打印機壞了,下午去了灣仔買一個新的,有人在路上派傳單,那就上去吃吃看了。上去看到人也不少,但也有位子,而且不用搭枱,坐得舒服。點了香片茶,可是茶味不濃。點心吃了煎芋頭糕,燒鴨瀨粉,叉燒腸粉,雪山叉燒包,灌湯餃,東洋雪米糍,紅豆沙。煎芋頭糕,糕身有點糊爛,不挺身,煎得也不夠香燒鴨瀨粉,瀨粉不算軟,也適中,燒鴨味道不錯,但量偏少叉燒腸粉,腸粉夠薄夠滑,叉燒肉汁香甜,又有芫茜香味,叉燒腸粉出色雪山叉燒包,包皮不夠酥,又黏牙,餡內的叉燒肉不多,只有很多醬灌湯餃內的材料也很多,有冬菇,肉末,蝦仁等,只是皮很厚,不好吃東洋雪米滋的皮很厚,是芒果餡但不多,卻也算軟滑紅豆沙不太甜,煮得起沙,這是除了叉燒腸粉之外最好吃的總體來說,他們的燒味好像比較出色,燒鴨和叉燒感覺都很香甜,肉質鮮美,包點反而不太理想。

東洋雪米滋的皮很厚,是芒果餡但不多,卻也算軟滑
紅豆沙不太甜,煮得起沙,這是除了叉燒腸粉之外最好吃的

總體來說,他們的燒味好像比較出色,燒鴨和叉燒感覺都很香甜,肉質鮮美,包點反而不太理想。

同知客理論, 佢話係免茶, 不過我冇話全免......

勁到呢!!!!!

今日中午同公司同事一行十人一齊去東園酒家宴會廳 飲茶, 因為公司附近都無乜好食既酒樓,所以明知呢間野又貴又多人都會幫襯 至少佢食物質數算係咁一如以往避免等位所以今朝一早就打電話去訂位訂o左十二點四十五分同事比訂枱時間早五分鐘到達但知客話預留俾我o地張枱未埋單, 要等一陣於是一行十人一齊企o係門口等等o左成廿分鐘, 到一點都仲未有枱俾到我o地但係現場有好多張大枱未有人坐我明問可唔可以先安排我o地入坐o個啲有人訂o左有但係未到既枱但知客話唔得, 有人訂o左咁我問佢, 我夠訂o左枱啦, 又要等?知客話安排俾我o個張枱有枱早茶客未埋單, 佢埋單我就俾枱你o架喇頂! 咁o個枱客唔走, 飲埋下午茶先埋單, 我係咪都要等佢張枱先? 唔識安排第二張既? 擾攘o左一輪之後, 終於有枱, 點知我o地去到張枱前, 又發現安排俾我o地張枱已經俾人坐o左又要安排過, 點知最後仲安排一張只夠俾8位坐既枱俾我o地成十個人坐又要再擾攘一大輪先肯幫我o地換張大枱板但係啲知客同樓面都已經黑口黑面食物質量同兩個月前去食有啲退步但係都算啦, 不過不失點知到埋單又要再一次勞氣張單唔o岩數, 比起我o地原本order 既點心多o

今有朋自遠方來,特選名店招呼。東園地方整潔,美侖美渙,格局豪華,乃呼朋喚友之佳所。四人,不食套餐,每人叫一個餸。芝麻雞先上,肉特別滑,芝麻皮香,實意想不到好吃。燒鵝半隻,吃來有媲美中環庸記,燒鵝汁溢出,肉又嫩又腍,老外都話正。清湯腩,有特選腩坑之味,湯濃郁,奇怪,比清湯腩更好吃。羊腩煲來了,以為要了兩個煲,太多了點,誰知一開蓋,已聞肉香,再沾漿汁,其味無窮,吃來暖煀煀,肉又腍,吃完全身滾辣辣。最後來個更辣的虎皮青椒,好厲害,果真辣。在如此普通之酒家,吃到如此好菜式,真意想不到。

普普通通, 雖然都似即炸, 但係個粉好厚, 一啖咬下都只係食到粉, 肉粒好少…

叫咗走油, 都有做到, 生菜都好綠, 新新鮮鮮咁, 唔錯~

::: 高山野菌上素腸 :::
幾好幾健康嘅野菌腸, 野菌份量都好夠, 唔會有地方只係齋腸. 味道清清地, 餡料又爽口, 都好襯腸粉. 係d腸粉皮唔夠薄, 不過都ok咁啦…

::: 韮王鴨絲春卷 :::
個樣同平時食開嗰d春卷一樣, 又唔係好食得出韮王鴨絲, 都只係食到一pat肉咁, 但係春卷皮都夠脆嘅~

好耐冇飲過茶, 不過今次好似唔係好滿足, 食物水準唔係差, 但係冇一樣食完有驚喜, 唔怪之得喺正大馬路都冇乜人食.

