選兩款食物, 另配前菜, 漬物, 白飯 (可免費添加), 味噌湯, 甜品及餐飲, 結果 2 人叫了 4 款不同的熟食, 完全係「四餸一湯, 白飯任裝」


前菜係木魚汁腐皮 (係咪叫「生湯葉」?), 質地滑溜但咬落又幾爽口, 豆味香, 配上清甜的湯汁, 冰冰涼涼, 感覺十分清新, 正


漬物只食了牛蒡, 夠冰涼爽脆, 味道先少少鹹後帶點甘苦, 一般啱口味; 另見朋友食螢光黃色漬大根咬到「確確」聲, 應該幾脆口吧.

冷豆腐配唔知乜嘢菜: 夠滑的, 豆味強勁, 配上少少另上的醬油及堆滿面頭的木魚絲, 當然多一份鹹香, 幾好食; 唔知乜嘢菜 (事隔太耐, 唔記得了, 哈哈...) 的莖部分好幼, 食落味道有點似菠菜, 又帶點西芹嗰隻爽脆, 唔知係乜?

雜菌燴雞肉丸: 雞肉丸蘸粉炸過, 食落外皮帶點煙韌, 中間就軟軟腍腍;「雜菌」以金菇及靈芝菇為主, 芡汁就好杰又黏黏的, 果然係「燴」呀吓

「本日燒魚」鹽燒鯛魚: 魚皮燒得極薄脆, 不過魚肉就較乾嚡了, 蘸了酸汁幫助都不大, 睇嚟鯛魚都係生吃較好? 旁邊的蕃薯就十分軟糯, 不過就甜到甩牙


紅酒漢堡牛肉: 漢堡牛肉「球」打得鬆軟, 肉味香, 不過最正絕對係醬汁, 雖然帶少少(紅酒嗰隻)苦澀, 但味道實在濃縮鹹香, 令人諗起東京たいめいけん半熟卵蓋飯旁邊的牛肉汁, 正
到呢度 d 飯已食得七七八八而且幾飽, 但結果係添了大半碗飯, 為的就係要食埋 d 汁
, 值得試試.

白飯簡簡單單, 不過日本飯煮得煙韌食落又富米香, 唔使我再解釋好唔好食吧.


細細碗味噌湯勁熱, 最後用嚟暖暖胃最好, 呢度的味濃而不鹹, 完全唔會口渴, 不錯喎.

甜品係 peach 配呍呢嗱雪糕: 新鮮 peach 清香多汁又香甜; 不過呍呢嗱雪糕更不得了, 質地極滑, 食落呍呢嗱味極香, 正
唔知係乜牌子0架呢? 還是係自家製?

熱咖啡: 店員推介呢度的咖啡比出面「靚 d」, 齋飲的確濃而不苦, 落 cream 落糖後就夠晒香滑, 滿足.


食物精緻, 配套亦十分好, 每人放低約 $170, 會再來的 -- 唔知幾時有機會夜晚來食懷石?

由於影相影得太耐,隻蛋開始熟熟地,都係快快手撈左先...蛋汁混埋飯粒好食到爆,豚肉肥瘦度剛好,醬汁夠濃,好一個正宗嘅豚角煮烹調法,地道嘅感覺真好...掂!


餐後甜品自家香橙果凍配雲呢拿雪糕,果肉夠甜夠香,食完濃味嘅豚肉飯食佢真係好清爽,呢餐食完好滿足呀!

Came here for a light dinner, and sat at the counter. Ordered a few cooked dishes and a claypot rice. No raw food nor grilled/fried food tonight. Quality of the food was pretty decent. Unfortunately, service was poor. They were nice enough to bring us 3 sets of utensils/dishes as we were sharing every dish. I did the ordering in Japanese, and they got one of the dishes wrong. The manager turned around and blamed us even though I distinctly pointed to the specific item on the menu while pr

甜品的啫喱應是自家製的, 略見用心. 雪糕也吃得出不是一般貨式. $160已包了一杯飲品, 若在中環來說是很便宜了, 但在銅纙灣這應該不是賣點. 莫非這裡真是日本人的聚腳處? 故此不用以價錢作招徠? 還不用預備足夠的壽司飯來供應只吃壽司的香港人? 費解費解.....

