訂座12：30，樓下的侍應說在二樓，以為只有樓梯，怎料1樓開始是有升降機的。12：45朋友來了點了餐，有暖暖的包，但到1點多還未有前菜/湯，心想這次要遲點回去公司。前菜叫了crab cake, 份量是手掌心左右大，比預期的少，但味道是可以的。然後是雜菜湯，很特別地加了紅菜頭，加分。不過個碗的設計，令到d渣留在碗底，很艱難才喝完。然後主菜接近2點終於到了，發現原來無論幾點入座/點菜，所有course喺一齊上桌的，所以有些食客還比我們等得久。我的主菜是魚，很鮮味，同埋同d配菜很夾，但份量還是少了點（都是手掌心左右的份量）。到甜品要食完主菜等多10分鐘先，是椰子奶凍，是很好吃的，但我們已經無時間慢慢品嚐了，只好用最快速度吞下去。總結來說，食物是好的，但份量有點少（吃完沒有飽的感覺）。這裡更適合happy hour 或吃晚餐，因為在中環要花2小時吃午餐不太適合我 。…Read More

This shop has opened for more than 2 years, and I finally tried on their last day of business.  There were only 2 types of sandwiches left and few choices of salads at 1ish pm which was odd.  Upon asking, it was their last day of business and they need to stop selling at 2pm for packing.  Bought the tomato mozzarella sandwiches which were heated.  It's very tasty with the cheese which has melted a bit, rocket leaves that were fresh, and a good sundried tomato spread which went well with the taste.  Good job though it's closing, will try to go to the other shops more in the future.…Read More

I called to book this place for a lunch with friend.  My friend arrived before 12:45pm and we ordered quickly because my friend came from Taikoo so we were pretty rush to start with.The salad quickly arrived.  Greens were fresh but nothing special - just balsamic vinaigrette and veggies.We waited and waited til 1:20pm for the mains - which were just pesto pasta and risotto.  My pasta is not very al dente and the pesto sauce is really average.  The clams, which were placed nicely around the pasta, were also average.  Portion was just right but seriously, I don't know why a pasta dish takes almost half an hour to cook.By the time we quickly finished the food and had the drink, we just had to run out at 1:50pm.  As we passed by the big table right beside us, none of the diners got any food yet and they were here just slightly later than us.If you are in a rush, avoid this restaurant.  And food - it's like those served at cafes in commercial buildings of Causeway Bay or Mongkok but price is charged as a Central westernized restaurant.  Not my cup of tea and will not go back for lunch for sure when  Linguine Fini serves much better pasta at the same price (with semi-buffet too).…Read More

Our coworkers and I booked this place in advance for a lunch gathering.  The food was quite good with the appy salads very fresh and refreshing and the main was very savory and good quality for the price we paid.  However, when my drink arrived which comes with the set lunch, the drink - iced coffee with milk looked a bit different as I see a black spot in my ice.  I used my straw to stir and found that it's actually a fly.  We gave back the drink to the waiter but was only offered a VIP card for our future visits.  I would not come back for whatever discount they are going to give!…Read More

This is the 2nd time I have come to this place and glad to see more people at this joint for lunch.  With a few seats all taken, I decide to get takeouts.  Not sure if it's meant to be, the environment and assembly line for food resemble Subway so much...and you will know why.Ordered the quarter chicken with a small scoop of spinach rice and beans (I had the tomato rice last time), and lastly the salads with choice of green/pepper/corn/tomato - you can choose all but this time I skipped the tomato.  And finally the white cheddar cheese and sauces, and guacamole for $15+ if you want.  I asked for the green sauce this time and the guacamole looked so fresh I can't resist to add the $15.When I got back to the office, all of the above were smushed together and it didn't look too good.  However, the taste made up for it.  Love the rice which is nicely flavoured with a bit of a cream taste.  All the veggies were fresh and as a pea-hater and someone not too fond of beans, I actually like the mix of black and pinto beans.  Now only the chicken and the guacamole left and you might think it's the chicken but no, guacamole is the highlight of the meal which is super creamy and goes extremely well with the salad mix.  In fact, next time, I might skip the sauce and have that to top my salad instead.  Believe it or not, I finished the guacamole before anything else and the chicken became a side to me, finishing it last as it's not as special as I thought.Good takeout concept for busy Central-lers and it makes you full throughout the rest of the day without the sleepiness from chinese takeouts that are always full of rice!…Read More