BACKGROUND

A friendly dinner with two other friends. Party was made up of three Brits and one local. All diners, especially the local are 'experienced' banquet diners.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Not great to be honest - it looked like Liberace's bathrooom - way too much glass, crystal and polished flooring. Understand that this is often the style however it has been over done here.

MEET AND GREET

Impersonal and robotic. A reservation had been made in Chinese and the table was requested in Chinese yet confusion seemed to reign. In mitigation, there seemed to be an extremely large gathering (some 200+ people) in the main dining room.

TABLE SERVICE

The first waiter to attend to us (all discussion was done in Chinese) seemed to be on a different planet. Eventually dealt with by the section manager who seemed to have his finger on the pulse and quickly shunted the waiter off somewhere else. Other 'table walkers' seemed smiley enough and there were no more issues.

MENU AND ORDERING

As with all Chinese Banquets, there are dozens of set menus, specials and for one night onlys on the table - perfectly normal and acceptable for locals and for out of towners I'd certainly recommend going with a local.

The main a la carte menu was very well translated into English and so all members ordered from here.

Food ordered was:

* Whole lobster (with special sauce)
* Whole Peking Duck
* Roasted chicken (special style)
* Duck meat (stir fried?)
* Assorted vegetables and soup
* Various bean desserts

FOOD DELIVERY, TASTE AND STYLE

The vegetables were the first to arrive and were well presented in a sauce/soup which was a nice accompaniment. Various mushrooms and greens. A nice start.

ROASTED CHICKEN - this dish came next and was very tasty - HOWEVER - there is a caveat that although the dish was presented on the menu as a house special roasted dish it was infact a French style roasted chicken with a mixture of Provencal herbs - Tasty but in now way Chinese nor original

Following the chicken dish, the whole roast duck was presented to the table to see if it was ok - it was then taken away to be prepared - a nice touch.

WHOLE LOBSTER - Although only three members of the table ate the lobster (I did not) the feedback was mixed. Our local guest seemed to be quite impressed however the expats were somewhat disappointed at the amount of cheese sauce that was baked over the top - again, another non Chinese dish.

DUCK MEAT - To be honest, I am not sure if this was ordered separately or if it was part of the package of the whole roast duck. It resembled and tasted similar to a stir fried black bean dish. The dish was nice, well presented and tasty - If I ever went back i would want this again.

WHOLE PEKING DUCK - Lots of product, not a lot of quality. Of course, every restaurant serving Peking Duck cannot offer a Quan Ju De (please excuse spelling) but this fat under roasted and dripping in fat - slightly nauseous and off putting. However, personal tastes differ and I did see it being wolfed down on a number of other tables.

Overall, this banquet hall can only get a
from me. Not the best but of course far from the worst fare I've tried in Hong Kong.

I doubt whether I would return.

以前星期日都會同嫲嫲去三湘大廈既東園飲茶,因為地點方便,容易泊車,食物啱大家口味,價錢又合理。不過因為租約滿左,舊年十月東園就搬左去熙華大廈。環境衛生1) 地點冇以前咁方便:四圍都係巴士站同雙黃線,正門冇位停車。最頭痛既係泊車;一年365日想喺灣仔搵倒街位真係好難,何況係星期日?附近既停車場又要行成兩三個街口,位窄難泊之餘,重要唔係到到有位,唔好彩嗰日真係有排兜,先扣半分。2) 入左門口,大家要行成廿級樓梯先有得食架。怕行唔緊要,可以選擇搭佢部八人𨋢,不過我去過幾次,每次都係排哂隊,又或者係修理中。3) 地方闊落左,樓面高,冷氣夠,抽氣好。室內裝修亦靚過以前:當日雖然陰天,但係酒樓既光線非常充足,燈飾華麗,周圍都白雪雪,感覺好光好乾淨。話明係宴會廳,更係唔少得個舞台啦。服務雖然地方大左,不過因為人手唔夠,新既東園試業期間實在係非常混亂;打左電話黎訂位都要等成二十分鐘先有得埋位。坐左埋位又要等好耐先有人得閒沖茶落單。真係"一等再等...",等到比我扣左兩分。因為我地每個禮拜都幫襯,所以認得出大部份既伙計都係舊人;個個都做到索哂氣,所以建議東園請多幾個人幫輕吓。味道 花膠港式碗仔翅:$54