Lunch starts from around $100, upto $190 for 3 Courses + Rice and Miso Soup set. - Japanese pearl rice has unlimited refills.
- Set comes with Miso Soup and Pickles. Honestly, really nice Miso Soup here.
- Set Lunch Price includes both Dessert, plus Tea or Coffee, whereas most restaurant require the customer to choose only either 1.
- Their Iced Lemon Tea here is the Japanese lighter version, with only a hint of lemon and syrup. Very hard to find in Hong Kong, reminds me of Japanese cafes!

- Dessert might be a Vanilla Seeded Ice Cream with Mango Jelly, or during the season, a love Cherry Jelly!


Ranging from Low - High '4' for lunch dishes, though not as impressive as Dinner.

This review is one of several meals here & I've finally figured its about time to write up the 1st review. Note that the dinner quality is substantially higher than the lunch menu as expected, since this is a sophisticated 割烹 style which sells Kaiseki dinner, whereas lunch is more restricted to less sophisticated Set Lunches more resembling those in Izakayas. This review is one of several meals here & I've finally figured its about time to write up the 1st review.
Note that the dinner quality is substantially higher than the lunch menu as expected, since this is a sophisticated 割烹 style which sells Kaiseki dinner, whereas lunch is more restricted to less sophisticated Set Lunches more resembling those in Izakayas. The quality of food here could appear a bit 'bland' for people used to eating normal Japanese food, as those are stronger in taste. One can also choose the chef decided Omakase Course starting from around $550-850 per person. I decided to order dinner for myself:

生湯葉と山葵 -
Great and fresh tasting, with fresh grated wasabi.

鱧ちり -
A type of boiled eel, eaten fresh rather than chargrilled during summer months. Comes with a plum like sauce and myoga shavings. This was quite sweet and the sauce was awesome.

豆腐田楽 -
Miso paste on grilled tofu blocks. This is one of my favourite snacks and quite similar to the Eggplant sibling, the eggplant version usually a bit more oily.

鶏団子と水菜の鍋 -
Chicken meat dumplings in a very nicely cooked clear broth with 水菜, 長葱 & 椎茸. I have had a similar dish in Kyoto before. This version is very enjoyable although for some it might be a bit boring. I like boring food sometimes, I guess.


塩焼き鮎魚 -
Still in season during Summer months, a very cheap yet highly desired fish known to carry a melon flavour. The grilling here was actually very professional, the salty crust on the outside spot on. One could also opt for another 2nd version called 鮎一夜干し, that having been slightly marinated. I chose fresh tonight. My only complaint is that despite the skin and cooking being utmost perfectly executed, the fish meat quality was slightly too crumbly.

賀茂茄子と白海老のみどれ餡かけ -
A famous Japanese imported Eggplant with small peeled shrimps, finished in a starchy stock based sauce. The sauce is 100% Japanese in taste, just the same as the ones in high end restaurants in Japan - seems like the chef really knows what he is doing. The Eggplants were also pre-fried perfectly without being oily and it even retained a crunch. Shrimps gave it slightly more of a sea flavour.

味噌汁 & Rice with Pickles -
The Miso Soup in Hayashi is honestly very good, one of the best ones around town. Its a very clear version without extra ingredients and its very aromatic, unlike most shops. However, I find that it varies slightly between visits, sometimes carrying a very strong Seaweed aroma, this time, it carried a slight 梅 taste, sometimes more of an 'aged' miso taste & aroma. Rice quality is also very high here, nothing to fault.

Overall, a very high standard Kappo style dinner. The chef is definitely well trained as his cooking, ranging from execution and seasoning of dishes and sauce, are as accurate and authentic as it gets. All the more impressive considering he was mainly trained in Osaka rather than Kyoto!