A coworker has asked me to come try for lunch, and came to get seats during busy lunch hour before I arrived.Knowing that it will be too evil to have 1 burger all by ourselves, we shared a double patty which means we both get 1 patty but half the bread.  I guess that is "less" calories in a way.  We also ordered the donut bites.The place was very packed when I arrived.  If it's a chinese restaurant I am sure I would bump my hand into the person next to me.  I think with the way the seats were arranged, I would prefer getting take out next time (I see a lot of people coming and going for take out).The sight of the double decker was really amazing.  Cheese, veggies and the beef patties.  No way for me to get them all in a bite.  The beef was medium to medium well which was alright and the melted cheese all over the patty was no wonder a photo catcher.  Like the fact that the bun was toasted and crispy.  The sauce in the burger was not very my thing and I had to wipe some sauce off the burger to finish it.  Good quality beef patty but the combination of the ingredients was not special enough to "wow" me.The donut bites arrived when we were half way done with our burger.  This is probably the highlight of the meal.  Loved the warm caramel sauce over the donuts (which were freshly fried).  For someone who doesn't like caramel that much, I actually liked it!Not coming back for the burger, but will come back for the donuts - take out please!…Read More

Craving for burgers again.This restaurant is on my to-eat-list for some time so I came.  I guess the burger fad has faded a bit these days in Hong Kong cos it was quite empty at 12:30ish.  I quickly ordered the acrobat (with less sauce) and fries.  The waiter was nice enough to tell me that there is a lunch combo so I can also choose a soda on the menu.Passionfruit pineapple soda was very refreshing, but with too much ice.  The burger and fries took a bit of a wait.  I liked the cheddar cheese in the burger which is nicely melted.  The beef patty was well done but very moist so it's perfect for a preggo woman like me.  The sauce was also very good with a tangy flavour - so it's not just ketchup.  Same problem with a lot of the comments here is the watery runny sauce dripping from the bottom of the burger - which can simply be avoided when the veggies are patted dry before putting into the bun.  Fries were crispy enough for me.  No complaints on the food.For the price I paid, I think I got something better than Burger King but definitely not Butcher's Club quality.  Will not come back for the food.  Probably back for the atmosphere which is very suitable for social gathering and good to chill in a 60s diner kind of environment. …Read More

With no idea what to eat for lunch, I came here thinking to grab a sandwich of some sort.  I picked the BLT bagel lunch set with a coffee.  The staff were very friendly and when my request for decaf cannot be met, the barista came and asked for my needs.  The food take a bit of time to come and I could smell the bacon on the grill during the wait.  When the food arrived, the portion amazed me because I can see that they have included quite a bit of bacon in it.  The sauce was honey mustard which was very savory.  However, the bagel itself was toasted a bit too much for me.  It was so crunchy that my mouth was cut by the end of the meal.  I asked for a well done egg which was up to standard, and the combination of ingredients in the bagel was still good.  Lastly, the potatos on the side and the salad is a good complement to the bagel.Coffee there was very good as well, comparable to the good coffee shops around the area.  Even when I was given only 1 shot of espresso, the coffee was nice and strong with the perfect aftertaste.Even though the price is a bit on the high side, I could come occasionally for the good coffee and hearty comfort food.…Read More

Went to the Central branch and promised myself to go to the Sheung Wan branch for their relatively cheaper lunch set!Were here a month ago in June and had the Three Kinds BBQ Set with salt and had an awesome experience.  My coworker had the BBQ with sauce and I felt I had the right choice coz the flavour of the meat is much overwhelmed by the sauce, while mine with salt still subtly taste the difference between the 3 meat - chicken/pork/beef.  I literally finished the whole set, even the rice!Today, I came because the other Korean place in Sheung Wan was quite full before 12:30 so I tried my luck here.  To my surprise, it has seats for the 3 of us!This time, not feeling for do-it-myself BBQ, I had Set J - Beef Tendon Miso Stew Set.  Mine took the longest to arrive but once I tried my first bite, I did not regret getting this!  The flavours were well managed - a bit sour and spicy and the right amount of saltiness.  The beef which was half fat and half meat, was tender and melted in my mouth.  Tofu was also very good to be at the bottom and can blend well with the white rice.  The dish was just perfect to go with the rice.  In fact, rice was not enough this time.  The rest of the side dishes were a small salad in yuzu sauce which was average, and a tiny dish with marinated bean sprout, spinach, and kimchi.  The bean sprout was eye-rolling good and different because of the black pepper added.  All in all, satisfying and full meal which made me wanna go back and try the rest of the lunch sets!…Read More