 青蔬賽螃蟹餃(大):$17.8;見倒個名咁得意就叫黎試下;咬落濕濕地,餃內有蛋有蝦,味道ok啦。

 南瓜金粟粥:$39;一個完全冇諗過既粥料配搭,意外地好好食;用粟米煲,所以好清甜,而南瓜蓉亦好易入口,好啱嫲嫲食;入面重有好爽口既竹生架。東園必吃推介!唯一有個小問題係粥內有嫲嫲食唔倒既粟米衣。

 濃湯鮮菌魚麵:$78;好鮮甜,完全冇骨又唔腥,不過唔夠熱;魚麵比舊舖食開嗰隻硬左少少,不過嫲嫲都食倒,而且好食過自己係街市買返黎嗰D;一味好啱我依D咁怕食魚既朋友食既湯麵。

感覺價錢比舊舖貴,不過都重算係低食。話哂人地都係新裝修,租又可能加左,所以加價都係正常既。

1) 星期日午市點心價:小點;$11.8;中點:$14.8;大點:$17.8;特點:$20.8;精點:$22.8;頂點:$31.8
2) 星期日午茶:每位 $6

後記:
1) 大家最失望既係佢餐牌冇左舊舖既"雪山叉燒包":嫲嫲話新既菠蘿叉燒包同蒸既叉燒包都唔夠雪山包腍,唔係唔想食,只係咬唔倒。
如果可以既話,請東園考慮再推出返"雪山叉燒包"。
2) 用過洗手間既屋企人提醒話洗手盤好大,不過設計有問題,抹手紙太唔方便,所以地下非常濕滑。咁多老人家出入,真係好容易出事,所以環境分扣多半分,希望可以改善。

Im working in service industry for more then ten years, truely understand the trend of the service in HK currently is getting unacceptable, so i personally very particular on the standard and the reputation of the restaurant. A well known resturant which newly renovate and spent lot of $ on decoration last year, my good friend HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I trust him and I didnt ask too much into the details b4 i spent my afternoon tea with my family in this restaurant.
Both of my parents they are age over 70, we have to spend more then 30mins on transportation before we can get there. lucky that day was not full house.

Quickly we be offered a table and all the waitors.... i would say they all working efficiently (Hong kong style) to set the table for us, one of my bowl was with dirt
. i made my request to change another one, it was quickly be changed and was roughly THROUGH on my table without a word. i wasnt aware that is the sign and the start of the ridiculous service.

My parents order two types of tea (one strong and one mile), at the end only the strong tea arrived, which my mum couldnt drink, we kept asking different waiters for another mile tea which we order it in the very begining. finally we be served.

Almost the end of the meal, both of our tea pots were empty, i desprately need it to be fill up with hot water, as my mum is having difficulty in swollowing, she needs hot drinks while she's eating.

Here's the service was:

I opened the tea pots lids as usual, few waiters and waitress ignor our request by quickly walk away from our table. its ok i know they are bc, but my mum she needs hot drink.
i finally manage to catch a waitress and told her my request. she asked me to wait. fine...i wait, but the most unacceptable service of her was, she's walking around and collecting other table's DimSum card for the bills, about 10 mins, (i did count as i want to know when will she be back for her promise), she came back BUT she came for the DimSum card and NOT for refilling
. i was speechless and i straightly told her i want to see her manager, i dont think i should keep it by myself, there were two elderly eating without water !!


i've been waited for the manager for more then 10 mins, my patience has reached the max level,
i went to the front desk and met the manager, the waitress was also there, i be told by the manager no one has passed my massage to her!!
RIDICULOUS!!~~~

If i didnt approach the manager, how long would i need to wait for.

好耐無食過中式嘢.........所以oct 26, 10,友人揀咗呢間新新哋嘅酒樓1試,6人嚟lunch,叫咗 : 1) 鹹水角-因得3件,所以無試到2) 菠蘿叉燒包 x 2 (特價)- 因為特價,所以叫了2碟- 熱辣辣,不錯3) 糯米飯- 雖飯未至於挺身,不過都無腍到1pat咁- 味道ok的4) 叉燒腸-正常5) 流沙包-看流心嘅程度,喺交到功課的6) 1000層奶皇糕 -也很鬆軟 7) 馬拉糕-ok的 8) 臘腸卷-只得2個,沒機會試 9) 叉燒包-都幾型喎 10) 鳳爪 11) 牛肉球-沒試了 12) 排骨-正常 13) 雞扎-飽滿也足料 14) 鯪魚球-沒有試到 * 今日我哋都無炒嘢,仲有2碟特價包..........最後每人都要hk$6x.........所以價$$$$真不弱...........味道合格有餘