有時候日本菜總是給人感覺是以壽司優先,但其實對於我來說會席又或者是熟食才是領略日本菜.板前割煮並不是現時的板字頭集團,這裏是日本人所主理的料理店.不過還是嘗試下午餐就感受該店的實力店內去到師傅面前坐下.顧客也不是多.相比今村等的壽司店,這裏顯得冷清.但總聽到日本客的聲音.來這裏不想食刺身,當然選擇這裏的一湯二菜或三菜的套餐.自己選了吉列豬扒以及本日日燒魚,徒弟則奉上小食,以池魚肉配上酸汁,這是來得有誠意的.美味而開胃. 吉列豬扒不是什麼黑豚等等上品豬肉.此終一百四十元的二菜定食不能要求高.炸得表面脆口.因品質問題,沒有鬆軟.但仍合格.相比宇津木,這裏就差了一點.一件豬扒份量都不少.一碗也剛好的,途中看到可以添飯接著是燒魚,是用上池魚鹽燒,切成二小件.燒得恰到好處,池魚本身肉質不算滑,但也不太感受到.是件不俗的燒魚,飯下水剛好,如果沒有美味的飯總少樂趣.食完後再來飲味噌湯.甜品則是雪糕配上二件蘋果粒,蘋果來得清甜.想不到還有杯飲品.因自己不飲咖啡,就要奶茶.人客不多,坐得清閒,最少給人一點空間.服務態度也不錯,食物質素不算高.可以有待改善.開了四年還算新手.雖然師傅會用自己前整理食物,

由於已經接近晏奏落場時候, 人客好疏落, 只有幾枱日本人呢! 而 menu 上既選擇, 例如拖羅飯, 炸豚肉都係無哂...menu 上令我有興趣既只剩低雜錦天婦羅 set!

漬物、沙律、御飯、味噌湯同天婦羅: 一口氣上, 第一眼只睇個飯, 因為 lunch 食飯, 味道固然係重要, 不過飽唔飽都要諗啊! 你知啦, 經濟唔好, 最緊要有啖飯暖肚啊! 嗚哇...

雜錦天婦羅 (魷魚、青椒、蝦、鎗魚同蓮藕): 自己好怕熟既魚, 因為怕腥, 不過呢個鎗魚無咩野 woh, 炸完一 d 都無話乾身同 "鞋十十"; 食到最後一件蝦, 望望吸油紙, d 油少得離奇, 雖然炸粉外層唔係好脆, 不過 fing 水功夫很好, 炸得薄而一 d 都唔油膩先係最厲害 , 隻蝦連殼食埋! 不過個人鍾意"扎實"既天婦羅口感多 d!

雪糕藍莓果涷: 明顯個果涷係落左酒, 唔嚐酒既我 "打咩打咩"!

埋單百二。落樓下掃幾串燒賣加盒維他奶頂頂肚! hohoho...

設計: 3(雖然日本食店既 menu 多數係文字, 不過個 lunch set menu 就真係不濟, 一張粉紅色紙成排字, 有 d 壓迫感, 睇左好耐! 野食擺位正常!)
味道: 2.5(味道唔太合自己心意 )
價錢: 2.5(呢個 Lunch set 價錢可以選擇同座其他日本食店)

最終評分: (2.5) 或者如 "板前割煮" 意思所講, 係師傅0係你面前切食物再煮比你食, 如果睇到料理人為你而煮, 或者食到店內最首本野食, 味道同氣氛會有唔同感覺呢!

上星期六同女友試下呢d既日本懷石料理lunch我地咁左兩個2餸1湯set即係total有4個餸(1) 雜箘雞肉丸 --- 好細碗, 不過麻麻地好食, 係特別d(2) 刺身 (3款) --- 每款有2塊, 一般, 唔算好好味, 可以接受(3) 天婦羅 --- 有蝦同d雜菜, 呢個okay, but 我女友就話林晒(4) 吉列黑豚肉 --- 即係吉列豬扒lor, 呢個最好味!!!個set 仲有麵豉湯 (勁好飲), 前菜 (一般), 甜品 (唔錯), 同餐飲 (唔飲都得, 好難飲)Overall 黎講, 可以接受, but 完全唔值咁既價錢lor~~~
